The Shearwater Teric Dive Computer is a full-color screen watch-sized dive computer with all the features and quality you expect from a shearwater computer but in a smaller package. Intuitive controls and navigation of the menus are what you expect from a shearwater and with the bright vivid display that you can customize you can really make this computer yours. The name Teric is a shortened version of Petric which means of, relating to, or resembling a wing continuing the tradition of naming their computers with a P but changing things slightly because it's a watch-sized computer.
    Custom
You can choose the color scheme and layout of the screen both as a normal wrist watch for the surface and under the water.
    Air Integrated
The Teric can connect to one or two wireless air transmitters so you can see your gas supply remaining and breathing rate.
    Rechargeable
Included with the watch is a wireless inductive charger so you can keep it topped up but it will last a good 50+ hours in watch mode or 30+ hours in dive mode from a full charge.
    Freediving
Along with the usual open circuit and closed circuit diving modes you expect from a Shearwater the Teric also has an apnea mode built in so you can take it freediving and it will record all of your dives.

OC REC 3 gas nitrox recreational computer

Could you do a comparison of all watch-style dive computers? I have the Scubapro M2 at the moment and would love to see that comparison. I'm convinced the Teric will be my next computer and after a ton of research (and getting lucky enough to dive with a Teric) it took me a while to gain enough information to justify the upgrade. I'm a fan of the watch style computers because they take up less space on the arm (to fit a redundant computer on the wrist) and they look better with jeans and a t-shirt.

Looks nice, and I had my hopes up until I saw the battery life. I would want this as my daily watch as well, however my smart watch and old fitness tracker lasts longer than that. If they have a firmware update to where the bluetooth can be turned on and off for syncing maybe the battery life will go up

That is probably the nicest looking watch-style computer I’ve seen. I really like the Shearwater products but never wanted a giant, bulky screen strapped to my wrist. I might just have to save a few quid and buy it :)

    Hi,
i would like to ask you something about to Dive Computers.
I saw many videos comparing shearwater teric vs Suunto D5 or D6i... and they are totally different.
I would like to iniciate into Trimix and I´m looking to buy the Suunto DX. or Shearwater teric. but nobody compare these D.computers.
Can you make a video of them?
Can you give me some advices. I like the Suunto but I hear things...
Can you tell me why I should buy shearwater teric instead of the Suunto DX?
Can you tell me and compare both?
Will be a good help to me and to a lot of people that want to iniciate in technical diving.

How long it will last between charging if we use as daily watch? By having simple watch face only

  • @chrism1190

    One more ?
Is the real life time between charges close to what’s advertised for it? (50 hrs watch and 30 diving)

They could make the battery user replaceable or last longer than 500 cycles.
I am trying to decide now between the Perdix and the Teric.

Teric is a great piece but it doesn't have the connectivity which MK1 offers... its true that Garmin diving algorithm are Buhlman based which is not safe at all for TECH diving its not conservative its made for soldiers which is so bad for such a beautiful product to the public. Plus the screen underwater is so dem not bright as the Teric. But am still believe on the Garmin potential.

I've owned both and wear a Garmin Fenix 6x for my daily wearer but I have to say the Teric beats the Descent MK1 hands down. The Teric is easy to read at any depth (I'm Advanced Trimix (100m) qualified). The MK1 is also limited to 100m and the Teric is 200m, the deepest I took the MK1 was 70m and running both side by side during deco, the Teric gave me another 5 mins at 6m on O2 but the rest of the deco was pretty even all the way up starting with a deep stop at 45m. The Teric also beats the MK1 on gas integration, and allows for transmitters to be used. They will also transmit to two different computers at the same time. I was running a Perdix Ai and Teric quite a lot and the gas information shows on both units at the same time. I find the Shearwater cloud software a bit chunky and prefer the Garmin Connect App, actually, I still prefer a paper log book as it allows me to write a lot more and add little drawings and maps etc. The Garmin also shows the correct time all the time where with the Teric you have to sync it to your phone for the time to sync. Both are very good but I prefer the Teric for the screen, integration and greater depth rating and it being solely for diving. But saying that, if you're a recreational diver and not that worried about either depth rating or gas integration, the Garmin is still a very good unit.
