- Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Edinburgh Waverley located on the East Coast Main Line and various further lines up North where services are seen by Scotrail, London North Eastern Railway, Virgin Trains, CrossCountry and Transpennine Express.
Edinburgh was again a fantastic station to visit! However, this station can prove a very big challenge when you get around as trains leave from various areas and can prove difficult if you want a bit of everything. There was a great amount of variety here though, an amazing amount at that, with a great balance of electric and diesel traction. Compared to 3 years ago, my knowledge has improved and I certainly found this session much more successful. Highly recommended station!

Nice film KTV I enjoyed watching it. Regarding the VT services you get 1 VT train going via Birmingham an hour and one will go to Glasgow and the following hour one will go to Edinburgh and it’s a continuous pattern. 1 VT service will go to Edinburgh every 2 hours but 3 will go to Glasgow every 2 hours as that includes the express pendos which go on the Trent Valley line and the one that goes via Birmingham. Sorry if it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.
I may not have finished watching this, actually I only just started, but EW
Amazing video Keiran. Fantastic Station and variety of traction as you mentioned them all at the end of the video. Literally has nearly everything. Really enjoyable. Great stuff 🚆🚅🚄☺
To make station layouts a bit less challenging for yourself, may I suggest searching them up on the National Rail website under ‘Stations and on Trains’? All you need to do is type in the station name, hit Enter, and click on Station Map. That gives you the full layout of the station, so you can learn where the platforms, amenities etc are and how to get to them
Awesome Footage Buddy :)
