What Shane and Steven have in common is being weird little guys
So true! I hope they see this comment
I’m sure that’s a compliment to them 😅
Shane isn't exactly little though
@@JacobSW. littleliness is a state of mind, not being. you cant see a silly little guy, you can only sense them
I'm so invested in the lazy acre relationship it's the highlight of each EP for me 😂
Me too 😂
Petition to have a Lazy Acres Update w/ Shane section. 😂
same😭😭
omg shane talking about the batmobile that sara got him and immediately knowing he wanted to marry her omg im crying
The ZERO hesitation when Byron asked if he knew at that moment - god it just warms the heart. I always thought Shane was so adorable in that Buzzfeed video, he literally tears up when he opens the gift and finds the batmobile. Now, having a little more backstory and knowing what was going through his head and that it was Sara that orchestrated it... love is real, y'all.
The fact that we got to see that silly flirting video Sara made and that one are a treat for us. But for the two of them and their families to have?? Amazing. 😢
you releasing this every Monday and therefore giving us something to look forward to that day was such an act of charity and kindness. tbh
I was just thinking this it's so comforting to watch
It’s Tuesday for me but still the beginning of the week is always the most boring that’s why I look forward to this
Right? This makes my week tbh since it’s on a Monday
😂😅 5:15 😅😮😅😂😅😅😮😮😂😅 6:12 6:13 😅🎉@@apeiceofgarbage9848
PLEASE bring back Weird and/or Wonderful World!!!! One of the most fun and wholesome shows around!
It was literally so good
yes yes yes
Props to Byron for getting his sentences in when Ryan and Shane always have something to say about everything 😂😂 this my fav RUclips channel for real
shane is so real. "i like to go on computer" dont we all bestie. dont we all
This is my petition to get an episode with Ryan, Shane, Steven and Ricky Wang
I love Ricky 🥹
YESSSSS
Omg please do this Watcher!!!!
Yesss! Ricky when I catch you Ricky
lol shane "I saw the biggest hooters in clearwater."
"The restaurant, right?"
🤣🤣🤣
Glad to see Byron on the Pod! He always brings such a chill energy!
Friendly reminder: Powwow's are not chats, meetings, or brainstorming sessions, and shouldn't be used as synonyms for such. Most Powwows are huge, sometimes days long, events that celebrate Indigenous cultures and traditions from across Canada, the U.S., and Mexico. Comparing a chat between friends to a Powwow is like calling your kid's little league game the Olympics. 😆
this! hope they see this comment
I was going to comment this, too. Thanks for sharing this, and it’s a great explanation :)
My thoughts exactly!!
I really enjoy watching people talk about things that they love, so Ryan going on his passionate ode to amusement parks was just really wholesome.
Buzzfeed Unsolved has an "as featured in" segment in the gift shop of the Sarah Winchester Mystery House in San Jose
As a nonAmerican hearing them talk about hooters and LA malls for half the podcast was funny because I’m enjoying their conversation without knowing a thing about it
As an American I also don't know what theyre talking about
It's amazing how diverse countries can be. I'm from western Canada, Northern ab eventually to central South sk and I will see lists of Canadian things and I'm like... never once in my life have I seen or used bagged milk.
The Lazy Acres saga continues!
That entire Fifi-part was just gold, such sibling vibes. That's 100% something me and my sibs would do.
I agree with Byron. I think the reason why movies is seen as an art form is the fact that it has more eyes on it, is often more of a personal experience. How often do you go to a theme park by yourself vs sit down and watch a movie by yourself. When I go to a theme park I'm sure that the set design is nice and everything is beautiful and well done but for me I'm there with my friends and all of that is just going to blend into one experience called "I had a good day".
Hemming my new blouse with you. Love to craft while listening to your shenanigans.
Awesome! I’m stuck at work but they get me through my shift lol
@oooh19 ughh i wish my job would let me listen to podcasts on the clock, i just tuned in for my lunch break
but either way Watcher videos are something to look forward to. i love their friendships, banter, and chemistry @@bustedkeaton
Shane's ad reads are so unserious and I love that about them.
The Fifi the Featherduster story, and the associated shame, is amazing. THAT was the Christmas Tale I needed!
Now i have to search for that awkward moment between Steven and Shane 😂
There was a moment on the top 5 beatdown on the chips ep😂😂
last? no, two eps of this ago. Ryan gets up to get the takeout order. except its not awkward at all it's. really lovely and they have a cute little chat shane is just LYING for COMEDY
This is my relaxation podcast, if I accidentally zone out for 5 mins I don’t miss a thing, very comforting
Shane calling oyster disease VRBO and Venmo had me actually laughing out loud 😂
I like the Lazy Acres drama. It’s a good reason to keep coming back! Also, Shane, I’m also really bad at giving gifts. I feel guilty but I also try to make the people I care about feel loved throughout the year to make up for ut
hyped to see if there's an update on shane vs lazy acres beef
also on theme parks: they are so expensive to get into. disneyland isn't a universal, widely accessible thing like film, books, videogames, etc. i can appreciate theme parks and fancy rides as art, but ill probably never experience them so i don't have an opinion on them, you know?
For anyone who thinks they won't like for your amusement, i asure you you will. Its great to listen to they put small clips of the rides as they explain the ride its great
As an Illinois suburb girlie, Shane is 100% right about the Woodfield mall in Schaumburg! I wonder if he's been since all the renovations a couple years ago.
It's sooooo nice, I was just there last weekend!
I need Shane's thoughts on Gurnee Mills.
As a girlie from Indiana I loved the Holiday World shout out! It is honestly such a great place. Love you guys!
Came here to say this!! So cool. Its not every day that your fav RUclipsrs wanna go there 😭😭
Thank you Ryan for bringing up the ‘are theme park offerings art’ conversation, as a long time entertainment CM at DLR, you’re correct it takes so much time and hour of labor by so many people to bring everything to life! The shows and nightlife are extremely high caliber works of art, the details and hand painting and hand crafting on the buildings in the park, the attention to detail of the characters is taking art in one form and bringing it to a real interactive 3D experience. Theme parks (when done well) can be art! I listen to this podcast and FYA at work when they drop☺️
Came to comment the same thing! Even if rides/lands use already established IPs, they are taking the story/movie and putting it into real life.
IT'S A WATCHER POD DAY!! thanks yall i needed this today! Great to have Byron on this pod, podception HAHA😂
Lazy Acres should become a sponsor for this podcast otherwise Shane will continue to poke fun at them and who knows what else this weird man will do to get what he wants 😭🤣
I haven’t started the video yet but excited to see how gifts, shrimp and theme parks turned into an hour and a half discussion.
I love hearing about lazy acres 😆
Art is intentional expression, theme parks be art
Growing up in Louisville, KY, I always saw commercials for Holiday World. Louisville would love to have the Watcher team stop by again! (Also, I'm sure I've commented this already, but the underground zip line in the Louisville Mega Cavern would make for some fun footage.)
Heyyyyyy Louisville resident! I’ve lived in Louisville since my freshman year of college
I also think they could have a great weird time in and around Louisville
So happy to see this video pop up! You guys cheer me up so much!
I used to work at Holiday World, and I went so many times as a kid! It’s quite fun and the roller coasters are insane. Highly recommend if anyone ever gets the chance to go!
Shane mentioning Santa's Village 😂 My uncle was a security guard there when I was a kid, so i got to meet mascots and see behind the scenes. I forgot about that until he mentioned it, thank you haha
I was listening to this at work tonight and sort of zoning out a little, and hearing y'all talking about Holiday World snapped me back to reality. Not often I get to hear about my home area out of the blue like this. Grew up in Southern Illinois and Holiday World is sort of our only park in the area. All the other big/good ones are 4-6 hours away. Would LOVE to see y'all discuss Holiday World more in-depth or even visit!
With Ryan's love for theme parks, how about Ghost Files hits up some abandoned parks for a season.
When I tell you that I RAN to see this video as soon as it dropped
Same!
I miss Steven 😭😭 but they are picking great guest podders… they can keep up!
I miss him too but Ryan said here that Steven is busy filming something “special” for the fans to enjoy 🤔
Please go to Holiday World and Splashing safari!! That is my childhood vacation!! All the time! They open a new ride every year! And for the coasterhead-The Raven was the #1 wooden roller coaster for years!!
An excellent water park too 👌🏻
Looking for the Weird (and/or) Wonderful World petition 👀 This could be a show that has a one-off ep each year and I'd be so happy!
Shane's turkey dinner looks amazing! Ryan is too foodie! 🍗
Byron has that vibe like if Jon Snow had a less stressful life, just podcasting from the Wall.
In college I went to the opening of a new Hooters (as a straight woman who loved wings😂) with my frat friends and we all got free cards that were good for free wings for a year. I have never eaten so much chicken in one year since.
I was HOPING Shane would bring up Woodfield Mall 😩 Went there just a week ago with a group of friends and made a whole day out of it. Highly recommend to my fellow northern IL folks
Both my kids loved to read and one of their uncles always included a Barnes and Noble gift card with their presents! It was a great gift every time! 🎉❤
Ok, I’ll bite: 3 mile island (12:45) is not the location of nuclear or atomic testing. It’s the nuclear reactor meltdown from 1979 in Pennsylvania. But yes Shane, it’s the locus of bad, dangerous shenanigans 😊🎉
I think I agree with Ryan on theme park attractions are forms of art like the E.T ride and The Mummy ride because the set designs and getting to the ride are BEAUTIFUL
Byron is like the Mark Ruffalo of podcasts
He looks like him too 🤣
@Maxtyur he kinda looks like him, but i meant more his dry-yet-earnest delivery, and the timbre of his voice.
Ryan never having been to Hooters makes so much sense
Ok Shane secretly owns that Lazy Acres location 😂😂😂
this podcast gives me so much joy, I'm already going back and re-watching episodes! 💗 also, this is a great podcast to get high to‼️
Especially the one last week when they talked about how high they were for their flight lol
I've not seen For Your Amusement as I'm not a big amusement park fan (I'm one of those people who lives in a place where there just aren't any), so this is my first time seeing Byron and I think he was an excellent guest with a lot of insightful commentary.
LMFAO Shane would pick the people mover😂😂
My family has always done a secret Santa between my siblings and me (there’s 4 of us), and recently we extended it to a second secret Santa with my parents included and that’s been pretty nice for us
The theme parks not getting their recognition is very similar to comedy’s and horrors never winning high movie accolades.
Obligatory algorithm pleasing comment~
Diddy Kong Racing on N64 was my JAMMMMMM
im two months late but if you're looking for artistic, immersive themeparks that are committed to storytelling without an attached ip (as a themepark dork myself) the first that spring to mind are alton towers in the uk & the efteling in the netherlands (bonus points for efteling for having a non-ip related mascot: pardoes!!!) alton towers has some of the coolest storytelling across UK themeparks i just love all the lore they build behind their attractions and (even though efteling takes a lot of inspiration from the original grimm fairytales) their stylistic use of architecture and design is all the work of the many illustrators who worked on the park at a conceptual stage. being there is like stepping into a drawing, everything is so coherent and fluid.
I used to go to Holiday World every year growing up. Haven't been back in a while but it was always fun and you should go. Also, if you fly through Indianapolis I'd recommend the shrimp cocktail at St. Elmo's Steakhouse/Harry & Izzy's. Has a spicy heat that will clear your sinuses.
Love listening to this and for your amusement on spotify at work! But there's always so much visually I miss out on like Fifi the feather duster ornament so you've guaranteed me rewatching on youtube. Keep up the great work guys! Also I'm fully with Ryan, visual tangible art forms/experiences are grossly overlooked and underappreciated for just computer projection which I really hate seeing at theme parks honestly.
See you in the New Year guys 🎉
Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk isn't tied to existing IP characters. We also used to have a Santa's Village but it closed in the 70's. We also had a Frontier Village, now closed.
Love these podcasts, guys! Please keep doing them ☺️ BTW, my husband is a Hoosier and told me about Holiday World. He told me when he was a kid, there were dancing chickens.. They are no more.. If you knew how they made them dance then you would understand.
for a non-IP affiliated theme park: lagoon in utah!! there is a puff the magic dragon ride (???) but other than that, the rides aren’t tied to any set IP. part of why i love it so much, because it feels like it lends to such a pure and classic amusement park feel
as someone who lives 45 minutes from holiday world and use to go every summer as a kid i felt represented
The craziest part of this EP was learning Shane reheats his old coffee
HAPPY HOLIDAYS GUYS!! Hope you have a great one! 🫶🏼😭🫶🏼
Holiday World is a lot of fun but Splash ´N Safari is the best part of it tbh. I believe it also contends with Knotts Berry Farms for the title of World’s First Theme Park
If you guys were to go to holiday world I would suggest going in the summer because the water coasters are so fun but have a very long wait
Shane is right, Woodfield Mall is awesome, so was Hawthorne in Mundelein. Haven't been there in years now but grew up in the area. I remember our moms would go drink at the bar and we would just wander the mall for hours when we were little lol. That wouldn't happen these days.
I had no idea you were supposed to peel a shrimp until my dad told me, I was in my late teens and it blew my mind
Did you just think they were extra crunchy 😂😂😂
Good Lord you never went to Spain in those years
Idk if anyone knows this but a lot of people just eat everything including it’s shell
@@thatgirl9532 you can with some prawns but deffo not others 😅
Ryan sounding so privileged with how often he gets to go to theme parks 😅
watcher podcast has become a part of my Monday night routine❤😀
Looks like normal food, you're good Shane.
I love that you know about dinky ol Holiday World. Please come and have a silly little time of it. She's a sweet little park.
Most podcasts bore me but listening to these gets me through the graveyard shifts
Hell yeah Woodfield mall!!
I love the lazy acres updates
always a nice way to start the monday!!!
The perfect podcast for my Monday workday
There is a Santa’s village! It’s like an hour from Los Angeles in the mountains.
Byron nailed it. Plain burgers (as nature intended) dipped in Ketchup.
the thing shane and steven have in common is being pals with ryan
what the.. im listening to this RIGHT AFTER i saw Ryan at the Century City Din Tai Fung. how fitting…
so excited for this new episode!! love from tx
missing steven but byron was a nice surprise!!!!
Video game tangents A+++
I love oysters, but just read all about vibrio and may stop eating them. Thanks for the tip Shane! (I don't use VRBO or Venmo either haha)
in terms of theme parks - i’d argue that there are at least some rides that i know of that are definitely not marketed for children. main example that comes to mind is The Smiler at Alton Towers (UK) (also i’d love to see an episode of for your amusement about that coaster actually)
I haven’t been to a theme park in like 20 years, and I only ever went a few times as a kid. There aren’t really any nearby me, and my dad had a really short temper. Road-trips followed by making him stand in cramped, hot lines for hours was a bad combo. They’re just not really something I think about.
I work in a Turkish restaurant none of the cooks speak English. A girl ordered the grilled fish but wanted the head cut off. I translated the best I could on the ticket and it ended up saying “lost head”. They’ve been calling me Yok Kafa ever since.
I love a good shopping day at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL
I went to see a flying Lotus concert in 2015 literally only because he had 3-D projections that synced up with the music that played above the audience. I like his music too but I barely even listened to him before the concert, the visual artistry was the only reason I bought a ticket. Only concert I've ever done that for though
If you think Thanksgiving food is bad, you’ve never had well-made Thanksgiving food. People way overthink it, but shit doesn’t have to be dry and bland.
im glad y'all are gettin super into the ad read honestly the cheesier the better
As someone who lives in indiana, it’s so weird to hear you guys talk about it 😭🫂
