Hello Brandon. Thanks for the video. I have a question for you. Vendors in my country don't provide info about how much weight the bench can tolerate, they just recommend the use based on the user body weight. How to pick one bench only with that little info? Thank you a lot. I love how your videos always deliver valuable information.
Great review good sir ! you guys in USA are starting to have a pretty sweet selection to choose from. here in Canada, it's fairly limited !! when companies start shipping here, it usually causes the price to skyrocket, even if I am just a few hours away from states like New York !!
Thanks for the great review. It makes me very happy I got this. I like some color so I got the blue. I can't wait to use it. I just wish I knew about your affiliated link when I got it. I have been wondering, do you sell a Bar Don't Lie banner? I would love to have something like that in my gym
I picked up the REP Fitness AB-3100 a few months ago. Not on a baller budget, so I didn't get the AB-5200. I just went to the garage and replicated your highly scientific shake test experiment on it and it seems to be more stable than the 5200, lol. Anyways, I love this bench. I kept my crappy flat bench to see if I thought that it might perform better than the adjustable bench in the flat position, but I haven't used it at all since I got the REP bench. For reference, I used to own a NY Barbells FID bench, and the gap between the pads became a deal breaker to the point that I downgraded to the flat bench. This bench has 5 incline settings which are: 18, 36, 54, 72, and 90 degrees. I wish that it had the same 6 incline positions as the 5200. The 90* position I find to be too steep to really be of any value and never use it (the 85* would make more sense). And if my programming calls for a 45* incline I have to choose between the 36* or 54* setting.
I am a fan of how the new lighting makes it look as if you have photoshopped yourself into the room. It looks like a really good job but still mildly photoshop. Great video!
Great review. I’ll stick with my Iron Master Pro. Best bench I’ve ever owned. I liked it so much I bought one for my son’s home gym, selfishly I admit so I had a solid bench to use when I visit, lol.
When did you get the GetRx Bench? I was looking at their Flat bench selection but the shipping was very steep compared to REP though they are the only onse with a wide pad that's not sold out.
@@BasementBrandon theyre in a strongman gym so they don’t get used by as many people as a commercial gym but the people are heavier and sweatier. 😅 The Rep ones are doing really well but you can definitely see the shoulder areas have been smoothed out over time. The Rogue adjustable is actually starting to crack and the Thompson fat pad is in tact but have also been smoothed out.
This video is coming at a great time for me. Thought I’d mention that REP’s bench is currently out of stock - but Griffin Fitness has almost the same adjustable bench (they have to have the same OEM from somewhere in Asia) for $355.50 not including shipping (shipping to my location costs an extra $75, so $430.50 in total, vs. an estimated >$500 for REP’s). Main differences are the arm under the bench’s “back” is not beefy looking at all vs. REP’s (it’s straight-up flimsy looking tbh), and there’s no slim piece of metal at the “head” to help keep the bench more stable when stored upright. Even still, I might opt for theirs + their stainless steel “Deep Knurl” power bar clone, although REP’s flat benches are tempting too simply because I don’t really do a lot of adjustable bench stuff yet. I know you had a good review of Griffin’s version of the flat bench, and I’d get that for sure… if it was in stock. T___T

Have this bench and really do like it a lot. Might be odd but for flat benching I actually kick the bottom pad all the way up when I flat bench. Feel locked in and don't shift when either barbell or dumbbell flat benching.
Did you ever purchase the Rogue adjustable 3.0…wondering your thoughts on the pad width (if 11” just isn’t wide enough) and the texture of the pad ( compared to that good feel of the rep pad feel)
I have the sorinex recon bench with wide pad. Its not as sturdy as the rogue when doing the hand wiggle test like you in this video but its not half as bad as the rep. Its more sturdy when actually using it compared to hand wiggle test. Its expensive but rep (which i didnt want because Merica!) was the only other adjustable “wide pad” on the market. Got one in red bout a year back. Solid adjustable. Not really a fan for flat bench with barbell though the "grippy" material not really that grippy at all and there's some slack in the upholstery. Night and day grip from the Thompson pad to the rep pad. Mine also shakes a good amount maybe not as much as yours. Only way to get it real right it's too tight to adjust. Kinda found a nice middle ground. Overall solid bench for dumbbell and incline work though.
