I've driven my mom's 2012 Touareg and I do actually forget that I'm not driving a sportscar but rather a large SUV. It's so much fun to drive! Great review
I towed a 2.6 tonne tandem caravan around Australia for 2.5 years and it was simply sensational, fuel mileage was outstanding and she never ran out of steam despite some quite challenging climbs. Compared to the Toyota Landcruiser which is so popular here she held her own. The weight of the Treg was a real bonus when towing as the arse sat still in all conditions and the torque you mentioned was another bonus. Tyre wear and brakes were also fair. If I have one problem with the Treg it is that I dont think the electrics are as good as they should be and we had endless probs with ACC, heaters, fans and ac as well as sensors. You need a healthy wallet to support the VW dealership service charges.
Thank you for this. I was specifically looking for an SUV to tow my car trailer and car (5000 lbs) and you had exactly that in your video which is extremely rare in car reviews. That answered my question 100% and the Touareg is definitely top of my list to replace my aging (gas guzzling) Yukon.
Thanks for demonstrating its towing capabilities
Never heard of your reviews before, this was my first time watching one. Excellent job! I really enjoyed it, and I watch a lot of reviews.
Great review. So often when you buy a multi-purpose vehicle there are compromises and the Touareg seems to have the least of them. I appreciate your well rounded and practical review which pretty much matches exactly what I am looking for in a vehicle and has helped to solidify my decision.
Excellent review! I really like your unpretentious, objective and hands-on approach. It is refreshingly different from that of some of the so-called "big guns" who tell us more about their own prejudices than the actual, everyday merits of the vehicle itself.
Have owned 2 different touregs v8 2004 and tdi 2014. Both have been great vehicles.
Why did you sell them?
@@danmc2678 because it’s old
@@mateuscabrerait would still be running, those TDIs get over 300k
We didn't use one when testing the Touareg and it really didn't need one. There are weight distribution systems out there if towing a heavier load or for vehicles that seem to need it more. With the 'reg being so heavy itself, it handled the weight quite well. With the Chevy Tahoe I own, it is much more finicky and could benefit from one. Dave
Very nice video.
really good and complete review of the best suv :)
The one thing I find surprising is that even in its most expensive versions the Touareg does not seem to offer the option of ventilated seating. It is something that you never think about until you ride in a car that actually has that feature. After experiencing it I decided that my next car purchase needs that feature. I love that Volkswagen is offering the american car buyer the option of a diesel engine. I hope other car companies decide to do the same.
It was the TDI. Lots more information about the vehicle on our website's article about it (below the video in the summary section, there's a direct link to it). Dave
No problems at all with mine. The "problem" vehicles seemed to have been the intro models in 2004 and some early 2005. Of course there are 2004 owners that haven't had problems. Get a certified one that extends the warranty.
Thanks
Buy a used one. I bought my 2006 V8 Touareg in '09 for $21000. MSRP was $42000. Great tow vehicle. 12mpg with an open trailer and my ITB Golf with gear on it.
VWRalf Check this out. Things are a bit brighter now. Real world towing. ruclips.net/video/L0N1etQAaYU/видео.html
Is there a leveling system when you tow? I've noticed when you took off with the trailer the read end sunk a bit
So much for a potential acting career for me, eh? :) Weird how a silly camera comes on and people including myself get so nervous. This was one of our first videos; I'm sure we'll become better as we gain more experience.
How has reliability been for you? That's my biggest area of concern with VWs.
Perfect 83000 miles, enjoyed every one !
Practice makes perfect- an acting career isn't necessarily off the table :P
really nice that honda prelude its beutiful😜😜😜😜😜😜😜
Did the guy mention japanese technology?
Transmission in this touareg is Japanese Aisin by toyota.
i stay with my RX450h !
oh sorry, wrong video comment, my computer is messing up...
Im buying one with 87000 will it last a long time like 150,000?
Yes if really good engine oil is used and changed every 10,000 miles.
@@benscupps7132 good . I need too find a Touareg
If your getting the tdi they will go 250,000 or more miles.
@@GradyRho92 I want a touereg tdi under 90k miles
Jeffrey Kumjian with the tdi’s, if maintenance is performed there basically indestructible.
He looks out of breath and oddly worried and sweaty.
Cokane for breakfast 😅
What a pathetic review. How about telling us what you DONT like about the vehicle!!!!
maybe the car is flawless
I found it to be a great review
this video is a joke....a complete waste of time
What a sad video. It's a joke.
