    Incorrect regarding the GTT brakes not fitting up on to 25GT, They do infact bolt straight up as I have moved from the 2 pot front 1 pot rear to the 4 pot front and 2 pot rear and also put in a BM50 BMC to suit. It was quite a headache getting information before hand because one person would say the bolts holes are 12mm then the others would say 14mm. They are 14mm holes on all ER34 hubs and I presume HR34 hubs
    Also another way to distinguish from the outside is with the Guard Badges, 25GT has Blue and White GT badges as opposed to the standard Red and White GT Badges :)
    Edit: and the RE4R01B in the 25GT and GT-V use a seperate trans control unit away from the ECU, while the GTT Engine ECU controls the trans itself

      Thanks for the info man appreciate it little know fact is that red and white badges were a factory option too that’s why a fair amount of the NA’s have red badges the reason for this is the original GT badges on the skylines were red and white and it pays homage to skylines of old that were all NA with red and white badges. I appreciate the comment bro.

      @@MidnightMechanics I don't think red and white badges themselves were an option, I know that Gold surround with Red and White badges were an option for 25GT Turbo only but they're monumentally rare, Those NAs you see with the red and white GT Badges are probably 25GT-Vs which came with them standard or someone dressing their 25GT up which unfortunately is painfully common amongst my NA bros

    Are you sure about the vent on the side of the bumper? There are loads of 25GT Turbo's at the auctions in Japan that don't have the vent.

    • @MidnightMechanics
      @MidnightMechanics  3 года назад +1

      Yes mate if they don’t have the side vent it means they have swapped the bumper to an GT version and gone for a front mount intercooler as the standard intercooler is side mounted that’s why the vent is there for air flow. I can almost Promise that the ones your looking at have front mount intercoolers a lot of people do this when the move to a front mount so the bumper is symmetrical.

    I recently bought a 25gt with a gtt motor in it. I was wondering if I can add the three gauges with the pod from a gtt into the gt dash, since the gt dash only has an indent there.

    • @MidnightMechanics

      You can my friend, there are options online. If you go for the factory look you may have to cut the dash. This should help you. www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/282281-r34-gtt-triple-gauge-into-na/

    After watching couple of ur channels, i am really confused about my 2001 ER34 25gt?? coupe, the baget on it is red+white with 17" OEM wheels+ tiptronics automatic gear box, but my car has Hicas light on the dashboard, does that mean its a 25GT-V in lstead of 25GT?

    So these are becoming legal to import to the USA next year (2023) and I want one. I can sell my 1jz 180sx and get a r34 gtt however I would have give up my first car that is #2 on my dream list…
    SO, I’m looking at getting a GT or GT25 as I could get that while keeping my 1jz 180sx.
    The question I have for you since you’re very knowledgeable is:
    A R34 GT automatic VERSUS a R34 GTT. Will I be paying WAY too much to make a GT into a GTT?
    I have the time and future paychecks to turn a GT into whatever I want and keep my 180sx. I can’t however sell my 180sx, buy r34 gtt, and expect to ever buy my 180sx back.
    However if the cost to make a GT anything worthy of owning is substantially more than a gtt then maybe I sacrifice the dream 180sx…

    • @MidnightMechanics
      @MidnightMechanics  2 года назад

      Firstly thank you for the comment. Basically a GTT isn’t just a GT with a turbo on it. The suspension the breaks the diff and gearbox are all different. Thinking about it from a financial standpoint if I was certain on a turbo manual 34 I would choose this route. I would buy a GT and the fit it with R33 Turbo bits I would use the engine the gearbox and breaks your diff can be updated later but if what your after is the closest thing to a R34 GTT that’s your best route. Gauges can be added at a later date and you can use an aftermarket gauge holder that you can buy from eBay. It will look like the GTT style but you can fit after market items. If you have the ability to get a GT I would do that because even the 25GT and GTT are different. You will find a GT much cheaper then a 25GT. That being said if you are a purest person and what the “real deal” then get a GTT but if i was planing on modifying an R34 in todays prices I’d be starting with an automatic GT. You’ll get your iconic 34 look and you can work on it as you go. If you need any other info hit me up on Instagram @dimi_g17

      @@MidnightMechanics Thanks for the reply. I’m never been the collector / purist oem guy. I’ve always liked to do whatever I want which ruffles some people feathers. Later in ownership I’d probably end up cutting the quarter panels for wider fenders (not a gtr rep) and a BN sports kit so cutting up a GT would be less pain to someone’s heart lol.
      I hear what you’re saying and agree that the GT sounds like the right choice. IF the subframes are all the same then EVERY ARM and including the knuckle will be replaced anyways with GKTech suspension kit so the GT would be actually the better route. That’s with me assuming the subframes are the same.
      The GT25 RB25DE engine is not any better for me then like the GT RB20DE is no good so going GT saves cash there. Would be cool to put a SR20 in it. CA18det would be one hell of laugh at car shows with people seeing some sort of miniature “RB” but can’t quite understand why it’s shorter 😂.
      TLDR; Thanks for the input. Sounds like the GT is the one to get. It would definitely be a complete stripped down and built back up build, BUT exactly what I want.
