I have found my holy grail channel! Thank you sooo much!! My face has become extremely asymmetrical over the last 6 years & I"m totally ready to do face yoga, have different practices etc. I do have tmj so I my start doing this after years of yoga, massage, etc
I had severe TMJ issues to the point I couldn't open my mouth more than a centimeter, and so I was in physical therapy for a couple months due to it. This is one of the things they taught me to do as having your tongue in the wrong position causes a lot of strain.
I have been going to physio for my TMJ through private healthcare in the UK. I’ve had around 15 sessions so far and have been going for 6months. NOTHING HAS HELPED. I have told them consistently that I feel like my tongue is swollen, I can’t swallow right, my tongue is rubbing against my lower gum around my molar. They have all told me I’m being silly and I’m “over thinking it” Judging by the comments of fellow TMJ sufferers, it seems like we all have the same problem. I’m going to try this exercise as my tongue currently rests on the lower part of my mouth. P.s NHS & UK healthcare is crap now. Do not recommend
Hey love, I am super sorry to read about the struggles you are going through but I hope I can help at least a little 🙂 Mewing might be counterproductive in your case as it builds up tension that you actually want to avoid when dealing with TMJ. I have entire routines about it on my channel but always remember that this as well as physio will only treat the symptoms but not the cause of your TMJ which might be related to underlying stressors that you really have to figure out for it to properly improve 💕
That allegedly applied when it comes to the change of your bone structure 🙂 However, mewing past this time will help as a facial exercises to maintain a correct tongue posture to strengthen and sculpt your jaw and neckline 💖
Is it normal for beginner to feel little uneasy & pain..? I want to do mewing but it's really challenging & i find it difficult. I try to do mewing but I can't hold the position for long time not even for entire 5 minutes also even idk whether I'm doing it rightly or wrongly?! Help me Anastasia please ❤❤
Take it easy and increase step by step 😊 You can at the beginning start with holding it against the roof of your mouth for 20-30 sec at a time a couple of times daily and hold it for longer the more you progress, it's a journey, not a sprint 💖💖💖
my jaws are in a position in which my tongue touches both upper and lower jaw .... like there is less space in my mouth when its closed.... what should i do ....?
I'm beginner & whenever I do mewing i feel that there is a little space between roof & tongue at my right side only ... ? Is it normal Also i do feel pain ....?
The very reason i have chubby cheeks (buff buccinator and maseter) is that i have saliva that rests outside my teeth that my tongue cannot scoop which makes me use my cheeks to suck it in. Can you give me tips🥲
@@AllYouCanFace I talked to him about it and he said that I can do a little bit but should still wear my retainers, but my teeth end up being sore which isnt good, he doesnt know what mewing is too which makes it harder

It's still a controversial topic and while Dr. Mew said yes, a lot of others said no. Regardless of that it is still leathier to have a proper tongue posture and avoid mouth breathing which can eventually lead to a widening of the palett of the mouth 💖
Imagine thinking that you´ll change your skull structure by pushing tongue on the roof of your mouth :D Thats just straigh up naive and only one dubious theory from 50´s support that statement :D mewing is overrated. It surely helps mouthbreathers etc. but people turning into gigachads is just not happening :D
Didn't say that either and as previously mentioned, to this day mewing still remains a controversial topic. But there is no denying that the correct tongue posture and jaw alignment will help with improved breathing and a more toned jawline 💖

my tounge sits already on the top of my mouth, for me it is hard to sit the tounge at the bottom?
To keep it on the roof of your tongue should actually be your regular resting position 💕
