    Nice timing, I did my 1st forearm stand today (managed to do it away from the wall). It really is even harder than holding a handstand and feels quite strange, feels like I'm using my traps to balance. Also managed to pike press to headstand, in hopes of eventually pressing to handstand ;s

I have been struggling with the planche for two years now and find it difficult to transition from the crane into tuck planche, I attempt most exercises from the floor and occasionally on the dip bar and parellettes. I viewed your tutorial with FAQfitness about the Vsit and I practice the stretch you advised also the Vsit negative reps however I feel stiff around the quads and hip flexor region.

    i enjoyed your previous handstand and bakasana videos. In particular, your HOLD THE HS LONGER video was super excellent..... In the current video, you mentioned common mistakes of depressing and retraction of scapula - and that instead we should elevate and protract the scapula... But don't you mean the opposite--
    shouldn't we depress and protract the scapula!!?!

    • @SaturnoMovement
      @SaturnoMovement  6 лет назад

      Hey Steven! nope. In these two (or three actually) inversions your scapula is protracted and Elevated. In the previous two (crow and crane) Your Scapula is protracted and depressed!

    • @SaturnoMovement
      @SaturnoMovement  6 лет назад +1

      Of course bro. Currently suffering on both of them. Pain come and goes as part of putting so much pressure on them. The reason cannot really be tell 100% accurately, especially without assessing you personally. Best remedy: Sleep good, lost of water, eat properly and if pain is chronic during an exercise stop but if you only feel a bit of discomfort there is no need for it. Again, do not take my work for it, injuries are tricky and we are all different. In my experience complete rest (which is what most doctors recommend) does not really cut it. best of luck!

    • @julied6557
      @julied6557 6 лет назад +1

      Sounds like you may have tennis elbow if the pain is in the outer edge, golfer's elbow is on the inside. Most of the problems in this area arise from the wrist or the shoulder. Gentle massage with a lacrosse ball or similar against a wall working up the arm can help and the same around the trapezius and delts. Also worth making sure you're engaging your back muscles/core properly, especially the serratus anterior which can take the strain off the elbows.

    Hi Gabo. I have done the tripod headstand since elementary school, and even though I very seldom practice, I can always do it. However, when I do the wall walks to practice the handstand I am super afraid and my hands only get as close as 45cm from the wall. Do you think headstand can help me get more confidence to try the handstand?

    • @SaturnoMovement

    • @leticiamendonca7986
      @leticiamendonca7986 6 лет назад

      Don't know about the headstand because I have not experienced that fall in a headstand yet even though I do it every day. If I have to guess, push your shoulders to create a little clearance between the ground and your head, just before the fall, so that your upper back hits the floor before the head or the lower back. That said, I keep falling during the forearm practice :) so I keep two yoga mats as a cushion. You might start to enjoy the fall as long as your neck is safe. I do! Hope this helps :)

    • @julied6557
      @julied6557 6 лет назад

      Try to release the hands and roll out of it - that's the safest way. We all fall sometimes, best to make sure you practice on a floor that isn't too hard. As Gabo says practicing near a wall can help. Position your hands about 10 inches away so that you're not too near but if you do wobble you can use the wall to get your balance.

      1. Of course there is a difference. big one.
      2. It does not matter. both work.
      3. Sure :)

    Are there any technique to come down if I fall forward(overbalance) in the tripod headstand?

      How about if I fall forward when I try it freestanding? Are there some exit methods that is safe? Like the handstand we can forward roll or twist to the side

      Until you feel confortable. Ideally 10 breaths is a good place to look for. Ancient Yogis used to hold it for hours so...just do your best 😄

    Why I feel sudden pain in back and waist next morning or during sleeping time, after doing headstand or shoulder stand?? Is it any side-effect or my body weakness??

      Your shoulders must have collapsed, you had not enough upper body strength and flexibility (weak and tight hip flexors) to keep your spine straight. Therefore, you got hurt in back and waist. Forearm stand is much more difficult than headstand. Focus on headstand and exercises for upper body strength, mobility & flexibility first before you move on to forearm stand. Good forward folds will help you to increase the flexibility of your spine and to reduce back pain.
