    Yaas!!! Tip #1 is golden and stopped my breakage completely, literally moisturing the crown every day or even twice a day!! Annoying, but it works. You have the best haircare advice on RUclips hands down 👊

      I wore pony tails from 2000 to 2010 and I think it sensitised the follicles in my crown. As soon as I have any stress or vitamin and mineral deficiencies, that area is the first to go. I think my sister and my mother are the opposite, it's their edges.

    Hi Ms. Karen, I’m one of your newly subscribers from Mississippi. I have been transitioning from relaxed to natural hair for approximately 1-1/2 years. Your videos have helped me so much. I was telling one of my co-workers about this video. My hair is shorter in the top and been having issues with itchy scalp. When I go to salon this weekend, I will getting 2 strand twist but will not be sitting under the dryer. This video was for me. Thank you and keep informing the community. God bless you!!!!

    Hi Karen I used to suffer with bad crown breakage. I started to section the crown separately from the rest of my hair hair on wash days. I do the LCOS method to each section and I also started doing the baggy method to my crown section and my hair started to flourish. So yeah sectioning my hair from 4 to 5 parts worked wonders

    WOW!!! Karen, this came at just the right time for me!! Yesterday I was depressed because I noticed a little breakage in the front. I think I've been combing too roughly. I was so depressed until I almost gave up my natural hair journey ☹️ And next month will be the anniversary of my big chop. I've come so far. I can't give up! Also, the front has been looking a little mushy. I do protein treatments once a month, so I don't know what really happened. My brother has been so supportive, and told me please don't go back to the chemicals

    • @marleyhill34
      @marleyhill34 2 месяца назад

      Which brand and product protein treatments are you using and what is the protein (s) in the ingredient list? What is your porosity? I have high porosity and genetically weak hair. I use a heavy strong protein once every 4-6 weeks. It may be too strong for medium or low-porosity hair. I use Aphogee Two-Step Protein Treatment which has Hydrolysed Collagen as the second ingredient. You shake the product up into a foam otherwise it's too watery to distribute. It dries hard, then rinse it out with warm water and then use a protein-free deep conditioner afterwards.

    • @luwanabennett1054
      @luwanabennett1054 2 месяца назад

      @@marleyhill34 I have high porosity hair as well, and it's also between 4B/4C. The protein treatment is by Miche. It's a balance of protein while providing moisture. The proteins are wheat amino acids, soy amino acids, hydrolyzed baobab protein ( that's the first protein mentioned on the jar), and hydrolyzed silk protein

    • @marleyhill34
      @marleyhill34 2 месяца назад

      @@luwanabennett1054 If you have high porosity hair, this deep contioning treatment by Miche, might not be strang enough because the protein is the 10th ingredient.

      Hey Ciera! Thank you so much! This handband wig is from Her Given Hair. Its the coily headband wig: www.hergivenhair.com/curly-headband-wig-p-467/
      Also, I shaped it and do a two strand twist out to give it this look. Enjoy! And I agree, I am not a big extension person for that reason -- too much weight on the follicles, but a wig -- just what I need because I can take it off!!!! 😂

    Great video, very informative! I have thinning on the crown and front of my head due to CCCA and female pattern baldness and have been struggling with styles to wear. I've been wearing a wig for the last several months and wanted to try something different but was wondering if doing crochet would be a bad idea. Last time I had it done it was so tight and I'm worried about further damage.

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  2 месяца назад +2

      Hey there! You can do crochet if your hair loss is under control. Also, it is so important that you go to someone who understands how to work with women with alopecia. Crochet is an option but its it too tight and installed incorrectly it can further exacerbate your hair loss. Check out these videos:

    • @KarenofCurlHouse

      Hey Lauryn! I suggest moisturizing products that contain water and other emollients, and many times these products also contain oils in them. Or you can apply water based products and apply oil to lock in moisture. This video may help explain it better: ruclips.net/video/htfug2dCAls/видео.html

      Hi Linda! Some products are unnatural “fragrances” and then others have natural fragrances from essential oils. Which are you allergic to? You can also check out Melanin (I think that’s the name of the product line) as she has many products that are fragrance free.

    If the follicle drops are used daily how frequently should someone shampoo? Once per week or more than once per week?

    • @KarenofCurlHouse
      @KarenofCurlHouse  2 месяца назад

      Hey AceButterfly! Yes -- they are light enough to use daily, but less is more for daily application. I recommend you shampoo at least once a week, but you have extreme scalp buildup/flakes, then twice is week is recommended until you can get the flakes under control.
