Great vlog Jeff, brings back memories of a terrific weekend. Didn’t realise you’d been to Glengoyne. Hope the Cambus sample went down ok. Happy to put you up at mine next time, can definitely promise a better nights rest than the Arttor!
Thanks buddy! Yeah, it was something that I debated and with my flight landing slightly early I went for it and booked my tour on the bus. I had the Cambus sample last night, thank you so much. It was a very different beast with that sherry hit. Cheers for the kind offer mate, think anything may be better than the Artto
Phenomenal recap of an amazing weekend buddy and was great to finally meet you and captain our ship. Looking forward to next year already. Slainte mate and love the saying “brace and pace” keep the videos coming they’re class
Certainly feel like you deserved the captain's armband buddy. Brace & Pace, sometimes in my rambles I come out with some half clever sounding stuff Cheers Kev
haha they certainly are unique gentlemen but legends all of them! Was very lucky they let me tag along with them throughout the weekend. Cheers Richard
I wasn't there but you surely make me feel the energy. I enjoy watching you, don't call yourself daft. You bring a great funny personality into the whisky game with no less passion, so whiskytube wouldn't be the same without you. Cheers
Really glad that the excitment from the weekend came through, I did fear it would come across as a bit of a wild ramble Thank you for the kind words, honoured to be a part of the amazing whisky community. All the best and cheers!
Nice to meet you Jeff & glad you enjoyed our Annual Pre-Festival Barflies Gathering in the Pot Still on the Friday evening- I'll be organising it again next year so hopefully you'll make it in 2024
Great video Jeff, such an amazing weekend, great to meet you as well. Similar to you, having spoken to barflies on the bus and then checking the programme, i then realised I had missed soo much. For the next one, I am definitely gonna pace myself better, maybe plan as well, the drams I want to try. Wish I could have stayed longer after the tasting on the Sunday to chat to more barflies. Also delighted to see I made it on to Jeff Whisky video at 00:16:59 , another thing ticked off the bucket list 🙂
Cheers Alasdair! Next time we will have a meeting in the corridor and come up with a plan haha glad I managed to catch a glimpse of you, I really wish I filmed more but truly was swept up in the moment. Cheers.
That cork roll should not have amused me as much as it did. But it did. Glengoyne, great choice. Glasgow, great choice. Maki & Ramen, great choice. Bere Barley, great... you get me. Was lovely to chat with you on the day! Hopefully I'll be a little more in the right frame of mind for next year :)
I am glad that someone else enjoyed my highly dramatic head movement here. I completely forgot that happened by the time I was editing the video. Cheers
What a weekend! Great to spend time with you buddy. You can hear me shout to Graeme as he slaps the Bruichladdich bottle, ‘he loves it!’ How embarrassing 😅 cheers pal
It was great hanging out with you mate, like friends who have always known each other. HE LOVES IT! their is a reason why I kept the audio on that clip, Cheers!
I’m excited that it might not be your last time. Thanks for the terrific recap buddy and let’s start next year’s plan in the knowledge it’ll be just as messy as pass just as quickly 🙌
For me the "awesome dude" with the bells palsy, it was amazing to be able to chat to you at the festival and at the bar afterwards. Being able to get to chat face to face with you and other youtubers like Ralfy, Roy, Kevin, Gav, Ben, Vin, Jen, and Rachel is basically my equivalent of the Avengers.
Alcoholics... Assemble. It would have been great to get a full circle shot of all the Whisky Tubers. How are you doing now Chris? I found the face exercises document that I used as a reference, so drop me a message on a social media platform and can share it with you in case is any help. I felt it helped me with my recovery. Cheers!
@JeffWhisky I'm doing well, just counting down until my next whisky festival in December. I'm glad that you enjoyed your time up here in Scotland, and I appreciate you finding those exercises. I will drop you a message on twitter or x whatever it's called these days
@@JeffWhisky Not at all too excited but conveying atmosphere. Never been to a whisky festival. There are more like fairs here. But should perhaps have a look in my area. Cheers Jeff, rock on!
A pleasure to meet you Jeff, but God the photo of me with you and Ralfy was horrid: had that deer in the headlights look. Sandwiched between two superstars: a white dwarf and red giant (I won't suggest which was which.) A fantastic first time and GWF that I'm compelled to repeat down the road. Cheers mate!
The pleasure was all mine. Was always a highlight bumping into you at nearly every event. I was still in shock that someone knew me, see you again in the future down the line, Cheers
@@JeffWhisky Sorry for the late answer, Jeff. But - YES! I would have been there this year, if not for the fact that I had a concert ticket in Glasgow for November 28 (Extreme, More Than Words - everybody know them...) and just spent a week in Glasgow from November 26 to December 1. It wasn't realistic to either stay in Glasgow for 2 weeks or to go twice withing such a short timespan. But yes - I WILL be there at some point. TBH, I just spent my first 5 days (ever) in Glasgow last week - and I'm already thinking about how and when I can get back to Scotland 😂 Cheers buddy... hope to meet you at some point.
Nice Jeff, sounds like you had a blast! I don't know about the Glasgow festival for 2024 but I have my tickets for the London Whisky Show 2024. Would be great to meet up there if you're heading that way. Cheers my friend!
It truly was, I am still on a bit of a high! Would love to go to the London Whisky Show but it is a bit too pricey for me sadly. Somehow it was cheaper for me to fly to Glasgow and spend 4 days then it would be for a one night trip to LWS. Hopefully paths cross soon buddy! Cheers and have a blast!
Great chatting with you in the Bon mate, was only up for the day but managed to meet you, Ralfy and Vin, sadly couldn’t get near Roy, that man is popular! Definitely making a full weekend of it next year 👍
Was a pleasure chatting with you buddy, have you tried any of those whiskies yet? Roy is certainly the man of the whisky world, fingers crossed for next year mate!
was class bumping into you man, glad you had a good time! - I ran out of time in session 2 and did not try so many things I had planned to try, but the group in bon were lovely - not quite sure why that woman was going around telling everyone it was private, as I have never experienced that in there before, especially on a Saturday night - but it is the best pub in Glasgow for a dram so I am pleased you got to sample that! Me and my brother were absolutely sauced by the time we bumped into you and Vin, and you both made him feel so welcome - he is very new to whisky - so thanks for that! 🥃
And you Graham! What was your highlight in session 2? I am not sure if there would ever be enough time to enjoy it all at the festival. It was an odd one and know she got very funny with some folk in the Bon but still wouldn't be able to dampen the experience! All the best to you and your brother and see you at the next one! Cheers.
@@JeffWhisky There were so many good stands, North Star and Raasay side by side was one I spent a while at, the dram of the day for me was the Ardnamurchan, I liked the berry bros single cask one, and that was also my first time trying the Thompson bros blend that won the oswa, still regret not just buying one with the voucher tbh
It was my first GWF also (1st festival ever really) and I too wish I had stopped a moment to peruse the brochure before bouncing from table to table and room to room. I took a breather / water break at one of the tables and chatted with 2 seasoned festival pros. They educated me on using the brochure to map out the plan of attack. It seems somewhat mean to say this but I did try the 20 yo Port Charlotte from Whisky Sponge and it was my favorite dram of the day. We didn't get to chat much over the day but I look forward to chatting more at the next one! Cheers!
A water break is the right idea. They kindly gave me an extra bottle when asked, just to ensure I was fully hydrated for these drams. Ah you are meant to say that Port Charlotte was trash and that I didn't miss much Be great chatting more in the future Tony, cheers
Offer stands for next year, under an hour by bus from here to Glasgow. Yes Cambus highly regarded by blenders, and its right next to the Blackgrange complex where Diageo mature millions of their casks. Was closed about 20 years ago . Would like to see James Eadie bring a refill version too.
Sounds like a blast! Well.. apart from the hotel! Loved how you talked from start to finish through the weekend step by step, you should do the ads next year for the festival 😂 I’m definitely sold, cheers! 🔥
haha, if they ever get desperate enough for me to do adverts for them, I am ready. Hoping Artto Hotel will hire me after this video... I am not holding my breath! Cheers mate.
It really was amazing, a great whisky experience. The Benromach was "Benromach Peat Smoke Sherry Cask Matured 2014", truly lovely stuff. Have you tried it? Cheers Bishan!

A tough questions in truth Russ. It truly was a magical time but I am not sure will have the funds or holiday time for a trip this year. Never say never though... are you going? Cheers for watching!
@JeffWhisky it was great. Ive been the last 2 years and managed to focus on the stalls I was most interested in this time rather than trying to try as much as possible in the 4 hours! Everyone was lovely and happy to answer my daft questions

Arghhh - one of these days. I do get an annual trip home but have to use it to go and see friends and family further up the A82. Like you I also have small kids and an amazing wife, so don't want to push that any further than I already have. Glad you had a great time, maybe I can manage in 2024. I'm sure my family could do with a year off from me... 🙂
So have you booked your hotel for Glasgow Whisky Festival 2024?
I can confirm, there is still rooms available at the Artto...

It was great to hang out with you Ralfy, all the best and look forward to watching the next 1000 reviews
