I have never made a shrug. Not because I don't think I could, but I am a full figured gal and shrugs all depict a tiny gal wearing them, so I thought they would look silly on me. But this pattern has me inspired, I am going to give this on a go. I also like the crocheted bottom. I think this will also give it a little weight to stay in place better.

Love the collar and a thought came to me, when I make this, I'll add a big scallop to the back, and thanks to the Lady Eve shawl that I made for a friend, I'll use the short rows technique. My first big project besides a blanket was a shrug. My friend had a cozy cable one I loved, so I made up a cable pattern that was similar and copied her shrug. It took me 2 years to finish, but I love wearing it!
I haven't made a shrug yet but I received one as a gift in a mystery challenge with my kniting guild where you took home someone else's yarn and then made something for them. It was a lot of fun and I just love the highly detailed, beautifully made shrug I received.
