I remember getting sf2 for my birthday when i was in elementary school and playing it at my house with all my friends, that was good times, great picks so far looking forward to the rest of the top 20 snes countdown.
Yeah Street Fighter 2 was 16 MEGA POWER when it came out, which was way more than any Genesis game at the time. This made me angry even though I had a SNES and bought the game and enjoyed it. Then Sega started coming out with games that had 16 MEGA POWER like Streets of Rage 2. I was like "Yeah! Playfield is equal again, bitches!". But then what does Capcom do? They release Street Fighter 2 Turbo which has 20 MEGA POWER!!!! WTF how dare they! All they did was make Ryu blue, the bosses playable and make it go fast. Where is that extra 4 MEGA POWER going to in that game??? But then Capcom saw the light and released Super Street Fighter 2 on the Sega Genesis which was 40 MEGA POWER despite how awful it was. Game quality didn't matter though. Only MEGA POWER. And Sega won that battle... in the US.
Amazing video once again. My favourite console ever👍😎🇬🇧can’t disagree with you. As kids we were blown away with sound and graphics. The enjoyment watching this video and hearing your passion for the SNES is unprecedented 👍
So glad to see Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball make your list. My brother and I still think it's the best baseball game ever made and we spent hours playing it!
SNES was my favorite console :) But all these Top 10, Top 20, etc. never have a game called "Congo's Caper" which is such a good game more people need to know about........ Great video, looking forward to part 2
My mind was blown the first time I realized you could throw the bad guys against the wall at the top of the screen. First time I remember that particular move in a game
Glad you mentioned Alien3 definitely one of my all time favs for the console. The music set the pace and need for urgency. The graphics were really well done. Goes to show Lgn could publish good games.
Great video Billy. Glad to see you picked up Soulblazer, truly a gem. The other games in the Quintet Franchise are worth replaying aswell especially Terranigma. Wondering if its included in part 2 ^^
loved mega man x, i remember seeing it the mall when it first came out. i got it for my bday a few weeks later and fell in love with it. i never played any of the nes entries prior to this but the sixteen bit iteration of mega man became one of my favorite franchises of that era
“Who plays fighting games alone? That’s stupid!” That’d be me, growing up with no siblings/cousins and no friends that lived in my neighborhood meant playing fighters forever alone. Still love them despite that.
Anyone remember renting a game, not being able to finish it and not being able to rent it again for a while. Then when you DO rent it again your save file is *STILL* on the game!?!?! *HELL YEAHHHH!!!!*
I played so much SF2. When it went to console getting that game was my main focus at that point in my childhood. I destroyed all my friends and cousins with Ryu. Really impressive port as well. Looks great and plays very smooth. So much better than Sega. I remember with MK2 doing all the fatality, babality, friendships, etc that were in a Gamepro magazine I bought from Grocery Store. Also, Ken Griffey is the best Baseball game of all time.
Great vid, really enjoying these countdowns! DID SOMEONE SAY "HIDDEN GEMS"?! I never played Soul Blazer as a kid (I don't think it came out here in Europe... we missed out on a lot of cool stuff, particularly RPGs) but I played it through for the first time recently and it still holds up really well. The other games from the same developer (ActRaiser, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma) are fantastic, too -- you should check them out if you haven't already as if you liked Soul Blazer you'll likely dig them as well. I had exactly the same reaction to you when it came to Street Fighter II as a kid. I'd grown up with an Atari ST and thus had Amiga owners lording it over me for the incredible parallax scrolling in Shadow of the Beast for years by this point, but when Street Fighter II came out there was a scrolling effect that was even better than what Beast offered. I feel like I was the only one among my friends who cared about it (or even noticed it), however... a tradition I feel like I've kept going to this day with a variety of things. Looking forward to the top 10!
You KNOW that next video will have Mario RPG, Metroid, Link to the Past, Mario Kart, Mario World, Turtles in Time and Donkey Kong. Tell me I'm wrong, Billy. TELL ME I'M WRONG
20.) Alien 3 - I have actually never played this game before. 19.) Pilotwings - I have played this game a few times and my friend and I have completed this game to 100% but it was really joint effort. I need to play and complete this game myself before I consider it permanently retired. 18.) Soul Blazer - I had rented this game back in my high school days and I actually did beat this game, but I really need to go back and actually complete this sucker to 100%. When I did play it, I really enjoyed it so I look forward to going through it again and getting through everything. 17.) Batman Returns - Such an awesome beat'em up game by Konami. You needed to beat it on hard mode to get the true ending of the game, but I have completed and retired this game for good because I had completed it when I was a teenager. 16.) Mega Man X - This is one of the few snes games I owned as a kid and this game has been beaten/completed and permanently retired. It is an enjoyable experience from beginning to end and definitely one of the best entries in the mega man X franchise. 15.) Mortal Kombat II - I never owned this game but I played it quite extensively because I loaned out one of my games in order to play this one and even though I was never really good at it. I still got my enjoyment out of it. 14.) Street Fighter II - I prefer super street fighter II over the other entries for the snes, but I remember playing this game for the first time and being really excited for it because I was always too afraid to play it at the arcade. 13.) Joe & Mac - Definitely one of the better action platformers for the snes and a game that I use to rent a lot back in the day. I did find the game got super hard by the end of it, but I think I did beat this game once back in the day. 12.) Super Empire Strikes Back - A snes game that I never had the opportunity to play before. 11.) Ken Griffey Jr Presents Major League Baseball - The only baseball game that I actually enjoyed playing. I played this game so much that one time I tried to get through a full 152 game season over the summer, but I couldn't do it. A great/unique/interesting list Billy and I look forward to seeing your choices from 10 to number 1.
Oh man ,I love the Super Nes,the first game I fell in love was Super Mario World and Home alone 2 ,and Super Street Fighter 2,then later Tmnt VI and Moral kombat No blood version,Mortal kombat 2 with blood finally ,Donkey Kong country and Animaniacs and crappy looneytunes games, ahhh!!! real Monsters ,Scooby-doo mysteries,TinyToon adventures Buster's busts loose,Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle ,Adventures of Batman and Robin,Disney's Aladdin ,Bonkers, goof troop,Lion king ,The Final fight trilogy and Batman returns,Link to the past ,That's a really good game lol,Mario RPG
Oh man, love Ken Griffey Jr's MLB. Probably my most played game on the SNES, i tried playing a whole 162 games season, but my cousin erased my data at 154 games😭. Thanks for the memories
The older I get, the more I realize that the SNES was truly the best console of my childhood, before the PlayStation. I don't have an SNES, but I've turned my Wii into a retro gaming power house, including my phone by using a wireless controller.
Looking good so far ;) Lots of memories with the first Mortal Kombat games, but...I was a sega kid =D so I play them on the Mega Drive. I need to play Soul Blazer.
Love Soul Blazer! Currently playing trough that game again. :) You might like Brainlords as well if you like it, it is also an action "RPG" from enix. It also has great music. :) Great list! Looking forward to part 2.
I actually played the hell out of KGJ's Homerun Derby. Not sure I'd put it in my top 20 but it was definitely awesome. I think I'd have to put Mega Man X and Street Fighter 2 in my top 10, probably top 10 off all time too, love those games.
Got my n64 the year they came out for Xmas... my first game my dad rented me was pilotwings 64.... I was not as stoked as you were for pilotwings hahahaha
Hey man you and Jay should do a video per system of the games you had as a child since you say nostalgia plays a big role in your favorite games. It would be cool to know which ones you had and compare with what the rest of us had I am specially interested in the super nintendo ones. I remember having Megaman X, Battletoads in Battlemaniacs (Damn hard game I could never beat it), Top Gear, plus a bunch of others that I suppose I didn´t like that much since my parents bought me the games as gifts they were hit or miss. I had like 15 total I believe but those are the ones that came to mind.
Hmmm.....Top 20 would be rough, but I could definitely bust out a Top 10 fav. SNES games. SNES is my 2nd most loved console behind NES too. Let's see: Final Fantasy IV, Super Metroid, Act Raiser, Street Fighter II/Turbo, Super Castlevania IV, Final Fight, Demon's Crest, Knights of the Round, MK1/or MK2, and I guess a tossup between Breath of Fire and Final Fantasy VI.
I want a fighting game where Billy and Jay wrestle in their underwear and Melvor is in the background eating black licorice!!!! You guys are rockstars!!!
Super Empire Strikes back is insanely difficult even on the easiest setting. I still can't get off Hoth as I'm stuck as Han fighting some mechanized space craft.
Was hoping you'd make this snes list. Great picks. MK 2 was my personal favorite for the system. That and super mario all stars. Many weeknights stayin up past my bedtime to bicycle kick the shit outta my older brother on the game lol
it's weird to see more and more the retrogaming youtubers that make it bigger are fans of beat em ups and not rpgs, the snes to me is the beginning of my love for rpgs and when i started disliking beat em ups as much. beat em ups were just the same thing with better graphics, snes started expanding stories in games unlike any other system, battle systems started getting a little better, worlds got way larger and more detailed. still a damn good list though. impossible to make a list on this system to please everyone
Did you ever figure out what was wrong with your copy of Ken Griffy Jr. on snes? I remember you tried in a live stream to play with Chris and it kept shutting off.
Donkey Kong Country and Aladdin where my all favorite SNES games, also i played the Japanese Super Tetris 3 so much back in the day. Also agree with the list lot of cool games like Mortal Kombat. LOL on Chris, i then imagine his mom STOP PLAYING MK, NOW GO CLEAN YOUR GUNS!!
SNES will always be my favorite. 16-bit & character sprites were always top notch on most of the entire library.
Loving these frequent countdown vids! I appreciate all the hard work I know you guys put into these! Keep it up 👊🏻
Love the more frequent videos. You guys are legends.
I dont haha. I feel like its oversaturation. But youtube punishes you if you dont now. But thanks for watching
Oversaturation when it comes to you chodes isn’t a bad thing...
I really appreciate you recalling your fond memories with these games, Billy. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
I remember getting sf2 for my birthday when i was in elementary school and playing it at my house with all my friends, that was good times, great picks so far looking forward to the rest of the top 20 snes countdown.

Would you say Street Fighter 2 is a hidden gem?
AlphaOmegaSin Bob Cornhole told me it is a hidden gem.
Street Fighter 2 and Sonic 2 are both hidden gems
Asssssss
Game Sack You mean Coin Collector the Hedgehog?
Love Pilot Wings! Brings back so many memories with my brother and cousins. Still watching again!
Where would you rank Fortnite on your SNES list? It is one of the best hidden gems on the system
I like it buts so hard. Its the dark souls of shitty games
Adderal has me commenting without anything to say.
SNES was my favorite console :) But all these Top 10, Top 20, etc. never have a game called "Congo's Caper" which is such a good game more people need to know about........ Great video, looking forward to part 2
I am so happy Joe and Mac is getting some love! I was beginning to think I was the only person who played it!
Your gaming memories with your cousin sure do make me reminisce of mine with my cousin. Only difference was we played N64. Good times....
Hearing you talk about the ken Griffey Jr game reminds me of me and my bother having to play blitz on the n65 every year around thanksgiving
That’s a really good game, Billy Edition! Hot and new!!
Batman Returns on the SNES was awesome.
skabcat242 snap
My mind was blown the first time I realized you could throw the bad guys against the wall at the top of the screen. First time I remember that particular move in a game
Glad you mentioned Alien3 definitely one of my all time favs for the console. The music set the pace and need for urgency. The graphics were really well done. Goes to show Lgn could publish good games.

loving all the extra content billy. great 11 to 20 :)
loved mega man x, i remember seeing it the mall when it first came out. i got it for my bday a few weeks later and fell in love with it. i never played any of the nes entries prior to this but the sixteen bit iteration of mega man became one of my favorite franchises of that era
Died at "Chris and I immediately after dinner run into the bedroom" 😂😂😂
Ken Griffey was one of the few games I had on the SNES as a youth and I played way too many hours of it. It was a great game for sure.
Dude you should do your top 20 Atari 2600 games next. These lists are amazing.
I can't believe you put Batman ahead of Final Fight... that is my go to game for the system. Hope to see Super Adventure Island on the next list too.
We need a top 5 video for fights between Billy and Chris like Jay and his brothers did.
Ken Griffey Jr was one of my favorite baseball games on the snes too! And actually one of my favorite games on the snes in general.
“Who plays fighting games alone? That’s stupid!” That’d be me, growing up with no siblings/cousins and no friends that lived in my neighborhood meant playing fighters forever alone. Still love them despite that.
Loved the vvideo. Thanks. Keep them coming. Griffey was one of my all time favorite baseball games.
i absolutely loved MK 2 and still do!! The snes version was the best home version and it IMO was the best snes fighter out there
This video inspired me to get Pilot Wings, wow it is a lot of fun! Thanks Billy!
Yes, finally someone mentioned Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball love that game still to this day.
Anyone remember renting a game, not being able to finish it and not being able to rent it again for a while. Then when you DO rent it again your save file is *STILL* on the game!?!?! *HELL YEAHHHH!!!!*
his grandparents were smart. buying the new video game console is a great way to get your grandkids to come visit you.
here here on the ken griffey game, that was my favorite baseball game on snes as well
I played so much SF2. When it went to console getting that game was my main focus at that point in my childhood. I destroyed all my friends and cousins with Ryu. Really impressive port as well. Your grandparents sounds amazing. Smart to bait you kids over with the Super Nintendo.
10:09 best explanation of Parallax Scrolling ever
I was just watching that’s the way game playing go I been watching all those retro game chasers videos 😌
You KNOW that next video will have Mario RPG, Metroid, Link to the Past, Mario Kart, Mario World, Turtles in Time and Donkey Kong. Tell me I'm wrong, Billy. TELL ME I'M WRONG
Thanks Billy Chaser for another stellar vid!

ayyyy ken griffey jr. i played that so much with a friend of mine, easily one of my favorites. right up there with super punch out.
I definitely exploded while watching this. Exploded all over the screen 😫

Do the top 10 game stores you have been to over your whole span as a Game Chaser/Chode.
Josh A
#1 Game Room Trading Post. Sucks that it's closed for good =(
Was the Soul Blazer footage shown taken from an emulator? Those last sound effects sounded strange to me.
Great vid! Soul Blazer is a gem
William these videos rock dude
Hmmm.....Top 20 would be rough, but I could definitely bust out a Top 10 fav. SNES games. SNES is my 2nd most loved console behind NES too.

Awesome video!
I like that your list has some different games that don't show up on top lists
Billy have you ever seen the RUclips channel SNESdrunk? EXCELLENT content and he loves Ken Griffey Jr as much as you!
I want a fighting game where Billy and Jay wrestle in their underwear and Melvor is in the background eating black licorice!!!! You guys are rockstars!!!
What does the "V" tattoo stand for? The lizard alien 1980's series?
Super Empire Strikes back is insanely difficult even on the easiest setting. I still can't get off Hoth as I'm stuck as Han fighting some mechanized space craft.
Believe it or not, there was a day when kids played video games AND did stuff outside. You can do both.
Oh my my
Where can I find part 2 ?
Great list!
Was hoping you'd make this snes list. Great picks. MK 2 was my personal favorite for the system. That and super mario all stars. Many weeknights stayin up past my bedtime to bicycle kick the shit outta my older brother on the game lol
My favorite console of all time! And Mega Man X is one of my favorite games of all time!
Billy is funny as hell
These videos are good. But, I'd be lying if I said I am always a bit disappointed when it's not a game chasing episode.
"Even more Super Mega Power"- Billy
What is the V tattoo stand for on your arm?
All amazing games
ah the snes...favorite console of all time
Remember that one guy in Ken Griffey's game. His name was like B. Beans or Can of Beans or something. lol You NEVER picked him in homerun derby mode!
11:26 lmao...comedic gold
Damn good list, not a game there I don’t like, but only beaten four 😩
it's weird to see more and more the retrogaming youtubers that make it bigger are fans of beat em ups and not rpgs, the snes to me is the beginning of my love for rpgs and when i started disliking beat em ups as much. beat em ups were just the same thing with better graphics, snes started expanding stories in games unlike any other system, battle systems started getting a little better, worlds got way larger and more detailed. still a damn good list though. impossible to make a list on this system to please everyone

It's my snes. Does it with other games
This is a HUGE shot in the dark. I think the #1 game on his list will be super mario world and #2 is going to be zelda a link to the past
That's a really good game!
nice, i expect, super mario world, turtles in time and hopefully Actraiser in the top 10
Someone help me out: could you charge an attack in Joe and Mac to throw a bigger version of your weapon or am I remembering wrong?
Feels more like a list of the only 20 games he has played.
I pLaYs MoRe GaMeZ tHeN tHe gUy In ViDeoOoo
Not a lot of games I would have included in a top 20. Top 50, maybe. Just goes to show how great the SNES still is.
Thoughts on the new Mega-man game? I'm excited
Made me remember memories i didnt even know existed in my brain ..... wow
Were you remixing “At the Copa...Copacabana” at the start? 😃
No zelda link to the past. No Fzero no super punchout. Wtf bro
Great list! (TLOZ A Link to the Past #1)
