For everyone ina reading slump: what I do is that I forcefully read for 2 minutes, if I don't want to continue I'll try the next day but I usually get back into the book in those 2 minutes

I recently started Dracula and it’s SO GOOD. The SUSPENCE AAAAH and I’m only 50-ish pages in, Johnathan’s opening chapters at Dracula’s castle are done, Mina and Lucy are currently exchanging letters. Obviously the novel is famous for a reason lol, but it’s fun to read it and see WHY. A contemporary reader must’ve been thrilled over the horror elements.

I know Jesse is trying to get out of reading contemporary at the moment, but a really good book I read recently was Below Deck by Sophie Hardcastle. She is an amazing Australian author, and e book is about a girl, Oli, who sees and describes things (like feelings, etc) as colours, who becomes a sailor and then an art curator after she is victim to a terrible trauma. She then has to choose whether she will face this new fear and do something she has dreamed of, or stay where she is and carry this burden. This is an amazing, heartwarming story with a beautiful writing style.
Great video 😊 I've been mainly reading Contemporary and Middle Grade fantasy ☺️ I think in spite of everything that's been happening in the world I'd find it a bit difficult to get absorbed in a whole new fantasy world. So I've been purely enjoying the act of reading some easy going, easy to follow but entertaining books ☺️ hope you are all staying safe!

I'm currently reading Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie. If you don't like classics much, I recommend Christie's books because they don't read like classics. They feel like they were written in the last 20 years. Also, I've been reading classics and fantasy this year. Both genres that I am newish to!
