Never done a whisky festival, but learnt a lot of this the hard way at beer festivals. Will definitely have to make it to a big boy festival one day though.
Nice Tips Ben. I've been to a few now and I think the one tip above all else I would say is.................. Drink Water whilst at a festival........ Drink lots of water........... More Water than you think you need....... Just drink loads of water........... Oh and of course drink lots of water between drams.
Great tips! Really wish I would have had known these while attending my first whisky festival this year😅 In terms of what exactly to sample (e.g. for by-the-dram festivals), do you have any strategies?
Great video Ben. I love a Whisky Festival! Got a bit too carried away at Kendal and regretted it! But I have learnt some very valuable lessons! 🤣 I actually prefer the earlier sessions. As you can then head off for something to eat and some more drinks with your friends!
Great tips Ben. No matter what my best intentions, I'd probably fall foul of the 'too much fun' thingy! I never learn😂 That said, I've never been to a whisky festival, though a few years ago I did take part in a thoroughly enjoyable event as part of Belfast Whiskey Week. Cheers mate.
Only been to a small festival so far but great tips to take with me for going big next year! With Masterclasses it is great to know what it is before hand. I had no clue what I signed up for but luckily it was brilliant! Highlight of the festival for me. Cheers!
As you pointed out you have the opportunity to taste some whiskys you would not normally have a chance to taste them. On that note I have a question for you. Did you come across a Single Grain rye whisky from the Arbikie distillery. Its only 5 miles from where I live and would like to visit the distillery. The problem for me the cheapest expression is £85,then the next one is £125 and the third one is £250. Why is grain whisky so expensive. Its a new distillery. I have noticed that grain whisky can be more expensive than malt when check it out on Master of Malt. Is it possible you could do a review of Arbikie whisky or is it too expensive as you do say you keep your reviews to the £40/£50 maybe £60 Mark. I guess I could take the samples they give you at the end of a tour. Keep on making top videos
