Stunning mixed evening variety being spotted at Haymarket. Very busy for an evening rush hour. Great spots with the InterCity 7 HST's in action. Noticed that some are 5 carriage sets and most are 4.
Thanks Ricky 👍🏻 Haymarket has always been a favourite of mine for traffic since it must be one of the most congested four platform stations on the network. Regarding the HSTs, I think they’re still in the process of lengthening them and I believe the delay was actually due to stabling space (Haymarket Depot is full of them!)
@@StarlifeStudios excellent!! I’ll be well anticipating them. I was going through some of your old videos! It’s amazing how far you’ve came. Well done 💯🌟 😃
Yep! I was really looking forward to going to this one and it turned out to be awesome 😃 Thanks Ben! Lots more big stations to come as well, I have a feeling you’ll like next weeks too 😉
I went on a short holiday to Scotland on car and after I visited someone's house in Edinburgh we stopped at Haymarket station and got a good deal for 13 quid to Glasgow Central where our Hotel is located. There was a big strike on the line but luckily I got a cross country. Sos for the long comment
Haymarket railway station is the second largest railway station in Edinburgh, Scotland, after Waverley railway station.[3] The station serves as a major commuter and long-distance destination, located near the city centre, in the West End. Trains from the station serve much of Scotland, including Fife and Glasgow, as well as suburban lines to the east, and the East Coast Main Line through to London King's Cross. It is the seventh busiest railway station in Scotland.
Great Video, nice amount of trains and Haymarket is a good location, there was a even better lineside location at Princes Street Gardens but sadly it now fenced it off.
@@StarlifeStudios The height of the wall next to the railway lines wasn't long, about 3 feet something like that but it would be easy to climb over and trespass
So the rationale behind it is that this service to Cardenden is a peak time only service (you may remember this as a 68 and Mk2s in previous years) Now that they’re gone, HSTs operate the service instead.
@@transitcaptain oh yeah I think the first comment where that guy said "first" sparked a bit of a comment fury- could not rly tell if it was serious or not
I’ve had a few comments recently suggesting that my viewers actually like trains in the rain (I don’t haha!) so I thought some evening showers were appropriate for Scotland 😂
That’s right Andrew, some trains were even de-Abellio’d in this video! I have been in close discussions with Transport Scotland and they are happy to continue the use of logos on the channel during and post transition 😃
0.50 - the destination board reads 'Glenrothes' but there's no station in Glenrothes. Why does it not have the proper destination? i.e. Thornton. Thornton has a proper railway history whereas Glenrothes is famous for concrete hippos and a fibreglass dinosaur.
What was your favourite train from this video? Thanks for Watching! 😃
I should say the Alstom Pendolinos cause it tilts
Scot rail class 397
And lner Azuma
Class 385
And cross country
ScotRail 158
Yooo we found Leighton Stepford Road in real life! But SCR jokes aside, this was a good video like always

Nice video keep up the great work. Favorite train is the Class 397s.
Thanks Jamie, I’m a big fan of the 397s although I personally think a yellow front would help 😉
Great video. Such a busy location and constant stream of trains. Very enjoyable

Super video
The Class 385 and 800/801 are both Hitachi but a different sound effects

12:52 where is Cardenden?
Tiny town on the Fife circle line
@@transitcaptain OK, how come they sent a whole HST there instead of a 158 or something

All daytime services stop although some CrossCountry, all Caledonian Sleepers, ECS movements and the occasional freight service are timed to pass.
