I haven't told this story yet. A year ago in June I found a lump and was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Due to medical personnel shortages from Covid, my treatment didn't start until Oct. I _always_ had projects, extra yarn, hooks and needles with me. I made several caps for my bald head, and even made a cap with crocheted "dreadlocks" for a chemo buddy. It turned out wonderful! At one point I had a terrible reaction to one of the chemo drugs and had severe neuropathy in my feet and hands. Oh, please, not my hands! I can't survive this if I can't use my hands! Praise God, they recovered quickly after switching treatments. My feet are still partially numb, but it's a reminder of how thankful I am that my hands are not. Chemo, surgery, and radiation are not easy - physically or mentally. But, I honestly believe knitting and crocheting were a HUGE part of my healing and keeping my sanity. I'm actually crying as I write this because I am sooo thankful for the craft skills I learned as a child. I had no idea how sustaining and nourishing they would be in my 60s. Thank you, Dad, for teaching me to crochet. Thank you, Mom, for buying those knitting books. 353 days later on Sept 28th I had my last treatment and I am cancer free.

OMG… Drop the Mic!!!!! This sweater has left me speechless.
I was blessed years few years ago to stay near Gila national Park, in New Mexico. A friend of mine lives there and that trip changed my life. I also went to a teeny yarn shop in silver springs,,which is an art city, and bought my very first Lykke needles. Was blessed to meet some fiber lovers that had a passion that was refreshing.

Jaw dropped! The main reason I knit/crochet is exactly how you described. Family, traditions, taking care of others. This sweater is a work of art that is timeless.
I would love more gorgeous knits and yarn! I also make greeting cards in all sorts of variety. I used to bead, but card making took over, then I found you and your yarn and now I can't stop knitting and crochet. Then you came out with the Mysa Wrap and It was so fun to knit and bead at the same time! Thank you so much for bringing joy and delight to my life. My skill have increased greatly, all thanks to you! Have a beautiful day! Love and hugs!!!

This project is stunning. I crochet and knit...but also I make handmade cards. I think cardmaking is a beautiful craft. The artist spends time creating...then sends it to someone who is reminded they are not forgotten. They are loved and remembered. It's a craft that reaches out, and connects us. Beautiful.

I aspire to knit something like this one day. I think I can, I think I can... I enjoy crochet, knitting, photography, acrylic pour painting, all kinds of crafts really. It all got started with those looms that make potholders WAY back when, and latchhook, paint-by-number, macrame, etc as a kid. Didn't learn to crochet and knit until I was well into adulthood.

I think I had that pot! All kidding aside, this design is truly striking. As a guy of "a certain age", I'd not make it cropped, but that's one of the best things about knitting - it's always so adaptable. My parents made sure that I was exposed to lots of crafty adventures, either at home or through local classes at the Y, the scouts or other youth clubs. There was wood and metal working, pottery, plastic molding, jewelry making, wire sculpture - the list goes on and on. In the 60s and 70s we made a lot of candles, especially ice candles. My apartment is too small for something that involved today, but it was a lot of fun. Nowadays I knit, crochet and sew and occasionally do a little jewelry work. You know, all the things a guy of "a certain age" can do sitting down.

I do love this sweater. I was immediately thinking of pottery as soon as I saw the pattern. It's a skill sadly that alludes me. I've tried a few time but just end up with a blob of clay! Oh well.
I love knitting and crocheting. Coloring has brought me a lot of joy also. From doing it with my grandchildren to drawing full images. Reading is also a big passion. Curling up on a chair with my current book, being transported into by imagination into far off realms and lives.
I do have audio books, but nothing beats holding and being engrossed in a fabulous page turning physical book.
Love both the sweater patterns this week. Take care sweetness. xxJane 🐑🌈

I have some of this pottery and the sweater is spot on! I retired 2 years ago, taken on DIYing and have almost completed redoing my second bathroom. This time doing new flooring, new electrical outlets, switches and light fixture, and all new plumbing. It’s been a wonderful learning experience on how things work but very stressful at times. Another needed relaxing video. I swear, there's something about your presence that makes a person want to be mindful of their breathing and be at ease for a moment. Besides knitting, which I do now, and pottery, which I used to do some time ago, I would tinker around with jewelry making. Mostly beading, though I wouldn't mind a little metalwork. I used to want to make soap, but the older I get, the more that one is something I just like to daydream about. I wanted to do spinning, with an electric spinner now though, but again, that's more of a daydream now. I'm usually pretty happy as long as I'm making something however it gets made.

This pattern is my happy place! Thank you so much for this wonderful surprise this morning.
One of my grandmothers had an immense love for the southwest and was born in the Oklahoma territory. Every year, at least once, she and my grandfather would travel throughout Indian Pueblos and collect artwork and pottery. I grew up loving to listen to their stories and had a deep appreciation for the art and pottery. Even though she didn't make the pottery or knit the textiles, the love of family was there.
My other gran taught me how to knit! It is definitely my favorite hobby and while she tried to get me to crochet, I've only found a few projects that I loved enough to finish.
The combination of these two beloved hobbies passed from my family rings true in this one pattern. I usually anticipate your Friday email and download the pattern with a "someday" cast on date. Today's was a visceral calling and a huge dose of nostalgia. I just deeply wish that they were both still here to enjoy this as much as I am. Thank you ❤

I have taken up darning and sashiko embroidery in addition to sewing. In Japan, we are expected to sew many things for our children for school - a gym clothes bag, a lunch smock bag, shoes bags, and wiping rags. But as things wear out and become more like a golf course or swiss cheese, I now get to revert to our ancestors' wisdom and "mottainai" (do not waste) mentality with darning and sashiko. The "unshin" or the movement of the needle is very therapeautic like knitting!

I love knitting and crocheting because they are mobile and I can take them with me. But I also love to sew (loved the concept of making a model shirt pattern for sewing) and gardening. Yay Friday!

What a pretty sweater with such a cool stitch pattern!! Besides crochet, knitting and Tunisian crochet, I love cross stitch and painting. I'm not very good at painting, but it's soothing none-the-less. 😌

    I love this pattern
I hoping to make it soon. It looks so warm and cozy. ❤ I have never made a sweater before.
I love to crochet and because you make such wonderful and easy to follow videos I am learning to knit
And I love to cook and bake 😋 I'm always looking for something new to try. Got to eat right. Why not try something new every once in a while 😋

What a super cozy looking sweater! Can't wait to try it
I mainly crochet but I also attempt to knit 😂
I love cross stitching and just got into embroidery. I also play with shuttle tatting.

What a beautiful pattern. When I’m not knitting I like to paint and crochet. I have tried many other crafts over the years. Cross stitch, candle making, and so many others- some fails, some not. Next on my list to try is spinning. 🤞

This is a very unique pattern! In addition to crochet, I'm now taking up knitting. My original love though is painting and drawing. ❤

The colorwork is so unique and pretty on this design, and the glossiness of the yarn base is gorgeous. Although my favorite craft is knitting, I have also enjoyed dabbling in crochet, embroidery and very simple jewelry-making.❤😊

Besides knitting and crochet I love making wire jewelry, painting, dyeing yarn and working with resin. I'm a crafter at heart so I'll try anything crafty. I can't wait to make this sweater, I haven't knit very many cowork projects.

Yes jaw dropping!! I recognized the pottery inspiration immediately. I’ve so many many crafts over the years but the ones that stuck were swing ( made lots of baby clothes) and crochet. And now in my old age I’m learning to be a knitter. Great tip on avoiding the jog.

Oh my! What a lovely pattern and I love Dewy DK! Knitting is pretty much my only craft, but I recently discovered my mom's old sewing machine so I am going to try my hand at sewing! Thanks Chandi and EFA Team!

I love a challenge, this pattern has new techniques which I love learning. I try to learn something new every day. Through the years I've loved doing crafts (was a Girl Scout Leader). Stamping, macrame, crocheting (made my first Afghan when pregnant with my first child), reading, long walks, beaded ornaments. I just finished a knitted cowl and my work in progress is the MKAL Shalanket. I keep busy. Enjoy the Fall weather.

I also like and would love to learn more needlepoint crafts like cross-stitch. I do like baking here and there and cooking but knitting/Crochet is definitely my major crafting.

I love to crochet, and I'm using this channel and tutorials to learn to knit! I love being able to create something that brings joy, and yarn is always so scrumptious to search for and buy. You can never have enough! I also like to sew, and paint, even though I'm not very good at it lol. Thank you Chandi and EFA! 🐙❤️🧶

Hi Chandi. Beautiful sweater! I’ve never seen that technique used for jogless knitting. Very cool. I’ll have to try that! Love German Short Rows for shaping. I love knitting of course, crochet, Bargello, cross stitch, needlepoint, embroidery and would love to learn how to quilt. I dabbled in ceramics in college. Thank you for another beautiful pattern and a great tutorial. Have a lovely weekend.❤
