    I live in a van. Nomadic. 68 yrs old. 4 plus years now. Everything I own is in my van. It's not crowded. I have floor space. It's a simple life. I like it. Peace. A lot of people ask if it's hard? Uncomfortable? Hmm. Not really. It's actually nice to go to Walmart and see all the things I don't need or want. Nature is my spiritually. Thanks for this video.

    I got married to a man that I love so deeply, quit my job physical job that I had for 17 years, sold my 2 houses, relocated to a beautiful state where I can go to the woods everyday. My husband is not rich but doing well for his self. I don't have to work and he pays for everything. I am 50 and have never been happier in my life. Surprisingly, every women that I know, white and black, has been angry that I got married and changed my life so drastically. They wanted me to struggle in the system with them. Women told me don't get married and to hold on to everything. I did the opposite and found a simple love and a simple life that makes me so happy. I love caring and loving my husband. It is a joy.

    Something I learned the older I get is A LOT of people need drama and chaos. I think they don't want to have to think about what is going on in the world or their past or something so they need to be involved in everyone's business and always need to be thinking about the next thing rather than sitting and like, just existing for a day.

    It seems life has turned into something like processed foods. Instead of just simply eating an apple it has to be boiled, puréed, add sugar, add preservatives and coloring, send it through a package line, and voila you have applesauce (and that’s probably a simplified version). I’ll just eat the apple, lol. I love your message. Simple is good!

    • @DJ-kw6zk
      @DJ-kw6zk Месяц назад +17

      THIS. People often seem to think that 'living a simple life' or being a 'minimalist' means going to an extreme, where deprivation is a necessary result. That's not the point at all. It is simply a process of making decisions and forming behaviors where you make more room for more important things. Example: I simplified my life years ago by leaving social media (except for this YT platform). Leaving all that nonsense allowed more room & serenity in my psyche for friends, family, meaningful activities, etc.

    When your life is focused on achieving and getting things, you deprive yourself of your most precious asset: the present moment. Your are never enjoying your life in the now, paying attention to the birds singing, the sunset, how the warm water in the shower feels in your skin, the laughter of your children, etc. your mind is always somewhere else in what you don’t have and want. Nowadays we have planes we have beautiful boats beautiful cars phones if you don’t like those things than yea that’s pretty weird. Some people I mean love just being in nature and just living I guess and looking at nature or whatever. But most people want to achieve and make there life’s better. And yea that’s the reason we’re even talking to eachother from across the world on RUclips. Because of people with drive and ambition and vision. Basicly some people are lazy and some people have ambition and vision and drive. The ones with ambition and drive and vision they make the most money and are able to own the nicest things in this life. Nature and enjoying beautiful scenery and all that is beautiful and awesome also but achieving and yea bettering yourself and your situation that brings me happiness also foreel. When I was at university, overwhelmed with college studies, I used to think about the same things and I used to envy prehistoric times when our lecturers mentioned how simplistic their lives were. I would often feel some yearning for nature and simplicity.. Some things just felt so unnecessary and artificial to me. I remember my friends talking about how Denmark decided to reduce working hours to 6 instead of 8 and I thought how fruitful it'd be to work less and have more time to rest and do all the other things people want to do. However, the slavery system never wants to allow that easily. They don't want us to have the time to think through all of this. This year was a celebrity exposee year for instance. All the people that they polished up and sold to us turned out to be monsters or the abused ones behind closed doors. There remains one question now, how long will we continue to put these people into pedestals and how long will we continue to give our self-power to this system?

      I agree,im a 35yo male who hunts and fishes here in australia.Alot of those skills are lost,however even with our bigger populations people have become more lazy than ever.
      You can live a self sufficient life style and live off venison & fish if your willing to learn.There's so many resources here that people could take advantage of to ease the cost of living pressure...however people just prefer to blow their paycheck at the pub,alcohol and on drugs and whinge about things on social media.

    My life is complex and chaotic as a result of my choices. I made dramatic decisions based upon my ego that have added layers of complexity and exposure to even more liabilities. I turn 49 yrs old soon. I had achieved most of my professional and financial goals at 46 years old. I didn't know what do next so I very quickly dismantled it all to create the chaos which apparently I'm accustomed to. Truly crazy. Probably some midlife crisis sh*t I know it will take years to set all this right even if I were to rewire my thinking. Simplifying my life is a definitely goal. If I don't achieve it at least it was a good wild ride! Thx for posting the vid.

    15:59 suburban off grid for the win! My dad wants me to put in a drip system , the one we have is already broken. I’m following Gary’s gardening channel and learning the ways of Bonsai! Sand! Clay! Moss! Passive technologies always superior in the long run. Once we sure up our base, we can play with active technologies as a “bonus.” But we should always embrace ancient practices that work without electricity, it takes stress off the grid and also stress off ourselves for having to worry what happens when the grid goes down!
