    Another awesome video. Best review I’ve seen and most complete. Makes me want to get a teric right now and I’m not even certified yet. Love the fact it has the features that you want or could possibly want in a computer in the future as you gain more experience and are doing different types of dives. Also love the fact that is completely customizable. Love the colors esp the blue and the iron man. Like you said the flashlight is a nice feature to have. I could see myself using that feature and would always have one when I needed it. Loved how you talked about the ease of use, as a soon to be diver that is one thing I was worried about. Is it going to be to complicated for a new diver to use. The video answered all the questions I had and a lot of ones I did not know I had. I rate this video an 11 out of 10.

    A couple of things Freddy got wrong about the Teric:
    1. You cannot monitor your buddy's tank pressure. The range of the transmitter is very limited underwater. It will barely reach your wrist from your first stage. A buddy will be well out of range. The second transmitter (and now the 3rd and 4th) can be used for staging tanks and sidemount.
    2. Your tank pressure will NOT factor in the nitrogen saturation calculations. And that's for a very simple reason: The computer doesn't know what size tank you're diving with. The amount of gas you've consumed will be very different depending on if you're diving an Al80 or twin steel. It also doesn't know if you're using the gas on your own, or your buddy is on the alternate.
    The A.I. is useful because the Teric can monitor the remaining pressure, and alert you when you're running low on gas.

    • @coralkeyscuba
      @coralkeyscuba 11 месяцев назад +3

      You are correct. Technically the Teric will monitor the other transmitters if close enough. And it does come from a technical standpoint. but it is used by many couples, buddies still as they draw near one another for the purpose of checking each other. We use them in a pool as well for students that are training.
      I will have to watch the video again because I don't remember saying the tank pressure affected your nitrogen. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. What I thought I was conveying was that consumption increased your nitrogen load. The more you breathe at depth the more nitrogen load you have, Irrelevant of tank pressure. Thanks for keeping it real. Even an old guy like me knows tank pressure doesn't affect it. Freddy

    Anyone knows if you can set the "total cylinder volume" when using the teric with one transmitter and double tank? I use double 15 liter tank with interconnection (30 lit total tank volume).

    Does it act like a regular smart watch for the days you’re not diving? Like shows you text messages

  • @jonpodpallock7350
    @jonpodpallock7350 2 года назад

    does it do a "no-fly time" timer? Example 12hrs after your dive, 24hrs after your dive, 48hrs after your dive etc no going on a plane timer? of course you could keep track on your own but based on your dive depths it would be nice to know.

      @@coralkeyscuba where do you find this option in the watch? I was told by a dive shop today that they actually took this feature out of the logic so as not to conflict with DAM standards. If they have it as you claim though that’s great news! :) where can I find this in the watch itself though? Thanks agajn

      Currently the Price is $1150. Will need a transmitter and they retail for about $395. There is a discount code for LeviathanScuba.com Promo Code: BADASS at check out. You cannot change the battery. It is rechargeable and not accessible by the user. I am told by the owner of Shearwater that the battery should last about 8 years (He called me after seeing our review with answers that I didn't have in the Video) Currently costs about $80 US dollars to change. Thanks RD for watching. More to come real soon. Freddy

    I have to use reading glasses, will I need a prescription mask?

    • @coralkeyscuba
      @coralkeyscuba 11 месяцев назад +1

      No Spaceman. You can either have lenses made with them in it. Common and easy and affordable choice. Or you can buy over the counter reader inserts. Some glue in and some are cling mounted. They are very inexpensive. Trident is a place to start checking. Thanks for watching. If you have a prescription then when you order lenses, one option is always reader lenses built in. Thanks for watching. More to come soon. Freddy

    Hahahaha. You can set it to BARS for our British friend. That makes me laugh. Sorry to tell you that only in USA, PSI is used in Scuba Diving. Most parts of the world use BARS.
    Inches away from the metric system.

    • @coralkeyscuba
      @coralkeyscuba 2 года назад

      You are so right! And us Americans are clueless when it comes to the imperial to metric conversions. Many use the DIN tank valves in Europe as well. I guess I equate it to Britain is because I trained there a bit and dove there. Thanks Stein K for watching. More to come soon. Freddy😉

      Hey there Capt. Naqi, hope you are well. We are in the process of evaluating the Garmin MK2i right now. Just got back from its first trip to St. Eustatius. Performed well. We are filming the review as we go and will let you know what we think. So far, there is good but there is bad as well. We will tell the no BS truth you can be sure. Thanks man for participating in the journey. Enjoy your dives. Freddy

      The Garmin is in second place behind the Teric. The screen is dreadful in low light conditions, you can’t change the depth of you last decompression stop and the Teric is rated to 200m. As an Advanced Trimix driver I’m qualified to 100m, that’s the same as the Garmin. I do not want my computer to flood at that depth.

      @@MarkN67 Hey there Mark. I am going to put the Perdix second to the Teric. The Garmin has a serious deal breaker for me. You will see the video soon. Filming it this Friday. Sonar is the method of communication with the transmitter. I have been in touch with Garmin and I have to tell you that I wouldn't want to dive it personally. The sound is very loud. It is audible and divers around you can hear it. More importantly the fish can hear it and it scares them. Bad for a photographer. Garmin told me how to lower the power setting on the transmitter. I tried it at 50% power, then 20% power, then 10% power. At 10% the sound was much lighter but the fish could still hear it and it was still annoying. Can't get rid of it. At the lower levels the distance to transmitters is much lower as well. Hope it helps. Love Garmin products but not a fan of this dive computer. Freddy

    Why would anyone wear a dive computer under their wetsuit 00:50 🤔

    • @LeviathanScuba
      @LeviathanScuba  2 года назад

      The wetsuits that have an inner cuff with a zippered outer layer is very common to have the computer over the cuff but under the outer layer. Not sure why, other than it may help protect the dive computer a bit from banging. Also, some don't check their computer every 2 minutes because of their comfort level. I have witnessed dive masters that are in the water 6 days a week wear their computer under their sleeves. A simple lift or slide of the sleeve and they peek at it to continue on. Also, might be because some use a thick suit and the band won't fit around the wrist plus thick suit. Thanks Jonnie for watching. More to come soon. Freddy

      Love the funny faces. The Teric is $1150. The Garmin is $2000. A hoseless transmitter ranges from $299 to $399. But the teric works with most transmitters on the market. Thanks for watching. More coming soon.
