Anyway to anyone wondering about the song i mentioned in the past quick announcement vids featuring cats id just like to say that its going to take a while because morb's been busy with college and animation takes up a lot of time to finish. so songs will be delayed.. however expect a new oliver song on dec. 21 :)

This is such a cool song. It seems to me that Leech Boy lives with very paranoid and conservative parents because of the reference to climate change being fake and vaccines causing autism. The leeches latching onto and then eating away at his brain are symbolic of his parents enforcing their ideals into his head, causing him to become increasingly ignorant. However, as most of society has very different values than those of his own family, he becomes torn and anxious. I think that the Leech Boy setting the church on fire is symbolic of him finally rejecting his parents views. Just my theory though.

Holy shit, Steam. This is too good. Morb really outdid herself with the art. I'm in love. I've missed her artwork accompanying your songs. Nova also did an amazing job making the PV flow. It's considerably more professional looking than your older PVs, such as the PV for Secrets of Wysteria. But, most importantly, this is a really catchy song, and I love the way you tuned Oliver at the end. Very few producers can make Oliver sound clear and simultaneously breathy the way you do. Great job, as usual! Can't wait for the December song!

this reminds me of this graphic novel i read called "Through the woods". In one of the story's, it centers around this girl going to a vacation home with her brother and his wife. Turns out, the wife was actually a bunch of leeches inside of a dead human, controlling and morphing it. Her reveal was absolutely terrifying. I recommend the book, its filled with amazing art and creepy twisted versions of fairy tales and some original stories (like the leech lady)

I'm pretty sure 2+2=5 represents the unnatural tone of some of these songs. It doesn't show up in whysteria because that actually happened.
I think it's because a lot of Steampianist's songs deal with more so insanity than others.
Anyways, a week after I first saw this, I would like to thank both you and morb. For the past year I've been searching for an art style and music style, thinking everything had to be sweet and lovely or sad and longing. I completely passed over any sort of creepy and Gothic stuff. When I first found your channel, I was shocked by how creative all the songs were, and how eerily fantastic the lyrics were. Thanks so much for getting me inspired to draw and compose again.

When I opened up my phone I saw the notification for this song and I threw my phone up in the air and screamed. I caught my phone but my sister probably thinks I'm crazy

my immediate thought is that the leeches are intrusive thoughts? I deal w them a lot so I guess thats my take on it. especially with the little phrases that pop up that you need to ignore but they keep popping up and being more and more damaging. also explains why he holds such a hatred for the leeches and any they drain him, he's being drained of his real moral values. "whisper evil in my head" and "eating at his sanity" support this. I also really like the theory that this is about nasty parents but I just think intrusive thoughts fit better ig

The way the story is told is genius.
If anyone doesn't understand the symbolism or the plot, this comment is for you.
The story is about a boy who lives with over-religious parents, and they whisper all sorts of stuff they believe into his head. The boy wants to believe what he wants, but his parents force him to listen to their believes(symbolized by leeches eternally sucking out his sanity, the leeches whispering evil into his head and the random phrases that we see like "vaccines cause autism"). It reaches a point where the boy officially looses his sanity and snaps. The church burning at the end can depicted in two ways. The church burning symbolizes the boy finally telling his parents he rejects their ideals and views. The other depiction is that he actually burned down the church he and his parents go to as another way to say he rejects their believes. In the end of the song, the lyrics go "Evil nasty Leech Boy, possessed and pale with madness". You can depict it any way you want, but personally, I think it likely means that even though he can think for himself now, he has driven himself into a state of insanity where he will be a cruel person protesting against religion due to his brain being completely destroyed by his parents.
However Steampianist seas the plot, the way its told is great. At least to me.

The seasonal Steam-morb song has become a yearly staple of my Halloween. Great job guys!!
This was one of the first songs I listened to, and now watching it again, I realise he probably had very conservative parents and religious leaders and doctors and whatever but what if this is from his perspective? He "burnt the church to ashes" or cut off all the toxic people in his life. These people in his life were the leeches and he's gone crazy listening to the "evil whispers in his head". The fact he burns their bridge to him, he's seen as an "evil, nasty" little boy, but to the people he considered leeches.
