Yes, Jet was the best. His bass lines were awesome. Even Bruce said that Jet played a great 'melodic bass'.

Hard to explain, but the original four Shadows here (Hank.Bruce, Jet, and Tony) were the best. There was just something about these four together, had most hits on their own. Later Shadows lineups were bland in their music.

As a yank, I didn't have much exposure to Cliff's early songs. When Devil Woman hit, I became an instant fan. I'm really digging these vintage clips.
I have been a fan of Cliff Richard since I was a teenager and I am 71 today. Cliff was good and his voice was special with his good looks and personality. He had a great personality and to this day I like him better than Elvis. But I feel because of his age he has lost that special tone in his voice. That magic is no more. He is a still very great classy guy!
From the late '58 till '64 Cliff was a brilliant singer / rocker with the famous Shadows! Love those rockin'days !! After '65 the R&R slighty turned down and Cliff became more a allround singer through the years.

Probably the boys best rocking single after Move It. A very good live version considering there were no floor monitor wedges in those days and probably why the audience were like motionless dummies and the girls not screaming so the lads could hear themselves! The restoration of the film is superb.

How many times have we heard this nonsense... Donner and his fans have OFTEN claimed he was first to record "Nine times out of ten". Unfortunately, as with far too many historical claims by our Colonial cousins, the facts suggest otherwise. In this case, Donner's version was recorded in Miami on May 24th 1961. Cliff's version was recorded at Abbey Road over a year earlier, on March 15th 1960 and released in September 1960, becoming a Number 3 UK hit.
But hey, never let the facts spoil a good story, and to be fair the song was co-written by American Otis Blackwell.

OK, saw him in Brussels in 1964 and it was not much better.
After every more or less rock song he said : "to slow down a little bit the atmosphere" he started some lazy ballad. Such a shame!
Even The Shadows gave up their Fenders for those ugly ladylike Burns guitars, probably some commercial deal.
According to Hank the Burns guitar was a collaboration between him and Burns to develop an "improved Strat" the requirement being in tune with the Strat but with more variation in Tonal controls-it took two years before Hank pronounced himself satisfied and the guitars were then manufactured

Wow what a dynamic performance, even back in 1961. And the filming was so perfect and Cliff's expressions and catching the camera just so right.
