I'm really happy Roland finally made a full sized kit like this. They weren't the first, but they created something really high quality and worth buying. I wish this came out 8 years ago
Im looking this thing on Sweetwater and its on my wish list Im trying to tell myself all the reasons I dont need it. I have accumulated 3 entire acoustic drum kits. I realized how loud they are and could practice more with the mesh heads.
Just discovered your channel...always excited to see other open-handed drummers. I'm still at the beginning of my drumming journey and one of the skills I've been struggling with is playing 16th note beats on the hi-hat. I currently have an extra snare setup to the left of the hi-hat just for playing such beats. I'm curious - how do you play such beats? Do you just lead with your right hand so that your right hand is then free to strike the normally placed snare? Would love to see a video on that. I've seen other open-handed players who will setup a 2nd hi-hat to the right of the snare to better accommodate 16th note hi-hate beats. Thoughts?
How does these pads feel in comparison to older ones in terms of feel and rebound? Also how is it in terms of acoustic noise/volume? Would be great to hear your thoughts on it
Hey Ben. You said you plug the brain in with the USB and it creates 28 channels.. Can I ask which programme you're using and are you then running something like superior drummer for the sounds or does the sound module supply them this way? I'm not tech savvy but I have a TD50 and want to start recording beats to send to my guitarist and honestly.. I haven't got a clue where to even start. Any advice would be really appreciated thanks.
Ive had the Td 50 and 30, and moved back to an acoustic kit, to me biggest waste of money, the hi hats are junk, unreliable, that my opinion and im sure lots will disagree, but acoustic with the new Yamaha EAD 10 is amazing...
Your money, your choice, but as an objective fact one thing the Roland kits are NOT is "unreliable". I've had some Roland components for 20 years and have been hitting them with sticks regularly without issues. I've been hitting the same VH-11 hihat for 8 years now without any issues. As for the A vs E issues, yeah sure I'd rather play an acoustic kit, but it's certainly not cheaper once you factor in the house you need to buy in order to do so :)

Great video. Thanks for posting. What is the kit you are playing to music at the end. Sounds awesome
I finally see a lefty playing in a right drumset set up. I play exactly like that.

At last am electronic kit I can get along with it 😎🥳
Looks great but sounds very electric. However, if you Trade in that TD27 for the TD 50X (not the TD 50) this would be a slamming kit.
Light far too low to really see the kit
Still like acoustic ones more, I started on an acoustic too
can you play standard brushes on the snare?
you can. Just have to switch that kit patch to brushes/sweep sensing mode
No beard, no earrings, no sticky up hair, however still the same mint drumming 👍🏻
Haha the look moves on but the groove remains 🤣
They made the next vad and it has a digital high hat 😳
I love that youre back! big fan! im so glad youve done away with the nu metal facial hair! just kidding! cheers!
Haha thanks dude

700 sounds and not one of them sounds like a top notch real acoustic drum set.
blah blah blah blah blah
