Honestly we don’t bump fish because we don’t care about the size. In todays world that’s what everyone is so overly concerned about. A musky is a musky! Some people fish waters with smaller fish and some fish waters with large fish. Just the way it is. We’re fortunate to have large fish 👍
@@devotedoutdoors um, you're literally pulling the fish off the bump boards in the videos to release em, you just didnt say how big... was just curious, thats all...
Another great video, really enjoying the content! Curious if there are certain conditions such as water temps that prompt you to start looking to open water in the early season? I find myself constantly wanting to fish new weed growth or shallow rocks early season and often times struggle to contact fish, thinking maybe I am missing something by completely neglecting open water. Thanks!
Thank you!! Fish will usually be shallow just after spawn for a couple weeks until water temps start warming up near mid 60’s. After they are done the majority of the fish move out to open water chasing bait! If you aren’t fishing open water you are definitely missing out!
@@devotedoutdoors Thank you for the response. I am definitely going to give the open water a try this year. Taking it one step further, is there a similar trigger that tells you to start looking shallow again? I would assume the ciscoes stay in open water most of the summer so is it water temp related again?
Muskies are in open water all year long chasing ciscos. They slide shallow into the green cabbage beginning of July but than slip back out! They are constantly moving in and out of shallow water and open water!! Moon phases for us anyway like full moon and new moon are typically when we see good push of fish shallow!!
You guys are awesome! Sweet video 👍
Thanks man!! Really appreciate that!
would love to see you actually bump the fish so we know the size.. :)
