I dont have a particular set i love. I'm an accessory girl. Any types of animals, books, food, window are cool, plants those types of things. (Yes i buy sets based on accessories most times)

Just to clarify, those weren't knock off Lego figures, the figures like General Mayhem are from a Lego series called Lego Friends. Which is marketed more towards younger girls. The mini-figures were made a bit larger with more human features. In fact, every Brick toy in the movie are Lego products, like the Duplo aliens are owned by Lego as well.

Yeah when I was younger I played with Lego friends a lot and can confirm they aren’t knock offs
The figures in the systar system are still official LEGO, they’re called minidolls and are used in less themes.
I’ve noticed they use them in the Friends Lego sets and Disney Princess Lego sets. My daughter has some of them.

Rex was also played by Chris Pratt, and his intro was a nod to his other works - galaxy defender (Star Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy and other Marvel movies), the archaeologist (I'm not sure about that ref), cowboy (Magnificent Seven , The Kid) and raptor trainer (Jurassic World 1, 2 and upcoming 3). Overall the movie is great

Fun fact: General Mayhem is voiced by Stephanie Beatriz, the girl who voices Mirabel in Encanto.
I took my minifigure of Mirabel and gave her the helmet of general mayhem as a form of joke

I was in a theater with a bunch of kids during the false ending, and during this emotional moment when Benny says "I thnk I finally get Radiohead" I absolutely burst out laughng and then felt like a total cad, haha.
I would say that with girls there can definitely be a similar vibe, although it can go two ways. Either trying to appear 'mature/sexy' or (like I did) going through a kind of goth phase to appear cool/edgy/dark. Basically what Lucy did, haha.
I love Lego Movie 2 - fun fact, I was actually invited to watch it at the Warner Bros HQ in London about two weeks before it premiered, and I loved it even then. The songs absolutely did get stuck inside my head. I hate that Lego gave up on making the movies, supposedly because they had no impact on toy sales. Loved your reactions, give The Lego Ninjago Movie a try, and can't wait for Mask of the Phantasm!

fun fact: the piece rex holds at the end is the flux capacitor from the delorian from back to the future. also those wierd figures are not discount lego. they are minidolls included in sets targeted towards girls
You should also react to the LEGO Ninjago movie, most people seem to skip that one but I still think it's a fun watch
Also the "bootleg lego" are actually Minidolls from what is more or less the "girl" LEGO sets, they never mixed the minifigures and the minidolls before until this movie which was fun for sure.
The intermission art style was actually from a Unikitty spin-off show that was made which is kinda its own thing, I think it was also referenced earlier in the movie too. Haven't seen it but it might be good.

What a pity that Warner Bros no longer has the rights to lego to make movies. I would have loved for them to release a third part, but let's see now, what does Universal do with the rights? :(

As others mentioned the Lego Friends figures are all from sets targeting 'girls'... this film led to the first sets with both types of Lego characters. I'm proud to have a set with both Lucy and General Sweet Mayhem sitting in my office!
Also in the brick-pile/melting room the slave like workers with dog heads were Lego Fabuland characters from the early 80s... I know I have a couple of those in my parents attic... poor guys!

none of these are knock off legos. some are duplos, some are regular legos, and some are from the lego friends line that is marketed towards girls (girl characters, more people like figures instead of the boxy ones, and donein more "girl" colors and themes) a lot of the sets are actually pretty cool and i like the look of the figures even if its not traditional lego look.
I actually recently watched this with my younger brother and I loved it 🤣🤣

Great reaction guys this movie was so great, I remember when the first one came out and I was convinced it was gonna be nothing but a cynical cash grab and when I finally got round to watching it I couldn't believe how great it was and they have only got better since.
Just one small point though, the longer legged other characters in this such as general mayhem are not knock of lego they are lego branded mini dolls which are used by lego instead of regular minifigures in there lego friends and disney princes sets that are aimed at young girls.
Also the aliens at the start are also not knock offs, they are made of duplo which is Lego's building block line for very young children such as toddlers who would be in danger of choking on regular sized lego bricks and figures.
And the message
Some, like Lucy think it's "naive" or "silly" for people to still be upbeat and optimistic during a big crisis but I ask you...why is that so?
I believe one SHOULD retain some sliver of positive/optimistsm, even during the apocalypse...it's certainly better than looting or killing each other
Besides Emmett is perfect as he is. When he made that lego heart for the duplos it was adorable and he unintentionally learned why they were acting out 😢.
I wanna see you guys react to Turbo and Home. I feel like they're so underrated and underapreciated
OMGGGG I freaking LOVE Home and Turbo! I feel like almost no one remembers Turbo, and even fewer remember Home. I even watched the entire Netflix 2D spinoff series after Home, titled "Home: Adventures of Tip and Oh" and really liked it!
So, this maybe doesn't count as animation (it's puppets), but if you want another movie (but one that is much edgier/more offensive) that is kind of itself a parody of action tropes, Team America: World Police is hilarious (and actually also a fairly well done movie).

Yes!!! All the time!!! Things like Rango and Kubo are huge inspirations
I watched it ''last year'' for the first time, I am 16 (also watched it as 16) but when I watched it for the first time it almost made me kind of emotional. Like when you're alone and in the vibe you feel the emotions of the movie... even if you're a teenager. I love this movie! (btw it looks like I am the 100th reaction XD)

you meantuioned chris pratt being in jurassic world. have you seent he jurassic park movies? or do you plan to watch them? there are 5 right now but a new one is coming out this year. they are varying levels of good but they all have good actors in them and i honestly love all of them. even if you skipped 2 and 3 the original and the newer ones would be cool (though i like 2 and 3 personally and those show the original characters later on and what happened with them. )

i think its sorta guy specific in the way that he was tryting to grow up and be tough. i thinkt hat girls also feel the pressure to grow up but it looks a little different. edgy still but also maybe more like trying to be sexy and things that they think are going to make them more of a "woman" where as guys its more like tough/strong/not as emotional ect. both tend to go overboard into that almost parody realm you were tlaking about. they are just different versions of it.
I actually would disagree. I feel like when growing up, girls get to a point where liking pink, playing with Barbies, etc. etc. is kind of a point of shame, especially now with all these "strong, female characters" looking and acting like men.
@@lilacpen8678 those things are child things not womanly things. Strong female characters are not a bad thing. They don't look like men, they look like women dressed to do something besides be decorative. You just associate that with men.
@@snarkysquirrel But they're not "strong female characters," they're male characters given a female body, given to girls as a "superior" form of femininity. That's not feminism, that's misogyny in a wig.
Girls are being taught that wearing dresses or being kind are weaknesses and that "strong women" dress, fight, and act like men. At the end of the day, not only is it unrealistic, it's horrible for the self esteem of young girls. An average girl won't be able to throw a punch as well as an average boy, we just don't build muscle like they do. That's not where our strengths lie, but media now seems to think it needs to lie to us, _placate_ us, so we feel on the same level as them instead of treating the strengths we _do_ have as important.

I enjoyed the ninjago movie but it is my least favourite of the ,ego movies. Also as a fan of the show I didnt like that they changed the characters so much from there show versions especially making Garmadon much more of a goofy villain rather than his more serious and well spoken show counterpart.

@@whitenoisereacts I haven’t seen the show myself, but I’ve checked out a lot of videos and reviews of the show. RWBY (pronounced “ruby”) is an english 3D animated series (often mistakingly called an anime) that is both very popular and controversial. Basically it’s about a group of 4 girls fighting monsters in a world filled with “magic”. The quality of the show is seen as pretty mixed with the beginning as the better part, but most people agree that the fight choreography of the first few volumes (seasons) are the best part.
@@whitenoisereacts an animated series produced by Rooster Teeth. The series has gone downhill in the eyes of most people ever since the original creator, Monty Oum, passed away. That said, the series is free to watch on RUclips, and Monty’s animation is absolutely amazing for the battle scenes, so I recommend watching it
love RWBY especially the first few seasons. It was a low budget animated web series by Rooster Teeth that got a bigger budget each season. I think it's great for animators to check out especially those that want to see how a low budget project can become successful. I actually think it's really cool that it's the first show that I can think of that was an American based animated series a bit inspired by anime that was later launched in Japan as a tv series with Japanese voice actors (because I'm so use to seeing the reverse from the past tv shows in the US using Japanese footage as TV shows just look at Speed Racer, Dragon Ball, Power Rangers, list goes on). Do your self a favor at a least check out the trailers for the show called Red Trailer, White Trailer, Black Trailer, and Yellow Trailer. If you don't care anything about spoilers then check out Season 8 trailer to see how far the show has come in animation.
