This is the cure America needs: Real people. With real values and lives. Not the fake and phony shit, the secret and often fucked up lives that the "celebrities" are. Thank you. No it's more like why does he hoard money when he could use that money to increase the quality of his families life/ donate to charities. Hoarding money is its own form of greed and materialism.

Such a breath air to see this video. 58 year old immigrant here who've worked for same company for 32 years and going. Even now, most of the furniture in my house is second hand and there are days when I eat simple grains, like rice, corn, oatmeal and beans. I travel often for work so if my house was burglarized or even completely destroyed in a fire while I was gone, it wouldn't even matter. With this mindset, I was able to raise 4 kids and have them all attend university with great futures ahead of them. Having a sizeable 401K along with a pension, i could retire today, but that would mean I'm playing computer games for 15 hours a day which is what I do when im off work on vacation. The peace of mind of not worrying about losing all of your worldly possessions and not racing others in the materialistic rat race is probably the most valuable thing a person can possess. Literally you walk around knowing you can buy virtually anything you see and go to any high end restaurants without even looking at the bill gives you a confidence no possessions can give you. This may explain why I find Asmongold's videos so relatable and entertaining.
Congratulations on figuring out at such a young age what it took me decades to figure out. Most people live their whole lives trying to make other people happy and end up being miserable. Once you find out what it takes for you to be happy, and you work toward that, then you can be happy, and others will either accept you for that or they won't. It doesn't matter because you will be happy. I am 61 years old, a computer gamer who lives a modest life and drives a 10-year-old Mustang convertible, not a fancy GT. I like to wear Hawaiian shirts and listen to north European metal music. I don't fit into the box that other people think I should as a senior citizen. And I am ok with that. Most people don't like me for it, but the people that do, generally find I am very likable once you get past my weird geekiness. Zach, always be true to yourself and you will remain happy.
@@loraleiffxi Nightwish, Epica, Dark Sarah, Dark Princess, Kamelot. All the best metal comes from North Europe. Actually, Dark Princess may be from Russia.
I wanna put "Most people live their whole lives trying to make other people happy and end up being miserable." "Once you find out what it takes for you to be happy, and you work toward that, then you can be happy, and others will either accept you for that or they won't. It doesn't matter because you will be happy." On a T-shirt, what a quote.
I'm on the same wavelength in a way. I spent years living pay check to pay check feeling frustrated about not having enough money. I have now doubled my wage and brought down my outgoings. Paid off loads, car finance etc even walked away from having the latest phone on contract to having a sim card and a 2 year old android (one plus 8). Ultimately I don't feel any happier but the worries are gone if something goes wrong. I just want a stressful free quiet life with a few laughs along the way but being 40yo now unfortunately that doesn't happen. All you can do is be patient work towards your goal and stick to it. Everyone is different though so you can't apply the same advice to everyone. Just find a happy medium and hold onto it. Enjoy the small things. The things that make you laugh or cry. I'm still driving a 16 year old ford focus btw. It never lets me down so why change it right? Great video. It really made me think.
When you start to follow him more and learn his personality, he really is a solid dude. But just like any human beings, he has opinions that are both good AND bad. From what I saw, he owns up to his fuck ups when he shits the bed and will allow himself to grow further past his own prejudice, I think him finally playing FF14 and ACTUALLY enjoying it since he went in with an open mind pretty much speaks volume of the type of person he is, you just can't fake this type of stuff up without it sticking out like a sore thumb. Overall, A decent dude who's not affraid to speak his mind up and, just like everybody else, make mistakes. The difference here is the fact that he OWNS UP to them instead of letting his personal pride get in the way.
The thing about him that I like is that you can agree and disagree with him and he won’t let that change his opinions and mindset. Now that might sound dumb but think about it. These days people’s opinions change as often as asmons chat spamming KEKW
Did you try praying for him? Kidding :) Zack is great! I feel exactly the same. There's just one huge difference. I just found my new passion (music and games) and I can publish it. Even my previous passion, IT and web development, left me completely broke so that I hardly can make a living and support my family, spoil my kids, and pay my bills on time. And he's sorted for life now. But I'm not jealous and I'm really happy for him. He deserves it. I hope one day I'll make it too. If my old MacBook Pro with an Intel chip doesn't burn and leave me with no device to work on... HAHAHA. But @ZackRawrr, thank you for this video. You inspired me to live and keep trying to do my content and not give up, and wait for that moment when I die to release me from day-to-day responsibilities. Love you, man. You are my role model.

Brother, I watched some of your videos and streams, and never realised u have such a great mindset. And it really resonates with me. Because I am too from a wealthier family and also dress like a normal guy. I dont really show of the wealth. I am actually a bit insecure about that, ppl dont like rich people, they think they have it easier, they look at you with despect and because I know that, I try to hide it, it never did me any good - to let ppl know around me that I am from a rich family. And I kind of felt alone, didnt know there were more ppl like that. I just try to get my life together in other ways, than just getting money, bcs I have a lot of years being depressed behind me, having ptsd and adhd too. Getting medicated and therapy and starting to do things that make you happy, instead of what other people expect of you. Trying to build a life that makes you happy, gives you purpose. Money cant buy you happines, and most ppl dont realise that, because they never got there.
Its good to see an 'influencer' that isn't all about flexing their home, cars, money etc. Its so rubbed in our faces through media that we need these material things to be happy and heres Zack telling folk what should actually be important.
Yes! Living a materialistic life means the objects in your possession control YOU, not the other way around. You become a slave to your luxury car, expensive house
There is a huge range between flexing materalistic things owning a Mcmansion/lamborghini and living in a dump though. I dont know what his house looks like now, but given nothing is done since he made videos from his house 7-8 years aho I would guess its not the most healthy house enviroment to live in with rats/insects and so on.
I know this video is ancient history at this point, but this is something I'm passionate about and the video really resonated with me. I struggled with ego due to insecurity growing up and it took the military to grind me into fine dust and then build me back up in a way that allowed me to recognize and value many of the things Zack mentions here. What impresses me is that he was able to pull these things out of life on his own. I've always said that being an intelligent person is not based on what you know, but rather about how you think, and this video explains a lot about his success. I've seen comments and discussions online (even in the media at one point) where people express complete bewilderment at Zack's success. Like what's so special about that guy? Why is he so successful! He doesn't do anything unique! That's the thing! It's not about being special or trying to be special or "trying" to do anything at all. Like Zack said, he knows who he is and once you know who you are, you can become the best version of yourself. Becoming the best version of you means you can tell all those conformist lemmings bastards out there, who try to tear you down because you're different: @#$% you, the horse you rode in on, and the cavalry behind that. You don't need them anymore because when it comes to who you are, you're the trend-setter and they need follow your lead or be trampled by your success. I believe everyone has greatness somewhere inside of them and the key to unlocking it is humility. As humans we relate to each other through our flaws and weaknesses, not through feats of superhuman strength that only a handful of people can relate to. Humility is one of the most underrated traits in America right now, while being the most valuable when it comes being a successful person. I think that when you're a successful person, you'll automatically be successful at whatever you try to do without it feeling like work and this video helped me understand why Zack is an example of this. Hollywood believes projecting an image of materialism and strength is how success is defined, which is why everyone in Hollywood is sharing the same marble. If Zack had started this video wearing 5000-dollar Gucci sunglasses with a Lamborghini in the background and 2 gorgeous cosplayer babes on each arm, I'd have been like - bro, seriously?! next! I can't relate to that! Ok, long post and apologies if this came across soap boxy, just something I'm passionate about! Great video, thanks a ton for sharing!
I was scrolling through the comments while having that thought in mind! Like I was thinking about the Shire and how peaceful it was and then I finally found this comment.
This video is pure gold. I mean, I will not pursue this "extreme" minimalistic way of life for me, but I'm glad with all that I have at the moment, and I don't have much. But, every time I get something material, I remember that I don't need anything in my life to live a good life, only me, myself and I (with good persons around me and Health). Thanks for this relate. I will always remember.
TRUE I think it might comes from his streaming experience. Yes, he rambles from time to time and you're not quite sure what he's trying to say BUT usually he knows exactly what to say and how to say it. This guy is an actual 5Head
Agreed. RUclipsrs who make cuts between the end of sentences and beginning of new ones drive me crazy. Yeah, it speeds everything up, but it makes the speech entirely unnatural. With Zack, you feel like he's talking to you like a normal dude you encounter on the street.
@@BS-qe3wc Nop, it doesn't. Thats just like saying someone's argument is less valid because the video has cuts. Some people talk too much and want to make the video faster, some people just like the jump cut style, some people just correct the way they said something. Imagine saying that a writter has to write his book without correcting anything lul. Anyone can practice the video before recording and do the ''uncut'' i am not criticing Asmon btw, just point out that this ''uncut'' argument is not really evidence of anything.
i’ve always known of asmongolds existence but have started watching him consistently in the last couple months. wow man what a video. i’m actually glad that i have only just come across this video rather than 3 years ago when it was uploaded. i feel as though i’m going through this exact realisation in my life right now at 22 years old, realising that having “things” isn’t all that important. it’s about having good strong relationships and constantly growing as a person and doing things you love. really appreciate this heart to heart video asmon, speaks tons about your character.
This is simply beautiful. Apart from the astonishing fact that Zack can talk like that for 15 minutes straight without a teleprompter or notes, the message is so important and positive.
Absolutely! I think it is an ongoing process of growing up and growing to accept who you are and figuring out what your own values and needs are, which is so liberating and peacefull.
I definitely agree with that, and I *think* I've come to that conclusion myself. I don't get happy buying stuff, but the things I do buy do make me very happy
A millionaire gamer doesn't need a big house with a pool and a gym, four cars, four kitchens, four bathrooms, four maids and four chicks. What he needs is four fourteen-thousand dollar gaming rigs, high quality internet, and a mini fridge with Dr. Pepper.
"Its very important to buy things that make you happy. But its equally important to make sure that buying things doesn't make you happy" Quoted by the great Asmongold.
I have a leased car and I accidentally put a cigarette burn in the fabric right above the window. It gave me terrible anxiety for days. I quit smoking cigarettes because of it (bonus). I identify with you, my friend. Please keep up the good work
Peace of mind is really one of the most important things to me too, and you're right about the fact that things own you often more than you own them, if you're not careful.
That quote is really pointless. Okay people who have no loved ones but have money exist. Now what? Whats his point? The money made them not have friends? Should he go and burn his money then or what? You can be likeable and have genuine friends while having money, and you can be an unloved asshole while not having money. This is just some pseudo-wise anti-capitalist rich people bad talk.
I never thought I'd encounter someone else who thinks similar to the way I do, I've watched a few other of his videos on his main channel where he's giving advice and describing how he lives and I myself have had a very similar mindset set, instead of sams I worked at Walmart tho, I took on the simple lifestyle where I don't pursue thing's or money because I feel it's a waste of time, time that I could spend being with friends and loved ones and looking out for them, there was a time in my life when I had a lot of money and I was depressed, and there was a time in my life when I was homeless and became happy, these days I've found a pleasant in-between where I work part-time for my basic needs and that's it, I have a fair place to live now day's and I'm happy with what I do have and wouldn't have things any other way, I know who I am and my lifestyle choices aren't for everyone, we gotta embrace who we are and build the life we want weather if it's what's considered a successful one or not, as long as we're happy and have people we love and that love us, love is all we need and we need to remember to stand strong and do what needs to be done, only we can make the life we want
I just had his new vid come up and am I crazy??? I added one comment there bc he literally went on about how he barely scraped by as a child so poor... this is creeping me out and I haven't seen anyone acknowledge it
I know this is an older video, but its a very important message to be spreading. One of the most transformative experiences of my life was learning how to "scale it down". My issue wasn't really materialism, but in hobbies. I have a wide variety of interests, and had a penchant for doing it all. These were all things that I cared deeply for, but due to the immensity of hobbies I was trying to juggle, I never had the proper time to do any of them. I would see all of these "in progress" hobbies around my house and all they did was stress me out. I hated that I didn't have time for them, and when I finally got around to working on them, I hated myself even more for not making sufficient progress (due to not investing the proper time with them). It was a major source of depression in my life and I would find myself sitting and doing nothing, while staring at 10 different things I could be doing (and wanted to). It was like being in limbo in my own life. I finally had to sit down with myself and examine all of these things I was trying to do, and ask how they were (or weren't in this case) truly serving me. It was hard to give up and let go of things that I truly cared for, but once I ripped the band-aid off and found a level of happiness ten-fold what I had by being able to invest myself into the few things I loved the most, I never looked back. This topic is applicable to many facets of life, and reflection is an absolute must when attempting to extract as much happiness out of this already short life we have. I hope you're still finding the the same level of happiness in life that you were at the time of recording. 👍
Browser tabs. My brother insists that when he started forcing himself to close or bookmark tabs when he was done with them, and make himself close or bookmark tabs at the end of browsing, one by one, he became much more selective and aware of what he actually cared about or would bother to get around to. He said it was remarkable how much it cleared his head and made him appreciate the effect of clutter in real life on his mind as well.
1000% this, my brother was obsessed with his appearance in middle school and high school and I realized how superficial and conceited it made him and his friends appear. I also saw how hard it was on my mom, he begged and guilted her into buying him the most expensive clothes and shoes and it was completely heartbreaking to watch. I would always try to make up for it by encouraging her to buy me the least expensive clothes and making sure she knew she was doing a good job just by making sure we had clean clothes to wear. Thank you for sharing, hopefully it will shed some light for other people.
Well thought out. I myself am on this path. I'm not sure if I am as distanced from material things as you are yet, but I'm fairly close I believe. I do put value in longevity of an item, but it comes back to the same reason you have, not having to worry about it. An example in my life would be gaming chairs. Went from normal staples/amazon chairs, do a $400 couch on wheels essentially. Then to a Titan chair, to now finally a Aeron Miller chair. The move to the Aeron miller was due to not wanting to wear out chairs and be fighting with an everyday thing, like your car. It was around this time that I found lots of value from investing in forever items. The goal is to never worry about it again. I wear $7 Amazon T shirts essentially, because if something happens to it, I can order more and use this one to paint with. Which is the opposite side of the coin, a consumable, I want the cheapest one because a forever version doesn't exist. I had never bought a new car before in the first 36 years of my life. I bought a new car and it was one of the best things I did, no longer was I worried about if that sound WAS the thing that was gonna break the car and cause me stress. I'm guessing there is a mental divide, you are relieved when you know it's cheap to just buy another one, I'm relieved knowing that odds of having to deal with it is very low. You and I are both at a point I assume where income far outweighs what we spend. I definitely looked at things different when you can buy anything you want at all. Be it that lambo, or the Taco bell meal instead of the value menu. I now just buy costco/amazon clothes in bulk, and focus on traveling the world and creating content and doing what I love, which is business and aquariums. The money was secondary once my rent was paid which was a long time ago. I believe my success and perhaps some of yours as well comes from the simple lifestyle, if you aren't driven by the money, you make different choices. I've passed on plenty of brand deals and such as the money doesn't change my life. I do have a saying of, if the money won't change my life, why would I do it if I don't want to? At a certain point of income no amount of money would change your life and you're free to make decisions of your own choice. That becomes liberating. I now design products knowing that if they fail, it's ok and not a burden on my family. This leads to more innovation and chance taking which is much more fulfilling. I appreciate you making these videos as they are about the only videos I watch on youtube these days, I average less than 2 hours a week of watch time in youtube, but genuine content like this is the most intriguing to me.
I'm watching this after he lost his mom and when he mentioned that he lives with his mom still, it made me choke up. He spent his whole life being close to his mom, something that many of us wish we could do the day our mothers start to decline..Nothing else matters except that I want to be close to her in those final days. Cherish those memories.
Agreed ! I realized that now and after a 7 year old relationship that kept me so worried about my ex girlfriend and busy with her, where she wouldn’t let me see anybody, hardly my mother, now, I finally came to realized that my mother is the most sacred thing I have and I’ve been spending so much time with her lately that fills me with joy. If I die tomorrow I won’t be sad, because the last days have been blissful.
At least he spent time with his mom while she was alive. Most people can hardly wait to be 18 and move out, and they don't realize nobody cares for you more than your mom.
It took 3 years for a video like this one to guide me through a difficult time in my life (at 37 years young) to realize my current situation with a materialistic crisis along with my identity being defined by brands and products from head to sole. This is really toxic people! It truly is a burden that weighs heavily upon my mental day-in-and-day-out just to feel like I’m somebody for wearing clothes that look cool and appealing to friends and strangers. You are a real one for sharing this, and I’m really glad I came across your channel last month. Thank you for sharing your journey and insights. You are a national treasure!

I have known you through your streams in the last few years and I instantly saw you were just yourself and didn't need to prove nothing to anyone. Today I came across this video and everything you spoke about just sat well with me as I shook my head up and down in agreement to your thinking. I have almost the same views you mentioned but what really brought me a smile, was the reminder of my handsome amazing son who is in heaven. He definitely had your same philosophy of life and that was to live life in your own happy way and didn't care about material things. He noticed right away that we live in a material world, and he would always simplify things to me by telling me to ask myself if I needed the things I just bought, wanted to buy or get rid of what I already owned. So much of you resonates with my son and since his passing, a lot of how he saw this world is the way I see it now. I now try to live my life way less free of hassles and stress. I was already not about material possessions, so I have really toned down and excluded lots of things as I know it's just temporary stuff here. I could go deep into more details, but I will just leave it here and tell you thank you for just being yourself. I enjoy your streams.

@@CleanReal I absolutely agree with you. I can say this for the majority: The happiest people are people that do not have to think about money or financial stability.
CleanReal Yes i think that is true. Having to stress over money can make a person very unhappy. But that does not mean that having excess amounts of money will make you very happy. You just need enough to not having to stress over money. But that bar is different for everyone because if people buy very expansive cars and houses they can barely afford, they still will have to stress over money.
"And be a functioning member of society" - I believe you already are, more so then most people. The entertainment of your streams and videos - or better yet, all of the content you provide for others to enjoy is certainly helping them cope with the negatives of life, help relax in the hectic, and often times harsh, world we live in. Consider for a moment how many people out there might be depressed or have problems, or are just feeling down, and your stream or video made feel better. Even slightly. I can assure you, that number of people you help by proxy (by the content you make) is much higher than any therapist can say for their achievement. And they are sure considered functioning members of the society. So don't doubt for a second that you are not. I'd say you are more vital then most. PS Full disclosure, I'm not saying Zack is a therapist, but I strongly believe that his work is therapeutic.

I just started following your main channel a week ago (sorry) and I have to say, it's timeless; meaning you could have uploaded something that's 3 years old or whatever, but the opinions are still relevant. This showed up in my feed and it was nice to get to know you a little nit more. So thanks for that. You're honest and wholesome and I appreciate that. In some ways, I admire younger folks like yourself who have an opportunity to express and share like they do today. I'm a trader. I've won and lost it all many times and this too has led me to be more practical and humble with what I have. I want to finish and win the game, like anyone else but I also know that excess is not success. I wish I knew at 30 what I know now. You're a very fortunate man to have the introspect that you do now. Contentedness is happiness. We all get there when we get there. I'm happy for you and proud. I'm probably older then your mom. I was introduced to warcraft when I was about 50 years old by a friend who was around 60 at the time and had just started playing with her son. I fell in love with the game and the concept of 3d virtual worlds. We had so much fun running around in the world together. It felt like we were young girls again. Zack, you've over the last year or so gradually become one of my favorite streamers - and now THE favorite since a few weeks. I have not been watching as much on Twitch but on RUclips as this fit's my own schedule better. Since the Dr. K Interview I've now also been watching your IRL videos more often and I start to feel the parasocialization kicking in HARD dood. Not to worry, I'm fine, I know the apropiate viewer-streamer relationship bouondaries. I am basically just writing to tell you that this video here, and also the Dr. K Interview, had me experience some kind of enlightenment. Some kind of "click" moment. An identification process, if you will. The thing is, you don't only talk the talk, you live your own advice and that's mighty inspiring! Also, you "suffer" abuse on a daily basis, sometimes it seems your own community is mobbing you the hardest - and you just keep your chin up and your attitude about life doesn't seem to suffer. I admire that a LOT. Being bodyshamed or memed on is an experience I haven't dealt with positively for the exact reasons you pinpoint. "Who gives a shit?" yeah well, I do too often. And I don't strive to become careless or unempathetic, no. I strive to become as content as you in just being myself and being enough that way. Thanks for opening yourself up to the world like you do. I'm sure there's many more people like me who usually lurk but take much energy from your content. Many more than those memeing on you. Stay awesome dood!

As much as I love Zack i have to say it im sorry the pretence is all wrong living a humble life is normally a hardworking one, interacting with people and helping others / outside of yourself. No doubt you help a lot of people as a streamer but gaming does not fit into this category as it is more of a way to run away from life protect oneself from the real world than anything else. the world is hard for a reason it is supposed to teach you stuff and make you humble, you cannot do this by running away from life and call yourself humble. thats not how it works. LIFE is supposed to be hard thats what makes it enjoyable, look at all the tribes in the jungle/africa etc and see how they act. go travelling to fiji see how they are all one loving community. that is true happiness / humility in my opinion. tuning in with nature, getting closer to that frequency is the only way, and that is not possible on the computer im sorry i wish it was, have ice cold baths/showers, run outside, get a pet, volunteer, travel. You are nature and as you have come from it you will return to it.
Start learning Russian, reading Russian philosophers and classics, thou will begin to understand our mentality, and thy life will change even more, and in a way that thou cannot even imagine. And the very first and simple thing that thou will understand is: "what a miserable and primitive English language is compared to Russian ..." (of course, after thou realize how hard it is to learn, but many people already know about this, although awareness it is completely different).
going from his newer video where he explains his childhood and life, it seems more like he doesn't want anything that he has to think about because he was so stressed out and depressed as a child that he could only afford to think about so many things. He couldn't afford the stress that comes from worrying about his clothes or items, and he absolutely didnt have enough money to dream of anything more than a tv.
He's not living a hunble live, he's living the life (which some of us dream of having in some aspects). He has his group of friends, a loving family, parents, his basic needs are covered (housing, bills, etc) so inspite of all the life troubles, he's living a very rich life money aside. Very good.
I'm sure he's also a multimillionaire, he's just not showing it off or really cares that much about it besides for the security. I can get behind those kinds of multimillionaires.
@@TheLuca1992 47-55k a month tops in subs add like half of that in donos and he isn't nearly as rich as people think he is (like it was said before he doesn't do sponsors which is where a big chunk of the money lies for most streamers)

Hey, if you're in college or planning on going to, I would really advise reaching out to your department advisors as these individuals can provide a fountain of guidance as well, I speak from experience. (It also helps if you both share a passion for the major, but can still be helpful if not. The point being, reach out as higher ed institution instructors have more liberty than HS counselors to help and empathize.)
There's a reason why Asmon.. Zack endears himself to so many of us, because even though we know he is very well off and could go buy a supercar, buy a big house etc, he chooses not too. Far too often these streamers/RUclipsrs become big and suddenly they are making their vids/streaming from their clinical and professional setups, flexing on how well they are doing and I believe this alienates them from their "core" base. The fact that Asmon still streams from the same room he always has endears himself to people. It's not clinical and sanatised. The fact that he chooses to sit in the slightly beaten up chair, instead of a mega gaming chair that every other streamer uses, just makes me smile. Please Asmon, never change.
Ahh, this channel is an interesting window into the past. Neat seeing Zack work through and talk about the streaming fame. I appreciate the Asmongold TV persona and entertainment, but Zack is a cooler dude.
I'd say it takes a lot of self-reflection to achieve this kind of mindset. And I think it's really helpful in life being able to just look at yourself from a point of view that is as unbiased as possible. Recognizing the "problem", not lying to yourself about it and in the end accepting it.
Ghetto Peasant Not really sure what you mean. This man has an extremely successful stream, makes a ton of money (which he does not care about), and is happy doing what he loves. I say he has already won. Quit being so negative.
“it’s important to buy things that make you happy, but it’s equally important to make sure that buying things doesn’t make you happy.” that’s a damn good quote
It's all about not placing your happiness upon the external for it is the external that you could never control. Or in other words, external freedom can only be achieved if internal freedom is present first. Anything we do outwardly is only an expression of what we are inwardly and so anything one might be after, whether it be peace, happiness, riches or great accomplishments must first be found within. To look for anything else is absurd.
People are so narrow minded when it comes to money. They think money = buy lots of stuff = happiness which is clearly false and therefore people say that money can't buy happiness. Money in the right hands, like mine will definitely grant me pure happiness. Money will give me the only thing i want and that is complete freedome. No longer a slave to trade my few life hours for money. Help others and also do whatever i want when i want. I don't care about material things but money will give me time and a state of bliss.
“It’s mainly the people that push a square peg into a circular hole, and the fact is I’m a fucking triangle” I love the message here. This guy might be a wow nerd but he is pretty dam good motivator. Zack is actually really smart
I love how at the end, he literally improved his own mood and became happy just by saying to himself how much he has in his life, the important things.
My name is Asmongold. I'm 29 years old. My house is in the northeast section of Texas, where all the villas are, and I am not married. I work as a streamer for twitch, and I stream for 6-9 hours. I don't smoke, but I occasionally drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I sleep, no matter what. After having a glass of dr.pepper and doing about twenty minutes of stretches before going to bed, I usually have no problems sleeping until morning. Just like a baby, I wake up without any fatigue or stress in the morning. I was told there were issues on my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies, like winning and losing, that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to get in a mount off, i wouldn't lose to anyone.
Asmon has the right mentality. Its not money or expensive shit that makes you rich, its the quality of life you have and the close friends and family you can always count on.
I love this guy, mentally so beautiful and caring inside people are so blessed to have him in their lives, this man would do anything for his loved ones and not with his money alone but with his HEART.
I used to be an athlete in high school, stud baseball player, and hung out with the "cool clique" at school. I distinctly remember my senior year thinking one lunch how much I would've rather been sitting at the "nerds" table talking about gaming, lol. When you grow up and mature, learning to accept you for you is really important. Great vid, bud!
I always wished I could go back and quit football. I was in a 3D modeling class that I loved but when football season started I had to quit that class. The kids in my 3D class were really cool and I hope they’re doing well.
Same here, man. I was friends with everyone, but I did a lot to try and fit in more with all my rich teammates, and became judgy. One day it hit me...i was ashamed of who I was, and wasn't going to be any longer. Like snoop dogg said, "just be you. Because no one can be you, but you."
I know you have been around for awhile, but I recently found you while trying to find something in WoW. I'm a 69 y.o. granny who enjoys gaming, honesty and openness in people. "Money doesn't solve all your problems but it does solve all your money problems" - Naval Ravikant. Your idea of being more fulfilled by being able to have the thing you wanted rather than actually having the thing you wanted is a great example of knowing you have enough money to solve your money problems IF they arise. The second part of knowing which money problems are real problems and not self-imposed ones is some power self-realization. Thanks for this video.
Woah, I’m a 53 year old gamer, who drives a Honda, and I listen to European rock (Nightwish, Dark Sarah). Nice to see a fellow geek in my age group!!

The Cicada in the back was going CRAZY

In other culture, living with your parents even beyond 18 is not uncommon. Perfectly fine, practical even
In most asian countries, living with parents is seen as normal and is encouraged because you're actually taking care of your parents in their old age
At least he spent time with his mom while she was alive. Most people can hardly wait to be 18 and move out, and they don't realize nobody cares for you more than your mom.

And I think it's really helpful in life being able to just look at yourself from a point of view that is as unbiased as possible. Recognizing the "problem", not lying to yourself about it and in the end accepting it.
Fun fact: He rather has a rare mount than a lamborghini.
100% haha
Spectral Tiger
Lol
you mean pink sparkles?
Ghetto Peasant Not really sure what you mean. This man has an extremely successful stream, makes a ton of money (which he does not care about), and is happy doing what he loves. I say he has already won. Quit being so negative.
“it’s important to buy things that make you happy, but it’s equally important to make sure that buying things doesn’t make you happy.” that’s a damn good quote
unless its wow, then buy it. every month.
8:04 - Hahaha "I think we can all agree that worrying about weird sounds your car makes is not an enjoyable experience" well said...
“It’s mainly the people that push a square peg into a circular hole, and the fact is I’m a fucking triangle” I love the message here. This guy might be a wow nerd but he is pretty dam good motivator. Zack is actually really smart
What do you mean actually, of course he is.
most gamers are pretty humble, remind me of my old days as skateboarder, where all u needed was a skateboard and the people around u.
I love how at the end, he literally improved his own mood and became happy just by saying to himself how much he has in his life, the important things.
Fun Fact: He’s filming this on the Peak of Serenity
Rip that zone
He's filming this on place of power that he created. His energy manifest through high vibration there
He's filming this from the Widows Peak
wow i loved hearing every bit of what you had to say. it really helped with whatever it was i was wondering.
Although, if I were to get in a mount off, i wouldn't lose to anyone.
ok jokes aside, you made me laugh :D
Except for Jrammy lmfao
@@MightyJaytube Mine? Why do you want to know that lol, its Lokader.
i came to this video just for this comment, nice job
he's 30 now
Asmon has the right mentality. Its not money or expensive shit that makes you rich, its the quality of life you have and the close friends and family you can always count on.
Mosquito at 5:00 got me punching myself in the left ear.

WutFace
physically cringed, thanks

I love this guy, mentally so beautiful and caring inside people are so blessed to have him in their lives, this man would do anything for his loved ones and not with his money alone but with his HEART.
"dont let items define you" - guy known for wearing the same shirt every day
"Can I uhh get that?"
The viewers define him by what he wears. It's outside of his control.
literally proving his point!
- guy who grinds for every single wow item
The irony is that in WoW, it's the equippable items that make the character.
Yo man I have had a pretty similar growing up as that so I feel you so hard with that man
@MF SHACO Too much social pressure in the "cool clique", nerds don't give a shit they are just all friendly.
This really spoke to me. Thank you. I've been binge watching you all week. I'm gonna smoke another bowl of medicine weed and watch more of your stuff and laugh :) Hi five from Seattle.
😂 ur a gangster grandma if u really are one :)
Badass granny
@@datscrazy4095 The video on their channel from 9 years ago really makes me believe it, that is so pure
You're A LEGEND! :D
Wtf
Dude, you’re just a good human being. And I’m glad that you exist bro. You’re one of the coolest streamers and youtuber out there! I’m glad I took the time to listen to this video fully. Love your content man and I’m glad that you’re still doing this! New sub here btw🫡
It's a great reminder of how a quiet life can be very fulfilling
The only thing that I would want money for is to have my mum given the medical care she need and for me to not wor kjanymore so I have time to do stuff I want to and sleep in cycles I choose...
Ummm… If all your problems are money problems... Money solves all your problems.

Nice one, Gandalf!
This is why in game I refuse to transmog and only ride a Brown Ram.
This wouldve been fine in older version of wow but now with the gearing system of m+ all the gear that you will most likely wear looks like garbage cause its overpowered dungeon gear thats better than raid gear so you look like a clown
fuck transmog
@@Botlivesmatter00 You've always kinda looked like a clown in wow. That's probably a big reason everyone wanted tmog to begin with...
riner9 honestly kinda agree, I miss how your gear’s appearance was an indicator of how bad ass your guy was
@@rottencorpse2162 Not true thats what tier sets are for lmao plus the dungeon gear actually used to look unique and cool now its all reskins and the raid gear was themed around the tier set generally

Asmon is a really positive influence on his audience i believe. He's humble and honest. Sure he plays the silly guy in front of the camera, but he have values which he shows and (as he's done here) explains. I'm really glad a guy like him got into this position where he is an influence on so many people. I might be 1 or 2 years older than him but damn do i have respect for this dude.
Asmon you are not doing a good job. You are doing a GREAT job.
I agree. 3-4 years ago, I didn't watch his stream, just saw clips and thought he was a douche, didn't really factor in that these guys are entertainer's.
Now that I have watched more of his genuine shit, I feel he doesn't get the credit for his strong/fair values and how articulate he is. Very switched on guy.

i watched this video just on a binge of asmon and emiru and i found myself 5 minutes in looking all around me and all i saw really opened my eyes as left, right, up, down its all just name brand and every single thing were all items i felt i couldnt live without getting that exact thing and it made me realize it was never about the brand it was always about what people saw me with and what that made them think of me and now i just thinks its all a sham like who am i and what do i want to be because i dont want to be known as the guy who always weres nike or something but i do want to make it and be rich being able to do what i want to do to the extents i already have but not having to worry about the restrictions of life stress and money. i love you for this video asmond it gave me a whole new perspective of life
Gains money stays humble, this is what everyone should strive for..
"Cuz if you're blessed with a talent, utilize it to the fullest, be true to yourself and stay humble..."
And yet he spends money on arena boosts and carries. I don't get this guy, how can you call Asmongold "humble" ? Is it because you are that big of a fan boy you've forgotten the fact that he's admitted on several occasions that he gets carried? He clearly has an ego, when it comes to Warcraft anyway. And yet he is contradicting himself with this video.
Economy, society and most countries would go to shit if everyone had this mentality. Not that I'm complaining.
@@thenarrator3632 so your comparing what he does in a video game to how he seems in real life? Plus you know he uses arena boost and im the fan boy.. that was a decent try young man but not good enough
