It’s always interesting to hear on outside view on American politics. I 100% agree with the last point, that American politics has turned into a reality tv show, where we are 18 months away, and people have already started to campaign. It kinda maintains the political divide longer than it needs to. Tensions are always high around election time, but now it almost feels like its always election time. Polls show that the majority of Americans dislike both parties, and are tires with the constant stream of political theatre. I wish politics wasn’t such a big part of American culture

The education system in USA is a sh**hole if you are not very rich
In the US you can homeschool and give your child individual attention, and it's not super expensive. Tutors can be hired and there's plenty of group activities to do out there, especially if you belong to a religion where there's a strong community.
We can think the Republicans for that. They have been successfully dumbing down the American school system for decades.

Woke encompasses more than just 1 issue, its gender politics, Critical Race Theory, cancel culture, safe spaces and much more. It is a mindset that determines life choices as priorities by a handful of political elites, which shifts on a regular basis - often conflicting with current and past ideology. IF you don't think its real, watch She-Hulk or Velma, read the tweets and reviews on Hogwarts, remember the words of Kamala Harris about FEMA in Florida or Biden justifying a new focus on diversity in Government above all other criteria. See how terms are being redefined to accommodate Leftist ideals. Count the number of local politicians and teachers apologizing for being born the wrong color. DeSantis and others aren't being vague, Woke is vague and constantly shifting. To not acknowledge that is a disservice to Americans and international audiences.

I voted for Trump. Not because I liked or endorsed his message. He was a counterweight to what was happening to my country. As a white male I was expected to feel guilty for who I am. No specific reason, just because I was white. People often told me about my white privilege. My paretns were born in Poland to poverty. Escaped communism. Build a living for themselves by working construction and housekeeping. 10-12 hour shifts. Minimum wage. Please, have their white priviledge. I was working since I was 16. As someone who used to vote democratic (left wing) the far left extremists have gone too far and are becoming as bad as the religious right in trying to control people's thoughts and behaviors. It gets thrown around as a catch all for "pretentious" opposition so as to not be required to define or validate their own positions, while at the same time rounding all opposing views into a singular banner. People who have a strong case against something will make their point, they wont simply call it "woke" in my opinion.

What you so disparaging identify as extremist religious right used to be the position of a majority of the people in the land. The different view of the majority today is not the result of some sudden epiphany. Rather, the left would take an extreme position, and then argue that we should compromise and reach a middle ground. The next time, the same argument would take place with the left going even further as we reach for a new middle ground and so forth. In this way, one gradually arrives at the far left position and the majority ends up being conditioned to think society had a natural evolution to this new point. What was once extreme had become the norm and what was once true and good ends up becoming the extreme.
Anyway, it’s worth noting that controlling peoples attitudes and behaviour IS a natural part of society. It is precisely because we left it untouched that we ended up in this disastrous mess. When people are left unchecked, they take a deep descent into whatever whims and passions they have. What we see before our eyes is the end result of leftist aspirations. The liberal left is one of the movements that completely degraded the human condition to what we see today.
This quote applies to nearly everyone, on both sides of the aisle, in every country. The vast majority of people rarely, if ever, think about what is useful or necessary for humanity as a whole.
Usually I like DW, but this one's a miss. This stuff really is a problem in schools, some workplaces, and is arguably wasting government resources on dumb stuff instead of solving real problems.

He's trying to get people on emotion". We all know the average American voter spends hours upon hours studying the policies espoused by their candidates. They constantly perform self-debate and introspection regarding their choices and preferences to avoid succumbing to personal bias and misleading claims. Emotions never enter the political arena in the U.S.
Europe has the same populist BS also.... Just look at Italy, Hungary or Poland...and the rest of the countries have populist parties.... It just plays well in European media...
American politicians have only ONE goal: to be reelected. Forever, if possible. There IS no other policy. Since candidates have no policy other than to be elected, it makes sense that all of their campaigning is based on how incredibly awful the other guy/party is. It also makes sense that they should be as devisive as possible.

I find this reporting very one sided. When the the political analyst talks about abortion in terms of "womens right to choose", it's super clear she is biased. And I am pro choice. The report would be more interesting if it aimed at portraying both viewpoint and went into why people have problems with wokeism.

Unlike Trump and others Ron DeSantis is a very intelligent and clever person. He has the potential to win a presidential election as he presents himself as both anti woke but more stable and considered than Trump making him very popular in his home state. Creating wedges and using straw man arguments is something that both sides of US politics seem to engage in. Whilst Biden has turned out to be quite a competent president his age is against him (whether perceived or reality) and Ron has relative youth on his side.

Arizona has about 34% registered Republicans and 30% registered Democrats. I live here in AZ but used to live in FL as well. There are some really wonderful people both on the Right and Left and all across the United States.
