Any American diplomat or ex diplomat loses credibility when they talk about committing the US to defend another country for however long it takes. Clearly, the US is unable to honour this, or a future govt. will not be able to do so. That is why US and NATO have lost credibility as Ukraine heads to defeat. The war was lost strategically already in 2023, now it is a matter of trying to stave off the military endgame till after the elections - but the Russians will not oblige !

Blinken has only one prayer - that Ukraine does not collapse before the elections, as that would make defeat certain for Biden. There are many different types of "modern air defense systems" in the West's arsenals. What's actually effective over there depends upon what Russia is attacking with, whether short range, medium range, or long range, aircraft, drones, cruise missiles, dumb bombs, hypersonic missiles, etc. The F-16s can be very versatile because of their beyond-visual-range strike and heavy lifting capabilities (they seem to be akin to a sheer wing suit and what "pollen ball" this "shouldn't even be able to fly" bumble bee external-carries can be very massive and/or long range as needed.)

Does anyone realize the Billions that the US has spent on other nations military suppliers? Both for Ukraine and otherwise. I've heard all the whine about US weapons but have heard no one mention the huge windfall many European nations and their companies who have benefitted from this.
