Very good mate. Particularly when you mentioned not feeling the maximum, that was my problem. I can say though, the timing comes. I've also moved mine a little further around the rod, so that it's about 4 o'clock on handle and that's more comfortable. Good stuff

Very good point about being able to feel the line at maximum tension. Thanks for the review!

great idea on putting it offset on the rod, I did that and was able to put my 5000 size reel without the cannon hitting the bail

I've developed a hard lump on my finger that does much the same thing.

Try wrapping the line twice, that works for me. Regards, Chas:0)

Great video. What breaking strain Braid do you use with your fixed spool reels?

Thanks Dan. At the moment I'm using 30lb whiplash with a tapered leader. I use the improved Albright knot to connect the two. If I was regularly fishing very heavy ground I'd probably switch to 80lb braid straight through. Chas :-)

Ok, thanks for the info. I am thinking of going over to braid. Do you suffer from wind knots using braid?

dantheman3k Not found it a problem, but that's why I've stayed away from lighter breaking strains.

Why do they cost $35-$45 plus shipping? I don't thing they should cost no more than $5.

Pit Dawg No idea mate. In the U.K. They're £11.99 which is still pricey.

if i use this canon, my braid line will damage or not?

No mate, the cannon was partly designed to help casting for straight through braid setups. Chas :-)

Hi Dol, I may well do that! I have to say that I think it's a cracking reel. I'm rehearsing a play at the moment which takes me to China throughout July, so it'll be a while, but I'm looking forward to making some more films when I'm back. Chas :-)
