I took my college class on a spring break field trip to the Grand Canyon and made a stop at the Petrified Forest. It was a geological wonder, but one of the things that blew me away was a travel cabin made from pieces of the logs and mortar by the Anasazi that they used to spend the night on their way to and from working on their dispersed small agricultural fields in the floodplains of the rivers and streams that also supplied the water for their crops of corn, beans and squash. It lacked a roof, but the pieces of the logs were exceptionally brightly colored in purple, reds, orange green and brown among others and must have been amazing to have been inside of at sunset and sunrise. Lives might have been shorter in general, but time was perceived completely different and at a truly human pace similar to life on farms in the post Revolutionary War up until it began to change during the Industrial Revolution. Even so, there was still the experience of living a complete and meaningful day during my life when we visited my relatives on their farms and everyone would sit on the porch and catch up following supper as twilight turned to dark and the children played in the large front yard with cousins from eye sight just down the road and we drug out the calls to come inside and prepare for bed before they had TVs. It didn’t change until I was in my 50s and 60s and all of my aunts and uncles passed away.
I digressed, I strongly recommended to my students to not remove any of the petrified tree rocks for ethical reasons and to demonstrate their integrity. I can not be sure, but for the most part, I have faith that most if not all were good people and made excellent professionals and citizens.

He proves you the Giants did exist and that they are petrified stones with organs. It’s pretty mind blowing.
You should also check out the museum that’s near the Superstition mountains, talk to the curator there that place is cursed and things that have happened to people that have gone up there. I don’t even think you should go up there. And you’re pretty gutsy. I’ve seen many things in Arizona. Just saying. So glad you’re doing some other type of videos lately. Really enjoyed this.

I loved that place! It's so beautiful but bleak. Puerco Pueblo was especially interesting.

I didn’t know they had chainsaws hundreds of years ago! The logs cut like that are a crock of 💩

Many cultures where taking rocks has bad mojo, Hawaii gets rocks returned from tourists, Native American artifacts taken back from where they were found, because of bad mojo. Nice content, enjoyed and learned something, thank you.

Great vid Richie. I visited the Pertified Forest several times as a kid during our regular summer vacations from L.A. area to Oklahoma on our uncle Bills farm. Good times as yes me and my brother are sister did in fact pilfer a few small stones. Did it ruin our lifes ?? Naw, not that I can say. Our family was pretty screwed up way before visiting that place, LOL !!
