I bought an ARB 2500 for my 98 ford e150 conversion van mainly because of the 8x8 tent that attaches to it. At the time, I didn't know it had a hard case option. I understand about the hazards of off-roading damage, but the van has its limits with 2wd. The first time we used it in Idaho, what was supposed to be 15 mph winds turned into 30 to 40. Amazingly, the canopy handled it OK. The tent wouldn't have if not for the 4 foot step ladder I put inside to reinforce it. I still like it, and for families, it's a nice addition and doubles as a bathroom at night. By the way, good substitutes for tent stakes are gutter nails available at any hardware store.
Congrats on the Inside Edition appearance. Now I have a go to expert to listen to. Great review, I have the same outlook on these items. I camp out the bed of my truck and use a Roadhouse SlumberJack as my shade/awning/rain protection.
I can’t believe I’m finally getting all your videos!! It’s like RUclips wasn’t notifying me of new content.. I have lots to watch now.. Great videos as always.
Awesome how you just go everywhere u want and LIVE your life unlike most of us. What an awesome way 2 live. Life is short. I need to do wayyyy more while I can. I just been in a serious funk since 2014 with awful things happening in my life n I became really stagnant and self isolate. I'll never be who I was but I'd like to try 2 have some type of fun n happiness in my life.
For my 04 Tacoma I got the Radica expedition topper, gives you 2 feet higher headroom and 6.5 feet side to side. Not a lot of room but very functional sleeper, 100% weatherproof.
Richie your reviews always influence my camping, food storage and first aid purchases. I'm not sure if this will work on my bus but I will definitely check- it- out. Thanks Richie. "Share, subscribe or don't." 😉
What kind of bus Mark? I’ve been considering a roof rack for my 2002 shuttle bus conversion, but not sure an awning has poles long enough to the ground..
Heading out to Moab and beyond for some fun exploration, but nothing as crazy as what you do. Awning has been on list of essential. Thanks for the review and sharing. God Bless and stay safe.
I Believe in ONE TIME RIGHT & That's Alot Because Were On A Budget & Can't AFFORD TO Just Replace & Replace, We Want To Get What We Need & Move On, So Thats Good To Know 😉👍👍👍👍👍
Awnings are expensive, I’ve just gone to bringing a pop up awning carry it on the roof get them for like $70 and I outfit them with clamps and tie downs to add tarps makes an effective add on tent for the camper.
What do you mean quality in a product that's almost unheard of. I have friends at camp out and I'll let them know about this. You take care of yourself yourself. Thanks again.
Hey bro, I know you've been thru a few RTTs. Looking to get the best lightweight durable easy-up clam hardshell for my lifted '87 R10. The easier the better cos I'm a short female over 50 in Canada, lol. Can u send me a link to which one you've settled on these days? Thanks :)
Sir my feelings were hurt by the truth...that I don't have that awning....or that bumper. I'd like to speak to your manager so I may express my anger in a way that is not comprehensible to a normal human being 😁. Thanks for the review, been recently looking at awnings and wasn't aware there were models with hard covers vs the cloth covered ones which not only tearing them on rocks and trees an issue but just vandalism sitting in a parking lot where some dick will slash them as well.
Hey Richie ~ You have an awesome set-up! Just wanted to know if dry-rot or if mold and mildew is a 'problem' ... is the awning made with special material to prevent these concerns?
No offense Richie, but I have had the arb awning for many years and have had no problems with it at all. If the wind takes it, it is kind of on you, bro.
Seems like a good option. If it’s basically a copy of the ARB, how would this one not also break over your roof when you set it up in wind and no staking? 🤔
My only problem is I don't need any of that shit. It's a whole lot of excess weight. It's unnecessary money spent..... And I'm 50 years old and I've been camping all my life and I've never needed it yet. So I'm not trying to hurt your bubble or your pocket there big boy Richie but as you know I tell the truth. And I'm like Cecil and ever thumbs up or thumbs down. And I'm always jumped in people's asses about the title of their videos which are misleading and deceptive. The only one I don't need this shit that's a pain in the ass headache and unnecessary nuisance something else I have to take care of clean wash dry stored here store it there move it here move it there pain in the ass......

You’re right, WY wind is brutal, especially in the colder time of the year.

Im in no offeneded thewind has taken the ezi awn and it didnt bend and snap like a twig so enjoy iy man.
7:00 The EEZI-AWN awning only last 4 months? And this is the good one? 🤯

It’s not a copy of ARB other way round. And it’s made better the arms are paper thin
I would take your advice about almost anything! 💛🙏❤️
