- OS x could not be installed on your computer el capitan 100% solution.
Step 1: Check whether you have the same issue. Open the terminal.
Step 2: Check the date and time using the date command.
Step 3: Update the date and time of your machine using the date command.
Command entered in the video:
date 021214152015
Step 4: Quit terminal.
Step 5: Retry the installation.

Thanks Man!!!! It works!!!! Just upgrade my 2011 imac27" to SSD and formatted my drive to install original LION, then update to EL CAPITAN where my computer stuck...but found your instructions terminal to change date 2015 w/ turnoff router and BINGO!!!!!!

Thanks so much. I went to the Apple store and the guy told me it was the hard drive, even though I had swapped in a 2nd hard drive and it failed on that too!
Turns out the issue is, the installer for El Capitan has an expiration date, So setting the date to 2015 (as in the info above and in the video) solves the problem.
It works and the reason it works you’re changing the date back to 2015 and it doesn’t like that the year 2020 make sure to turn off your Wi-Fi before doing this

Hi, yes I had read that before reformatting the computer. I have followed all the steps indicated in part1 of this document... I was able follow the instructions on screen, which prompted me to confirm (agree) the license, enter my apple ID etc but then every time it tries to access the App Store the process gets stuck...
mostly I keep getting booted out of the App Store and am asked to enter my ID & password.
This last time I got a message saying that "the product wasn't currently available and to try again later"...
Any suggestions?

@@shivamaddy577 sure. What part are you getting stuck at? I kept getting stuck at the grey screen with big X that says OS X under it because I couldn’t get the utilities tab to show up in the status bar at first. If this is your issue, then you need to press Back to go back to the previous screen even if there wasn’t “actual” previous screen to begin with. You may have to input your country or something else at that point, but you should see the utilities tab at the top and be able to access terminal to complete the process. Lmk if this helps.

How the installation go if you switched off the wi-fi ? I try it but doesn’t work on iMac 2007. After changing date show message that the computer is of internet and if I turned on internet “an errore occurred while preparing the installation “

I do have a question. I’ve done this and it begins to install but my computer goes to sleep. I think that’s the right term, it goes black after 10 minutes or so. When I press a key it comes back on and is usually at 30-32 minutes left of install and then never moves. I can use the mouse and everything else but it doesn’t finish the install
