I'm a beginning musky fisherman...watched 100 videos on it...The piece about the "window" and what he's observed during tournaments on the radio is fascinating and proves what I hear discussed all the time. Good stuff!

dear Al Ive been reading your articles and watching your shows for 35 years thanks to you I became a good walley fisherman but also would never think about hitting northern lakes or my favorite Lake Erie without praising my Lord and savior. Ive never had the pleasure of meeting you but someday I know we will.

Nice production. I enjoyed the musky information as well as seeing the nice fish.

knowing when to fish is what fishing is about. What you do not see in videos is how to catch any fish when they have lock jaw. I mean all species. One thing you will never see is a PRO tourny of any kind on a lake that is in a down cycle. It's the journey and patience that makes fishing so appealing.

I've heard about this open water bite, and it never really made sense to me why the muskies would be suspended so high above the bait fish (since it's the opposite generally when they're feeding). So the explanation about the zooplankton rising up at night bringing the cisco into the feeding depths Muskies are comfortable at (temperature wise) makes a lot of sense! Thanks for that.

I one caught a 70 inch 80 pound Muskie. The fight lasted half an hour. And then I woke up.

Unfortunately we won’t, Mr. Shishkabob. We’ll actually be doing pond fishing exhibitions in mid March in Dog River, Saskatchewan.

The commercials aren't true youtube commercials, you can fast forward through them. Its like watching any other outdoors show on TV, they all have sponsors... doesn't mean we are bowing down to corporate sponsors

Does this apply to pike as well? I believe they, at that time of the year, are more shallow and get to the deeper spots later in the summer. Or am I wrong?

Until you have a pelagic bait fish collapse. Comorants, etc. Then the pattern is gone or diminished.
