    Just secured a R34 GT-T here in the US, waiting until June to get it here legally so in the mean time please keep the R34 content coming. Love it!

      Awesome man - you're going to love it. I can't wait to see what happens with these when the US market starts to get more of them - hopefully it will mean a bigger market for parts. Definitely have a lot more R34 content coming so stay tuned!

    Terrific episode Cam. You are going to save R34 owners a lot of money with this one. I think most people approach disassembly the dash with severe trepidation but that was not the case here, good work. This reminds me of replacing the kitchen faucet or garbage disposal. Very doable, but awkward body angles involved. Thank you for filming this!

      Thanks Bob - was a PIA to film but got there in the end. As always, I appreciate the support!

    This is incredibly useful. Have to do cabin filters and an inspection for an AC leak this weekend. May as well do the heater core while I'm at it. Cheers

      Glad it helped - hope you got yours sorted. Mine turned out sweet and I now have 8 degree C air coming out of the aircon and the heater is working perfectly too.

      Thanks Carlos, love the feedback. Plenty more Celica content coming this year - want to get Violet Crumbles back on the ground and might even be upgrading the project to something more than stock so stay tune - hope you have a great year too.

    I bought a car that had looped heater hoses & it would overheat quickly when driven hard. The coolant was bypassing the radiator & recirculating through the engine as the valve to stop the flow was in the heater box area, I worked it out after changing the radiator & thermostat. I still have chronic unease every time I see a looped heater hose so this video has slightly aggravated my complex.

    • @TheBuildRoom
      @TheBuildRoom  Год назад

      Yeah I'm used to older cars that have taps to move the water flow around. Restrictions in the heater box seems like madness - good bottleneck for debris, muck and rust to catch in.

    I don’t have to do this luckily enough yet on my 98 but I’m glad I came across it on Reddit. Good watch and very informational. Will definitely come in handy if I ever have to do this. Thanks boss.

      Glad you liked it! Just a tip if you ever have an issue with the pipes themselves but not the core, you can buy billet pipes so you never have issues with the plastic ones again.

    Great informative vid. Just done my RAV4 core and unfortunately it was dash and dash bar all out. Took 10hrs. Looking forward to RA28 updates. Mine is finished welding as a shell on a rotisserie.

      @TheBuildRoom  Год назад

      Ooof 10 hours is rough, although still not a bad time for taking the dash out of a modern car. RA28 is going to have some minor changes shortly then clear coated so the metal is protected, then i'm going to get stuck into the RA23 as once the rear beaver has been replaced i'll be back in my comfort zone on bodywork and painting so that will be a lot more fun. Have you got an insta? Would love to see pics of your 28.

    Great video. I busted up the top heater tube putting the engine in. This info should make things doable. I will see if the S2 Stagea has the R33 A/C setup or R34 setup.

      You can get billet tubes also if you want something a little more robust.

    On watching this video....Yeah...I don't need heating that bad, my R34 GTT it mainly for summer time use anyway.
    But I do now know how to change the cabbin filter, so thanks.
    Just checked my engine bay, the heater core has already been blocked off before I bought the car.

    • @TheBuildRoom
      @TheBuildRoom  9 месяцев назад

      Lol, well you can't miss what you've never had right! Yeah a lot more effort than most heater cores so I don't blame you.

  • @gregwells5133

    This is a great video, I also have a 34 and I was thinking about deleting my heater entirely as I have a conversion and the hoses running to the firewall were causing me sad problems.
    One thing though, at 6:15 you pull the cabin filters out of the main box, and at 31:36 you say you don't have any... they have a little 'housing' that comes with the filter itself and they slot right in there. From memory there's two of them instead of one big one because Nissan Things.

    • @TheBuildRoom
      @TheBuildRoom  Год назад

      Hi Greg - glad you liked the episode. Yeah i messed up at that second bit - I have the filters themselves but the previous owner must have taken the filters and frames out originally, meaning I have brand new pitwork branded filters but now no frames to put them into - frustrating but not too hard to sort out down the track once I find the frames.

      @@TheBuildRoom I swear when I ordered mine they also came with the replacement plastic frame things. In any case Kudos would definitely be able to locate the part and buy them, your guess is as good as mine as to whether they are obscenely expensive or extremely cheap. Probably one or the other!

      Thanks - VC has been giving me dirty looks every time I walk past the rotisserie so we'll be getting to replacing that rear end and making sure she's all straight in the very near future, just have to get the R34 ready for daily duties and do some paint touch ups on my current daily so I can get it sold first.

      No, not on this one. If you're getting fumes in the cabin I'd start with the car gaskets, easy first point to diagnose
