Still blows my mind that you did 95% of this build alone....on camera. A lot of brains, blood, sweat and tears into that place. The 56x13 room above the garage needs to be a well deserved trophy/man cave/archery range room with your AND 1 work slippers framed on the wall! Well done, guys. Happy hunting Paul!
Our pantry is 6'x9'. we have open shelving on one 6' wall with 2' extension wrapping the 9' walls to form a U. on the opposite 6' wall is cabinetry with uppers and lowers and. a wet sink. We have our coffee brew station in there as well. We didn't want appliances setting out on the counters so they are all stored in the pantry. We are a retired couple so it's quite adequate for us. We do live in a small town in the Black Hills and it's an hour drive to our nearest large town, Rapid City. So we do buy in quantity. We have dedicated storage for overflow in the basement where our freezer is as well.
Loved your build series so much. Maybe you could do a marathon replay/re-release of your home build episodes some time for old and new viewers. Such a heroic endeavor.
Thank you for the in depth update on your home build. Thank you especially for room sizes and window sill heights!. My wife and I loved the build series when it was taking place. It has definitely inspired us and removed much of the fear of building a custom home. We have been with you sense 1st episode of MCB. Keep up the great work.
I have watched you from the start Paul and Emily and its been a long wait to see the finished project it all looks really well. Its a stunning home for you and your family and wish you well. Great job UK
Hey Paul, been subed to your channel from the start. Watched you work hard & build the dream with your own hands. An experience that will live with your children forever. Love & Respect for you brother. Blessings to you & the fam.
First time I’ve seen this channel/company and wow what an awesome build. Definitely one of the most beautiful and well thought out barn dominium floor plans I’ve seen to date. Just absolutely stunning 😋
Just did a $500 deposit on my kitchen cabinets from CabinetDirect and a 5% discount by mentioning Mr Post Frame that is over %500 savings... I went with the Pivot Shaker style Chocolate color.
This is a stunning build, well thought out ahead! I think it is great that you have all the added spaces to finish as you see fit. I like how every area is used, no blank spaces. Beautiful Beautiful house, I'm so jealous!
I am absolutely STUNNED! My jaw hit the floor when everything up to the completion of the foundation totaled around $10,000! I couldn’t believe it! My jaw stayed on the floor to the very end! 😂 Incredible! The plumbing, floor heating?, duct (HVAC) work that you did was soooo clean! It was like a work of art! My husband and I absolutely appreciated the streamlined design & installation of all the intricates! Lol! Also, that tree mantle over the wood stove!👌🏼😍 The, “I can absolutely do this”, attitude showed throughout this entire timelapse video even without words. Taking on the welding and soldering (also very clean!) yourself; nothing was stopping you from building your family’s home and saving that money!! And, that’s what’s awesome to see! Seeing your wife and children come in to help build, truly made the home priceless!😁 It’s a really beautiful home! I just found out about Barndominium homes and I’m in love! The open space, the amount of light that gets in, the environmental friendliness of the build; the cost, it just makes sense! And, it’s gorgeous too! Thank you for creating this video with a timeline of materials and expense counter. It was stunning to watch the progress with expense counter; I couldn’t believe how much had been built for the expense that was showing! 1-2 bedroom Trailers…mobile homes…..in DE sell for $190-$290,000 today; you had your whole house built ( only without the aesthetics) at $200,000! It makes me angry that realtors, banks, and manufacturers of mobile homes (of 1-3 bedroom ranch style, cottage, & mobile homes) that are older, have way less square footage, less features, and no contractors or laborers to pay for building the home, can and do sell around $190-$500,000 today (1-3bedrooms!) My husband and I want to build our own home together; it’s a dream of ours and hopefully we will get to do this one day! Thanks so much for the info, Inspiration, and dedication to teaching others The in’s, outs, and intricacies, on building their own homes! My husband and I both subscribed!
Amazing build !! Love the honesty from mom about the small things But clearly you guys really thought everything out and it’s really coming together !!
I remember watching you build this home and it’s so good to see how beautiful it is. Thanks for sharing and I hope y’all are having a blessed Sunday my sweet friends
Nice Home. You have given me a lot of ideas, canning kitchen, storm room, W & D in master closet great ideas. But I don't think you will ever get it done, you two will always think of something to add or change. God Bless, Good Luck and enjoy life.
Wow, what an awesome home!! I also have a tankless water heater now. I don't regret the cost,.I love how I can have the hottest shower and as long as I want! My apt is the upper of a duplex. It takes a little bit to get warmed up, but then I don't run out of hot water. Note to the MRS....Tip for storing tomatoes from my Grandma who lived to 100 and grew all her own veggies.....when you have picked them and are waiting for them to ripen, store them on the stem, not the meaty part of the tomato. It helps keep them unbruised and not rot as fast. 😉
Again, excellent video with display of options and room for expansion in the future per budget. I like the Manna water system and having 2 separate and large utility rooms. Smart move. There's a lot of extra space...so gave me actual ideas of cutting down on wasted space. Love the wife's ideas regarding cabinetry and usage. Good job.
I think you may have "overstated a bit'; I'm pretty sure you sat down with Emily and said, "Em, I am going t build us a post frame house, 48x56, two stories tall; what should we put into it?" And after Emily told you all about good cabinets, finish choices and, you know, the details, you said "Sounds like a plan"- a plan you are still working through! Best to both of you, Happy Thanksgiving! and , btw, love the commercial side of MR Post Frame- especially the running cost ones! FR
First time I have seen your channel. Definitely deserved a like and subscribe! Pretty in-depth video and I loved the thought process of every square inch of this build. I hope to one day have an amazing home like this. Kudos to this one!
This is the first vid I have watched from your channel, and I am super happy it popped up in my suggestions. I definitely need to go and watch the full build! I also super appreciate that you are showing it "as is" while also letting us know what is in the future plans. "Our son has the animal room." I think you mean trophy room Mama! Lol. What fun rooms. And pex "rainbows" for the win.
Everything was amazing 👏 you guys did such a wonderful job. It's unfortunate that now everything has gone triple the prices. I'll just keep watching you guys and admire 😭😭😭🤣🤣🙈🙈
Beautiful house I like your floors plans so much I always dream about second floor for living room I also love the way you put a laundry room in your master bedroom very nices thank you.
bonjour paul et madame..vous avait une tres jolie maison..malheuresement en france nous n avont pas ce styles de maison construite en poteau bois..je regarde vos video depuis plus d une annee.je reste en eveille.vous donner enormement d explication..continuer..merci
Why did you use standard pro rib roof tin and not hidden fastener? standing seam type ? I know the cost is much higher but the exposed fasteners will be what fails in the long term and with foamed roof deck you will never find the leak. in my opinion > I am 75% done with my build in MO I did not go post frame but everything else is the same for the same reasons of min maintenance etc
Very much in line with you both on the wood burning stove. I'm doing the same ..with blower inserts...one in the grand room and one in the Master Suite. Let's face it. ..when you build your dream home cost and energy effectively...some days ya just wanna stay in bed by the fire.
It turned out beautiful. Great job. I think you said you live in Iowa, how do you get away without a basement? Don’t you guys get tornadoes every spring?
Paul, unbelievable brother...... absolutely beautiful. Well thought out and it flows well. I have some questions regarding the home of East Martin Woodworking. I had to retire about 12 years early due to chronic back issues. I have a molder and I hope to get some builders interested and I can produce moldings along with general woodshop builds. I am going to spend some time on some of your incredible videos. I don't want to ask you a bunch of redundant questions that were covered in a video, So hopefully you wont have to deal with my crazy questions and ideas. The house I drew for my senior project in drafting class was stupid big and it had 12' ceilings and get this.... I had a basement under the walkout basement. My drafting teacher thought I was crazy. Thanks for taking the time to put together the videos and posting them. I don't mean any disrespect by any means but I really don't think you will ever really finish it to a point that you officially call it complete. It is incredible, totally bitchin'
We aren’t thrilled either. After constructing the garage we realized there was a great space for a bonus room above and had to add them for support since a room above wasn’t part of the original design
I think the house is beautiful. Just curious if you ever feel like having so much metal sheeting everywhere on walls and ceilings makes it feel less homey at all? I know it's kinda the barndo style but I grew up in a home with wood siding and sheetrock walls and ceilings so I'm not sure how all the metal would make me feel.
Thirty minute video I never once saw her take a drink of the coffee I'm surprised it didn't Spell😂 All joking aside, this is a wonderful place and a great use of space
How do you keep the water out of your storm shelter? I'm guessing it's built like a basement with a sump and perimeter drains? Absolutely amazing build!! Come to Indiana and build our barndo!
Do you have any ideas on how to improve a split foyer home using a post beam construction? I’ve been trying to think of a way to build on to what we already have
Still blows my mind that you did 95% of this build alone....on camera. A lot of brains, blood, sweat and tears into that place. The 56x13 room above the garage needs to be a well deserved trophy/man cave/archery range room with your AND 1 work slippers framed on the wall! Well done, guys. Happy hunting Paul!
It’s so fun looking back on each area and remembering back to all the work you did to make it happen.
Our pantry is 6'x9'. we have open shelving on one 6' wall with 2' extension wrapping the 9' walls to form a U. on the opposite 6' wall is cabinetry with uppers and lowers and. a wet sink. Emily and Paul, I have watched your entire build. What an amazing home! The planning and build are exceptional. Great job.
Thank you for the in depth update on your home build. Thank you especially for room sizes and window sill heights!.

This has been one of the best build series I've seen. Great layout and a beautiful home.

the Mrs. looks like such a boss - love her vibe and demeanor

Please, please, please, keep us updated on the extra room over the garage. That sounds like such an interesting project.
Canning Kitchen!!!!!! You two have thought of everything. This home is amazing 👏
Amazing build !! Love the honesty from mom about the small things

Beautiful! I’m obsessed with the kitchen and bathroom cabinets!!
I like his honesty saying time and money allows.

It's like MTV cribs. Nice layout.
Whenever I see "Barndom" I react. That's the Swedish word for "Childhood"... 😄
Beautiful and wonderful home, congratulations to you and your generous family
Thank you!
Congratulations on such a well executed project. Its massive! In Europe we house army divisions in buildings this size
Love the large flag. The whole house is amazing.

All I can say is WOW. I was wondering if this would be an option for my next home, it would be much smaller but I love this idea!
So many pillows
This house is amazing. Wow. I think it’s one of the best ones I’ve seen in a while.
Thank you so much
Congratulations
It’s been fun following along for most of this project. Absolutely beautiful homestead.
This is truly amazing. Im starting my design to build a commercial auto shop and two story living side. Im 32, I plan to start the build before im 40.

Awesome home! Thanks for sharing it with the world.
Thank you! We always hope to help and inspire others
Looks amazing Paul! Well done good and faithful servant!

Amazing home! I want to do this so bad, but it will be a few years before we can.
The penny tile looks perfect. I couldn't tell the splits between the tile sheets.
I truly enjoyed your build series. Thank you for sharing.

what is the brand of wood burning stove you have and what size is it ? Thanks for answering me. Much appreciated.
We have 3 kids as well and that's Beautiful
Thank you!
Incredible job. The only part I strongly dislike are the steel columns in the garage.
We aren’t thrilled either. After constructing the garage we realized there was a great space for a bonus room above and had to add them for support since a room above wasn’t part of the original design

Only metal is on the exterior. Inside is all drywall and wood.

Love the Chanel Marshal remodel
Thank you!
How do you keep the water out of your storm shelter? I'm guessing it's built like a basement with a sump and perimeter drains? Absolutely amazing build!! Come to Indiana and build our barndo!
It is essentially a basement and has a sump pump. No water issues. Happy new year!
Do you have any problems trying to make a phone call in a metal building? I always lose service if I go into a metal building.
Absolutely amazing efficient design ... do u have dawn plans for this house .... and would u be willing to sell the blueprints
Thank you! Yes here are the plans mrpostframe.com/mad-county-original/
Great video! You did really nice work
Excellent vid!.. great building job can’t wait to see the final product.
Thank you!
Do you have any ideas on how to improve a split foyer home using a post beam construction? I’ve been trying to think of a way to build on to what we already have
Would/did you ever consider a separate/second entrance directly to the master suite from the garage?
So beautiful
Nice Build!
Does the Spirovent periodically produce mist? I added a 1/2" Female adapter and piped it to a drain, just in case.
Question: I will have a similar sized great room (27 foot vaulted ceilings) with radiant floor. Did you need a fan to push the heat back down?
Beautiful home. What software did you use for your design?
Wow such a great project..New sub very impressed. Thanks
I really love your house. I would like to have one built. But not sure of the cost. Amazing job on your build
Thank you! To have it built will be much more but a DIY build can save a lot! Here’s our material breakdown ruclips.net/video/K0qe3RyO4hg/видео.html
Wait, what? What do you mean NO basement??? Why not? And what about that storm shelter? We have tornadoes plus I like the storage. Please explain. ;-)
This is amazing! God bless!
Thanks!
Pretty sweet home, dude.
Very nice! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Wow great video. You gained a subscriber for sure!
Welcome aboard! Thanks for watching!
Hey! how much did it cost or how much would same thing cost for me?
Pretty cool!
Awesome home, looks like its very well done. I like the utility rooms, nice and spacious. What was your price per sq/ft on something like this?
Editing our final cost video should be our this week. Stay tuned!
