I have an oily scalp and I suffered from severe dandruff for years. What worked for me:
1. Avoiding oil. I oil only once a week nowadays and wash it off within an hour.
2. Using a 1% ketoconazole shampoo for a few weeks (and then stopping once fixed).
3. Drinking lots of water.
4. Using Head and Shoulders shampoo every alternate day regularly for prevention.

Few things i like to add: Starch and dairy products does effect dandruff. Diet play important role.

My hairs are good no more drynesss because it dont remove all natural oil but there is lit bit flakiness
I have tried several methods over years. What helped finally was medicated shampoos: Selsun and Nizral 2% and some normal shampoo applied alternatively, in total around 4 days a week. Using just normal non-medicated shampoo that claim to cure Dandruff does not help if used exclusively, from my experience

Based on my research following are some of the anti dandruff shampoo (Only for reference, do consult dermatologist as he suggested in video) :
1. Danclear Shampoo (1st try - Worked well for me)
2. Keraglo- AD (Good)
3. Scalpe
4. Keto Clean
5. Salisia KT (Currently Using - might test another or go back to Danclear)
