  • This SIMPLE Resin TRICK Changes EVERYTHING!... A Resin Art Video by Daniel Cooper
Here is a Resin Art video testing out my new dipping pots with my dipping resin that I created. It is so cheap to make and such great fun to play with too! I absolutely adore how these turned out, maybe they needed another thick layer to hide those inner wires? That can always be dipped again or just add more colored resin over the top after.
You could potentially pre make any color and store away for future use, again, this is still in the experimental phase, I will make some and store it away to see if it is 100% usable after storage, I can't see why it would not work! THIS IS EPIC!!!
Here is the the link to ‪@Sundiyday‬ :
    www.youtube.co...
And here is the video that inspired me to try this project, and only after watching this whilst finding the links did I realize there was a longer video (below this one) which shows that I should have weaved my wires together at the base - This is why I had issues opening my petals!

Had a question on how long it would last in the pot, it should be for as long as the expiry date is on the resin but remember, this is still in experiments, I will of course keep testing and update you all. I do not see any reason for this to go wrong at present 😊

    • @MarcysArtsyFartsyCreations
      @MarcysArtsyFartsyCreations Год назад +1

I agree, the only thing that might play into a shorter expiry time would be unknown factors like contaminants from the pva glue and any ink/mica used, but I don't think it would affect the shelf life by much!

As a wire wrapper since 2016 I can tell you that you have to twist against the existing twist and fold the first and last flowers straight out horizontally and then you can get the rest of them to lay flat following them and then you can use a pencil and roll the petals up to curve them up to the bud shape ❤🎉 hope that helps and yes you are 100% right half round wire is making it hard for you 😂❤

You're getting better and better with the wire! Nice work! 👏😁 The earrings turned out really pretty. 😍 The small mistakes just give them character. 😅
A tip for working with twisting half round wire is that you can get different effects when twisting it in different ways. If you want it to look almost like round wire, lay the flat edges against each other the length of the wire until it's as completely even as you can get it, put your pliers at the very end of the wire along the same axis (meaning if your wire is horizontal then your pliers should be too) and twist the wire, not the pliers, or both at the same time. You can do the same with the round sides facing each other and you'll get an almost flat twist look. Finally you can leave one end about 1/4 to 1/3 shorter than the other and simply wrap the longer wire around the shorter one, keeping in mind which side you want facing outwards. Each method gives you a different look so it's great for making similar but not identical pieces. BTW, twisting each single wire on it's own and then twisting them together is also an option that gives a unique look. Have fun with that! 😉👍

Thank you, I did try keeping them flat but they had a mind of their own so I just went with the flow 😂🤣

I’ve been following SunDiyDay for a long time because I do mostly polymer clay things, and when she started using dip resin I fell in love with it, but I couldn’t get it shipped to Sweden. Then you came along and made it possible and I was so excited. Now you’re making a video from one of her tutorials and it’s like it’s come full circle for me. I love it.
I loved the video, and I really love how you mostly keep your struggles in. It’s like you said, we need to see how to fix things, that’s the way to truly learn something. Beautiful earrings in the end. Thank you 🤗

Wendy actually was NOT using a resin dip, but some other dip medium (after making her wire shapes). The medium simply dried...like paint needs to. Apparently, if it gets too warm (or something like that), it disintegrates.

You should weigh the resin before you put the glue in and after you put the glue in to reiterate how little glue you use. That would probably make it very clear. I’d say the weight of the resin would be the same before and after.

Thanks, would be very tricky to get an exact weight without expensive scales

They are pretty, I like the silver. As a non wire rapper cos I always fail, can I suggest doing the 5 wraps over the first tail, would that work? goodness me I'm even laughing at my suggestion but there may be some logic in it 😂

I missed a step, I should have used the end tail after the 5 wraps to feed under them all to hold them in place better 🙈
