Quick tip on the buddy stealing of computers... My wife and I put custom boot screens on the Perdix AI's and so when it powers up you know exactly which one you have. Also she always centers her zippers and I always keep both of mine on one side on the case so even before you pull it out we know which is which.

Buying my first dive computer. Thinking of this one. Any regrets? Other watches would recommend over this one?

    Hi,
i would like to ask you something about to Dive Computers.
I saw many videos comparing shearwater teric vs Suunto D5 or D6i... and they are totally different.
I would like to iniciate into Trimix and I´m looking to buy the Suunto DX. or Shearwater teric. but nobody compare these D.computers.
Can you make a video of them?
Can you give me some advices. I like the Suunto but I hear things...
Can you tell me why I should buy shearwater teric instead of the Suunto DX?
Can you tell me and compare both?
Will be a good help to me and to a lot of people that want to iniciate in technical diving.

Hi, do you prefer diving with the Perdix Ai or the Teric? Which one of those easier to read and navigate options underwater ,the bigger screen less brightness on the Perdix or the more bright but smaller screen on the Teric?
Appreciate your feedback and im thinking of getting either Teric or Perdix

I didn't want to answer this until i'd been diving the Teric for a few months and getting more time on it. I've dived it now in the Arctic, in the Great Lakes on deep wrecks and on several recreational dives in the Bahamas and Florida. I love my Perdix AI as well. It's hard to choose so i think it comes down to the options. If you want rechargable battery, small profile, bright screen, freedive mode, small for travel or a watch get the Teric. If you just want something for tech diving only where you can read more info on one screen get the perdix. I will be using my Teric more for recreational diving and travel and a backup computer for tech diving and i'll keep my Perdix AI as my primary tech diving computer. Hope that helps!

Becky Kagan Schott thanks, it really helps.i have a better idea now on what factors to consider when deciding on which computer Togo for, i will be mostly diving recreational and less tech dives. It hard to keep up with dive computer technology especially when there are new computers coming out every couple of months.

Snake_Hawk I totally understand that. You can't go wrong either way here. I love all of shearwaters computers and they are all set up for OC rec, OC tech, CCR, Trimix. The only one to have freedive mode is the Teric though. There is a bit of a wait on them right now. I'm a dealer and they are backordered for several months. They are popular!

Hi 'neighbor' from Kennett! How do you like the Teric so far? Get some time on it yet?

    • @BeckyKaganSchott
      @BeckyKaganSchott  6 лет назад +1

Hi Chris, I put about a dozen dives on it so far alongside my perdix Ai. I used it in 38f water and no issues pushing buttons with thick dry gloves,.I love the bright screen and it's really easy to scroll through other screens. I also hooked it up to 2 transmitters and it worked great! One thing i will do is change the strap. I want a more elastic strap on it vs a watch strap.

@@BeckyKaganSchott Did my Advanced Open Water class this weekend at Dutch Springs and finally got a chance to get the Teric wet! Definitely agree on the strap, fine for tropics but can get floppy at depth. Had to put it on pretty tight for it to stay snug over the 7mm wet suit at ~70-80 ft. :) Display is very clear and the compass is so smooth and nice to have available WHILE you have all your other data up on the screen...

Really nice dive computer - but expensive - over 1000 USD. I wish it cost max 450 USD.

I hear you but you do get what you pay for and you get a lot when it comes to any shearwater computer. I'm also a huge fan of their Petrel 2 and Perdix AI, the other one i show in this video.

50 hours normal watch time is pretty sad thou.. Should last at least a week.. Perhaps teric 2 will have improved battery.
