New York is so hectic but you guys are so calm and happy! Two weeks ago when I got my Brompton we thought about eating at Johns but settled on a great Mexican restaurant instead. We Love your videos which I now use to convince my wife to let us get her a Brompton 😁
How disappointing that the Brompton Junction store was closed after you may a special trip with the baby no less! I doubt that would happen in London where I live. I was born and raised in NYC and I love seeing how the city has changed on your journeys.
Thanks for making this video. I am from London and was intrigued to see your journey on those dreadfully paved New York streets. The city council should do more for cyclists. I suffered for your wheels and lower back! Being an avid Brompton fan from 1985 I am embarrassed by the fact that you bought your bikes from a main dealer which appears to be incompetent of the high standards which Brompton cycles offer. In all my time with the two bikes ( Black Edition and an older version from 1999, I HAVE NEVER COME ACROSS A STORE WHICH HAD IRREGULAR OPENING OURS. You should share your story with Brompton. May your rides be ever more colorful. Love you bike, never leave it out of sight. Over here, there is a high demand for Bromptons.
Thank you for the feedback. Since I do all the work on my Brompton I actually never went back so I am not sure what happened. I've gotten use to irregular things happening in New York. It happens more than you would think. When I saw you write 1985 I thought of the cooler older models that I see online. There is something "magical" with the Bromtons.
Lovely video. Nice to see the city's progress for bicycles - I was there in 2011 lately. But what a bummer that the junction didn't inform you about the closing time...
🧑🏼🦲The city is improving the bike lanes all over the city. You will be surprised at the difference in a few years 👍🏼 Not perfect but at least it is improving overall.
I've never been to America and I dream to visit it. Thank you for giving me the tour on RUclips👍🏼it's fun to watch. And I never saw a kid passenger on a Brompton! BTW, it's illegal here in Hong Kong🤣.... some people do it though.... but on the rear rack.
First off love your channel. Was a little surprised that you were unfamiliar with the gears since it is identical to the p-line you had. Cables stretch with use and i suspect you are a heavy user. Anyway there is an adjustment for cable tension at the shifter end you just need to turn it a quarter to half turn to increase tension (most likely) if that doesn’t fix it then it your high or low limit screw. I hope they explained it to ya when they finally reopened.
We also have a newly built underground train below Copenhagen, which is totally driver less and you may sit in front and look into the tunnel ahead. After some initial problems, where passengers not always arrived at their original destinations, it now functions fine and functions most day and nigth transporting passengers.
How totally unprofessional of Brompton not to at least have posted a sign in the window giving a brief explanation as to why they decided to close a flagship store on a Saturday , maybe the staff were all out riding their T lines .
When I asked Brompton Junction NYC when I should come in for my T Line Check up the person there told me to make an appointment because they were extremely short staffed as many employees quit once the city opened up more.
The gear problems likely just need a minor adjustment. I think every new bike I have ever owned has needed a small adjustment to the gears after a month or so of use. Gear cables usually stretch a little in the first few weeks and that tends to slightly affect the gear selection.
Good parenting! Keeping safety first: masks, helmet, bike-lane precautions. On another note, can't believe the key New York Brompton store would be closed without any advanced notice. Not a good business approach. Great store though in a great location for exploring.
I remove those rear rolling wheels since they keep hitting on by shoes when I pedal. Brompton should change their frame design and relocate those wheels further back.
👩🏼🦲I had that problem sometimes too. The T-line and Superlight custom are light enough I don't need to roll them. The steel bike needs the rolling wheels. That one is heavy 🤣
More shocking than a closed shop within the appointment time is the kind of problems that you mentioned in the beginning, after paying so much cash (probably for you it's like nothing) for a bike, there should be a trouble free enjoyment for years and years after purchasing.
👩🏻 I think people enjoy biking everywhere in Japan. I hear a lot about Shimanami Kaido and Biwako. But you should really google and popular routes around the area you are visiting.
A bikelane only in one side, and having to cross roads to be able to ride it??? It would never function in Denmark, where we have made bikelanes in both sides, for the ease of traffic and less danger for cyclists. Of course we use our bikelanes very much at all times during day and nigth, as efficient means to get around.
The bike lane design here is very strange and random in some locations. The increase in bicycle riders is causing many accidents everyday. Bridges are the most dangerous and there are mopeds speeding in the bike lane when they are suppose to be using the main road.
I will give that a try. I always save the seatpost for last. I found that if I pull the tire up, the seatpost goes down smoothly. This my be happening because I removed the fenders and use smaller ezy wheels.
If you watch official brompton fold video you will see handle bar last. I had same issue but do it in that order and seat post folds smoothly every time.
I fold in the same order as you, but I believe both fold orders for the final two steps are considered acceptable. Here is a very old video of the Brompton fold by, I believe, none other than Andrew Ritchie, the inventor of the Brompton bike and founder of the company: uwereimann d0t de slɑsh brompton slɑsh anigifs underscore brompton slɑsh abbau2 d0t gif
Also though now former American Ambassador, Carla Sands (Trump!!!) meant that most Danes couldn't even afford to buy a car, and that was why so many more Danes used a bike in the city😂!! Well even now being a basic pensioner, as my wife, I also own a rather new car. 😀
At least the baby got his train & city ride experience, so it's not all lost. Beautiful videos, keep them coming.
🧑🏼🦲Thank you. We plan on taking him more this summer.
Your family are the best tour guides in NY! awesome video!
Great video! Love seeing you and your family ride together.
I’ve enjoyed being in your company on RUclips. Thanks for sharing your day.
Kid is as lovely as the bike👍🏼😍
wat a nice video of NYC................i like it
Love your guys videos ❤
Your baby is so cute. !!!!
Another great tour of the city. 👍🏻❤️
I love you guys 👍🥰

👩🏼🦲We go early in the morning a lot and there are less people. If you avoid the busy areas, riding is easier.
Nice vlog I love it! Greetings from Philippines
Loved it,thanks guys ❤️👍
This is my third or fourth time watching this video. And I just realized why you’re son screamed like that he was copying the car horn so funny.
👩🏻 Yes, Tan Tan was copying the car horn. We thought it was funny, too. 😊

Good opening comment about the chain weight compared to a Brompton.
great adventure for your child 😍
Excellent Video, as usually!!

I’m in the process of buying a c line and later on after I sale some of my other bikes I’m going to buy that p line.
It is the best stroller for a kid in the city.

Wow that is pretty cool. It is nice to hear technology working. I would like to buy an autopilot vehicle one day and not have to drive anymore.
How totally unprofessional of Brompton not to at least have posted a sign in the window giving a brief explanation as to why they decided to close a flagship store on a Saturday , maybe the staff were all out riding their T lines .
In my home, Denmark most special stores are closed from saturday afternoon and the rest of the weekend.
Hope your next appt is better

🧑🏼🦲Thanks. It has been working fine since 👍🏼 I love the bike so far.
Interesting to see the bike lanes in NYC. Plus, love the Viking helmet design, I wish Nutcase would make these designs for us bigger kids (adults).
🧑🏼🦲 Me too! It was on sale so we got a good deal!
Never knowing what kind of CitiBike I would get was part of my decision to get a Brompton last year.
Such a cute family.

You ride on 32nd right by where I get of the train or turn on my bike to go to one of my jobs.

Good job keeping his mask on. Yay!
30$ for a pizza!? That's more than here in expensive Norway!
👩🏼🦲 Everything in the city costs so much! That is why I don't go often.
How was the B17 saddle doing on a rainy day?
I haven't had any problems with it. I have been riding all winter. I use sno seal underneath to protect it from water.
What a lovely video!!! Just wonder where can I purchase the child seat as like in your video? Trying find one for my child too. Thanks!!
www.freedomfoldingbikes.com/milian-parts-pere-child-seat-adaptor.html
🧑🏼🦲They are the only dealer that I know of in the United States. There maybe other places depending on which country your in ✌️
I see. By the way thanks
Hi thanks for the nice videos.
I have a question not related to Brompton, what brand are your glasses?
Br, Lars Windeman
👩🏻Thank you!! The glasses are made by Ombraz Glasses!
@@BromptonFamilyTime Thank you!
Do you have a link for the backpack you are using?
It was made by Manhattan Portage For Bike New York. They don't make it anymore but occasionally they will make new versions using recycled banners.
Hi,
love the video... as a confused European though... you are paying cash and they are charging you a Card Handling Fee? Im confused....
🙋🏻♀Hi. We found it out when we were editing the videos. We were like LOOOOK! WHAAAAT!? Yes we were also confused. lol
More shocking than a closed shop within the appointment time is the kind of problems that you mentioned in the beginning, after paying so much cash (probably for you it's like nothing) for a bike, there should be a trouble free enjoyment for years and years after purchasing.
🧑🏼🦲The bike is awesome! I consider my Bromptons as vehicle replacements and they have changed my experience on my daily life for the better ✌️
What day was that? On their Instagram they do mention when they might be closed for staff training or inventory.
It was on Saturday March 26. I will call ahead next time I plan on going.
Isn’t there a great Brompton bike store on East 13th street?
Bfold. I've bought many things there. One of the few places I trust my Brompton 👍🏼
U guys should have checked B Fold then. He's a folding bike specialist.
I love BFold! I've bought many things from David for many years including a CHPT3.
Ooh nice.
Does this bike have any warranty?
The frame has a 7 year warranty if you register the bike after purchase.
Did you ever find out why Brompton Junction was closed? I live nearby and I’m surprised they were closed after giving you an appointment.
🧑🏼🦲No I haven't. I will ask them next time I go in a few weeks if I am in the area. I hope nothing bad happened there.
Are you doing the 5 Boro Bike Tour this year with the Brompton Mafia group? There will be be 42+ of us.
How many Bromptons are in the family exactly?
Currently three. I have owned about ten (I lost track of how many) in all gear configurations except the single speed.
hi Sir, i super liked your Videos esp with your family.

So, you spent five grand on a “T”, got a $30 pizza, had an appointment at the “Junction” and they did not show up !
Not good, Brompton!
They owe you!
The pizza was so good! I haven't been back yet.
What bike computer is that?
Cateye Urban Wireless. It's awesome for $25!
Hi. Always put your seat post down before you fold the handlebar. This will stop the seat post catching at bottom.

Hi. I really enjoy your videos. I am considering getting the same child seat, does the extra weight on the middle of the frame/hinge bother you?
🧑🏼🦲 I weigh 125lbs and the baby is an additional 30 lbs so we are within the weight limit of the bike. I haven't noticed any problems with using it.
