Doug: Ed, do you want to come help me sell some rusty Italian junk?
Ed [from a bush in Sinaloa]: Nah, I'm busy
How's this not the top comment.. c'mon guys and gals, give the lad a like! :D
Ask he shrewdly negotiates with the Sinaloa cartel for his life.
This is fucking hilarious
No cap !!!! 😂😂😂😂

"Ed Bolian's grandfather's estate sale" 😂😂
hahaha. i was stuck on this...very funny Doug . Ed missed on his Grandfather's estate sale
VinWiki: I found 20 rare Italian cars rotting in a barn.
Hoovie's Garage: I just bought 20 rare Italian cars that were rotting in a barn.
The Car Wizard: I just bought another yacht.

Scotty Kilmer: Here's why old Italian cars are money pits.
Doug DeMuro: THISSSSSSSS, is a 1998 Rayton Fissore Laforza

Elliot Avis- I just bought one of hoodies cars
Everyone's a car collector until ed pulls out the el chapo F1 as his car for cartrek Christmas edition 😈

That would be incredible
I thought he couldnt find it

@@trilla7051 That's what he _said_ anyway...
man...this guy just described my yard...49 chevy 3100 in the yard. few mowers and 15 quads 4 dirtbikes...
When I was 16, I bought a Alfa Romeo GTV. I didn’t know that a paycheck of $100 a week wouldn’t be enough to maintain a used Italian sports car. We live, and we learn.
@grandma ashley when he was 16
@grandma ashley I’m assuming the same year he was 16.
Maserati is one of the most unreliable brands how didnt you think about it XD
What year were you 16 ?
@@danthrives Can't you read? He said it was an Alfa Romeo, which are equally garbage.
So.... I live here in Lexington and this collection is well known. When I mean well known, I mean everyone is aware of the random Italian cars spilt between three houses close to downtown. The guy renovated his house and built that garage a few years ago. Before that, they all sat outside and in carports. I think the local news even did a story on it. It was always so strange.
and he died 3 years ago. It doesn’t look like his house renovation was ever finished either.
I love how he called the LaForza a LaFawnduh like Napoleon Dynamite
Lafogetaboutit
Your mom goes to college.
The Laforza SUV looked like a 90s Range Rover but came out in 1984. I think it’s a cool car
Looked like a Mitsubishi or some shit to me..
importsstillsuck look up a 1998. In green or blue with a tan leather and tasteful wheels and I’d happily drive one.

@@twobighedz I think that's what I was actually trying to think of.
Looks like a fiat 127 SUV copied by the eastern europeans
Thats a 62 Chrysler, actually worth a nice buck
Came here for this.
And I condemn emphatically this story teller's intolerance and hate.
Obviously by far the best car in the collection.
@@jasonc.776 Intolerance and hate? Someone’s sensitive.
🗑
I’ve noticed everytime I see a la forza for sale there’s always two, one for driving and one to pillage parts off of
So what I take from this is when a Car ad says "garage kept" it don't mean anything....
Garage Kept But not Cared For...
Depends on many factors. That garage had ALOT of sunlight coming in, then there is concrete floor, climate control, pest control, was the car covered, and yeah garage kept, unused, for 10 years can equate to barn find.
@@jordancapps9521 Fair enough....

If Doug or Ed ever need any help with moving cars or doing "grunt" work, i'd like to help. Im a retired Marine Corps motor transport vet, and a car guy, and have plenty of time on my hands. I can help move cars, drive a flat-bed, clean up, etc...just love cars, and need a hobby....will travel. Love THE SHOW!!!
I always appreciate these knowledgeable and informative stories. It's to have info in case something comes across. "A hustler and a player; nowadays, it pays to be."
Isn't that in a outkast song?

Are you sure that the Merak's were SS's and not just a pair of regular Meraks with a couple of 38 quid SS badges on them?
I remember Top Gear mentioning that in an episode. Apparently, it was done quite often.
Jeremy Clarkson has a set he’ll sell for 10
Nope! But for the price I bid, details like that weren’t of the utmost importance. Titles, however...
@@switchcars nice of you to respond in timely manner
These might put out more than 80hp. Maybe they'd actually make it from London to Slough too...
That red car pictured when he says he thought it was a Cadillac or some American car was actually a Chrysler 300 and are generally worth good money. The convertibles with the cross ram intake are worth really good money.
I know right that was a nice car
Even as a young guy I saw that and spotted it as a 62 Chrysler immediately. Great cars!
Fun fact: Italy had a pretty good relationship with the USSR, which resulted in some very close trade links; the Fiat 124 becoming the Lada Riva being an example. Another example was that Italy got a great deal on Soviet steel, which generally wasn't the best quality, and rusted very easily. Italy bought lots of this steel to makes its cars from, and hence Italian cars of this era got a poor reputation for rust because they were made from poorly refined Soviet steel.
I didn't expect to see Doug on this title! Good morning!
Out of all of those exotic italian masterpieces... I'd take the Chrysler lol
same, those go for 20k even now if they have the cool globe gauge cluster
The '62 300 is the only one that wouldn't cost more to get running than the purchase price. "Some random Cadillac"
@@hippycow1006 I have one of those dashboards squirreled away in a shed somewhere.
@@theoldsmobilefox3101 ooh, i wonder how hard it would be to get it to light up for a wall decoration
@@hippycow1006 probably not hard at all if you know how to do electrical stuff. I bought it for a custom Studebaker build that never came to be and the back up plan was to hang the whole dash on a wall. But the thing is so heavy you would need considerably strong anchors to hang it.
Good to see Casey trying to build that bridge with Uncle Rabbit. Good sportsmanship
Hmmm, I was not aware. I unsubscribed from Casey's channel during that time. I liked him at 1st but his demeanor eventually wore on me.
I don't give an F what Casey does. I was so skeptical about his videos ( so negative about anybody and anything) that I never subscribed. His interactions with Rabbit only fortified my opinion. He (In my humble opinion) is only try to suck up because it hurt his channel. If I'm wrong...I still won't subscribe or watch his content because there's way to much honorable content on RUclips that I don't have to filter though my" l🎉🎉ens of decent people"...convince me otherwise.
None of those cars would have been financially viable to restore.
hoovie has entered the chat
Pretty much. The 400i is really bottom tier as far as 70's Ferrari values go but that doesn't mean that you won't spend a fortune on restoring it. A fortune that might exceed the approximate value of a Gold example. So yeah, I consider the Ferrari to be beyond repair.
All resto mod candidates all is powered
The Merak/s?
Only the Merak...barely. If they were Panteras.....different story
The camoflage maserati is quattroporte not a biturbo
THERE WAS A BITTER?!?! Holy CRAP! (And LaForzas, but still. BITTER.) This was by all accounts an absolute GOLD MINE. (But then again, I’m a sucker for weird, obscure crap, so I might be a bit biased.)
"Ed Bolians grandfather's estate sale"
A guy commented the same thing a hour prior to this comment. Your not funny
Which of us do you think could have sold the most of them?
My money would be on Rob. Using the Nascar as proof he can sell anything 🤣

Oh man I love these barn find stories!
Richard Rawlings would have snagged it for 25k AND he has a TV show
I bought a 25 year sitting 84 turbo esprit (at least it was stored indoors and looked great) but the hidden engine problems has handed me my ass. Cars sitting is usually the worst thing for them. And why are they sitting in the first place.
@The Emperor it’s been true so far
Bitter! Great German car based on Opel, very cool.
I remember seeing a Bitter SC on the street back in the 80's. Super rare car but also very obscure and not very collectable. Engines were provided by Opel, like the Senator.
"There was a Bitter" - depending on the model, that was probably the most valuable car there. The Bitter SC and CD were really rare - the company is still alive, but only tuning Opel models now.
Yeah, I remember when bitters were new. Basically a car that looked like a chevy malibu with a BMW drive train. Rare for a reason...
When he said LaFonda's it reminded me of Kip's girlfriend🤣
I need an El Chapo update
David has the car.
You don't know what a Chrysler 300 is?
Why would someone who sells Porsche GT3s and Aston Martins care about a Chrysler?
I was a bit surprised to hear that myself.
@@chancock4222 I didn't ask if he cares about Chryslers.
@@importsstillsuck But why would he know what one is? He’s not 70 and it isn’t a particularly important car.
Dude is in his 30's and deals in Porsches. I wouldn't expect him to know about pre-musclecar era Chryslers. Very soon, no one will care about that era of cars. The boomers who cared about them are dying off.
So Maineah! “Friggin’ plow through it.” Love that! DT has the story tellin gift. Thanks Ed! Great vids bub!
Hi fellow Mainer
This story begs the question: What are the proper precautions to take when storing your car/collection so that, God forbid something happens, three years doesn't turn your investment into this mess? Would love to hear wisdom from the VINWiki team 😁
You found "Tony's Garage". Legend has it, with all this inventory, he finally got the customers Quattroporte running.
"Lafonda" 🤣🤣🤣
That is an awesome story Doug and VINWIKI! That truly would have been an awesome collab and I hope it comes around again! 🤘TEXAS!!!
Last time I was this early Christopher Michaels was burning the tires off a crazy lady’s Porsche
My friend is a European car specialist, owns 100+ random old forgotten Italian cars, unique cars rotting away outside. 20+ Fiat X1/9, 2 Fiat 850 Coupes, 1 dual tail ight, 2 Lancia Betas, 2 Lancia Monte Carlos (Scorpians), 2 Alfa Romeo GTV's, 2 Alfa Romeo GTV6, MGB Midget, Datsun 240Z, Fiat 131 Wagon, Fiat Strada, 6 Maserati Biturbo including a engine swapped bi turbo, 7 Alfa Romeo 155's, Alfa Romeo 164 S Quadrifilgio, Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Quadrifilgio, Fiat 850 Sport spider, Few other 2000's, About 11 Yugo's! He restores them 1 by 1, welds, fabricates, engine rebuild, Paint. Absolutely EVERYTHING is taken apart & rebuilt! & Then many customers bring vintage Alfas, Lancias, Fiat's. There's a perfect GTV6, Scorpian, 328 Ferrari, Testarossa 512 in for simple repairs at the moment. Love his shop & it's always something new in & out there!
Doug's stories are some of my favorites. 10/10 would watch a Doug show.
I walk away when they start splitting things up. I’m not buying leftover junk.
2:28 I's like a Laforza!
"Lafondas" XD Napoleon Dynamite popped in my head
The one he did'nt know what it was,was the chrysler and in the picture was gorgeous. And if my eyes did'nt lie,was a 300. Worth more than a coupla thousand bucks.
Great story. Can never tell if Doug likes the car business or hates it...lol
Isn't that soothing to know that when you pass on there's going to be a bunch of guys just like this dude with their can't be bothered attitude sifting through your life collection... Yay life
I'm pretty sure you are describing the old adage, you can't take it with you.
I ain’t gonna lie... I wanted that C10 truck
Hoovie can bury some of these for you
Cars deteriorate indoors and I found this out first hand. Bought a 1993 Buick Park Ave for 400$ with 22,000 miles like 4 years ago. It lasted like 6 months little things broke here and there. One day the steering column snapped I had lost the ability to turn while I was driving. Point of the story is when I dove into the car to check the steering column you could see that EVERYTHING was dried up and fragile.
Sounds like the auctioneer or whatever was using you to set pricing for individual car sales XD
You need to get Dennis Collins to tell some stories
well said! loved the story
I'd love to know how the high bidder fares in the long run.
Well, someone´s having nightmares
Nothing like a bowl of popcorn and a vinwiki video
"I don't know what that was, but I figured it was worth more then two thousand dollars". LOL
The sad truth about mismanaged collections, or even just that one car rotting away in the owner’s yard because “he’s going to restore it one day” and “no lowballs, he knows what he’s got” - the sad truth is that after those people pass away, the family has no want for the car(s), and they are in such poor condition that if you spent $50k to restore it, the car would then be worth $35k. The pride and joy of the collector ends up in a scrapyard, and could even cost the family money to remove.
I'm pretty sure the bid winner is crying at the repair shop right now lol
I've stored cars outside that fared better than indoors - humidity, rodents, etc vs being nicely wrapped outside in the cold.
If the car ride high too the wind can blow the moisture from the grass out from under too
Sitting with salt too rusts less than in a warm area
@@chickensfloat7427 Not necessarily - Salt absorbs moisture. So long as there's not too much moisture to spread that salt around, you're likely good.
Looking at all that rust. The price of Italian parts. You dodged a bullet bro.
Doug here talking about Maine like you couldn’t find six washing machines in front lawns along 78 in Winder....
Not to be a pedant, but the car wrapped in camo is a series III Quattroporte, not a BiTurbo. Also that "Cadillac" looks like a Chrylser 300H - and I think people pay stupid money for those letter series Chrysler's at Mecum.
Sounds like Hoovie's dream barn find!
I would have loved to buy some parts off that biturbo! I’m currently working on a 1987 425i biturbo and looking for parts is so difficult
Such a true story of an estate that says one thing does another. A family ‘used car salesman’ ethic. They were not going to be taken advantage of, was their attitude. Somebody gonna want to take a swing at someone when all is said and done. You got lucky, as you said.
The Cadillac was a Chrysler300 and a Bitter (probably Bitter CD) Is a small build numbers german, quasi Espada build with Opel/GM Parts.
Sooo crazy! At least a good guy found them!
this guy just oozes im a douse bag,i cant stand listening to him talk
Doug doesn't give that vibe to me. Casey does a lil too often though.
I love the show as well as ed's VINwiki ! Car stories! i love American made corvettes~ I ran across Italian made car, fiat Spyder! I also had the chance to visit Italy! my personal thought!!!! i have no use for an Italian made car! glad you guys' money on them! not mine!
The Ferrari 400i looks like what would happen if you stuck the front clip of a third gen Supra onto an '84 Galant.
Why did I think Doug was wearing boxers for a second. lol
Good luck with those BI--Tubos 🤣
Good on you man!
There were so many red flags in that story! Lol. The whole time I’m thinking, “please just walk away!”
5:50 does gullwing motor cars get a bad rep? Grew up withing walking distance of that place, loved seeing their inventory
Last time I was this early, Doug got banned from buying Porsches
Lol
At 2:42 what is that red Maserati, my dad had one sitting in the driveway for a while but sold it to his friend and now it’s in his driveway
Get this man a TV show asap
I thought that was a Bitter SC on screen when you mentioned the 400i! They look very similar!
He did mention bitter. And I think the collection has both. Bitter makes it interesting.
It's Mike from Rust Bros Restoration, he bought them all LoL
I saw a maserati merak, one of my top 5 dream cars

Here in the uk we get our story’s out a lot quicker 😂😂
Was the Ferrari 400 in addition to the Ferrari 365 GT4 2+2 in the pictures?
I usually give Doug a hard time as a big exaggerator so to be fair I must say, Doug I really enjoyed this story, good job.
The Collection got it's start because nobody could fix it when it broke. Simple fix. Drag it into the barn and go buy another obscure Italian POS.
Biturbo: they would leave them unlocked overnight in the DFW Metroplex dealership worth more to Insurance than at the then Low Used Car Retail, but alluring for all the right reasons
This guys vibe is challenging
Who wears short-shorts, Doug wears short-shorts!
Every business has its ups and downs... but l respect people who go all the way, even if/when it doesn't work.
You should contact me.... I worked for this guy..... I could tell you the story on the previous owner (the collector) would be wayyy more interesting than the some of his collection. The only piece of the whole collection I wanted was the Chevrolet pickup which was his dads. I had tried to purchase it in 2011 but never could get him to budge. You should see the photos I still have of his yard and why these cars look the way they do...
That would have made a great show 3 salesmen with different approaches.
I am working on a Bitter in my shop right now, apparently only 300 made and only 5 in the US.
This guy is excellent.
