Batman Forever for SNES. I called Willow Video every week for months, asking when they would be getting it, or when it would be returned. And I finally got it, and I couldn't even convince myself it was horrible. I rented it again. I tried to like it. That game was balls.
We actually have one here in the UK near us they also hire out vhs players, It is pure 100 percent nostalga when you walk in got movie posters from the 80s and 90's big ass crt tvs showing trailers for movies. It seems to be really popular always busy in there.
I'll open for one CED, and VCD movies, so I don't have to put up a sign that says please be kind, and rewind. ;-) Seriously though I was out thrifting today at a GoodWill, and along with finding an Onkyo Dolby Digital 7.1 channel HDMI/component/composite/optical video switcher/decoder for $38 USD I picked up a VHS rewinder for $2 USD, and man does that bring back so many damn memories of renting movies.
I know I don't speak for everyone, especially patreons, but I've been a fan for years & these top 10 lists are great! Yall have been killing it lately.
Been watching you guys since episode 3 of season 1 and I'm so god damn glad you're still making videos and just getting more and more popular. You certainly deserve it!
I have fond memories Ivan Stewart's Off-road on NES. Me & my older brother use to play it before church on Sundays & I would try to block all the other trucks so he could win. Lol Good memories man. Great video yall!
Oh man, my dad would often be the one to pick out our games for us, and he also had a bad memory. He kept coming home with Legacy of the Wizard, which isn't terrible but we never knew what the hell we were supposed to do in that game!
I like how you said you understand some fans' frustrations, and promised more content that everyone wants. Unlike a certain mega franchise run into the ground by people shitting on their fans...
Billy, I’m loving the top 5/10/20 videos. You have great camera presence, you’re super knowledgeable, and they are well edited and executed. Keep up the great work! Ps I got an email and an iPhone notification 👍😉
You guys do awesome with Green Screen effects but I am actually enjoying your collection backdrop more for these types of videos. It cuts down on editing times as well. Hopefully this is the new back drop going forward for Top 5 Fridays
This video has been out for 1 hour and you have already managed to write 4 comments on it, no sir, YOU fucking suck! "time to unsubb folk" Bitch if you dont like it leave, why do you have to try and persuade others to join you in leaving? If you dont enjoy this FREE CONTENT then you can get the fuck out anytime you want. God what a miserable life you must have doing shit like this on a friday night, ignorant piece of shit.
I forgot about the Rocketeer! It is for sure my #1 worst rental. I remember I couldn’t get past the plane stage at the very beginning so I couldn’t even play as The Rocketeer. So frustrating.
My worst rental story is that I went up to gmas house as a kid (where there's no chance of having another kid to play with) and I rented goof troop. now that game is great, but it was very sad because i really WANTED someone else to play with.
Suzuka 8 hours(snes), Fantasia(gen), The Rocketeer(snes), Virtual Bart(snes), Castlevania (n64). So many of us were touched inappropriately by The Rocketeer as children..
So the first ever rental I ever picked up was Rygar, which was an awesome weekend. So I was so ready for the next weekend to rent something new. I went into the store and looked for the coolest looking box art I could find. There it was sitting in all it's glory. The green faced monster on the box was so awesome I excitedly grabbed it and took it to the counter. Had to spend all weekend with Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Worst weekend ever.
Funny Super Offroad is on your list. That and Super Sprint were our favorite rentals. It was one of the few good multiplayers, by which I mean four-player, it had Graphics that were very very close to the arcade, and it didn't do split screen it put it all on one. Less of a big deal now but back then having a 20 inch CRT was an amazing thing. Split screen games like Mario Kart were off and rage-inducing and prone to fights with friends. You would have a tiny window, and there would be the whole big deal about promising to not look at other peoples screens. With the Sprint and off-road games it didn't matter, and it included the ability to get your initials up on a scoreboard as well as having upgrade abilities and a decent variety of maps. So that game is probably the only game that we really gave our tap a workout on
I like your type Y videos but they have a lot of heart and feeling behind them and brings me back to when I was a kid to my grow up in the 90s in the 80s late 80s so keep doing them
My choice easily goes to WCW Backstage Assault. Even with some of the other bad rentals we got, we at least kept playing them until it was time to return the game to the video store. My brother and I played one match of Backstage Assault before taking the game out of our PS1, putting it back in it's case, putting the case on top of the TV and leaving it there until it was time to return it. I don't think my mom was very happy with wasting her $5 that time.
Oh dude I used to get my mom to pick up tmnt 2 arcade for nes every single weekend when I was 6 and one weekend the store didn't have it...so she got me Harlem Globetrotters....I wanted to die...
Between my brothers and I we rotated between Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter when we used to rent on Fridays. Zombies ate my Neighbors was another one too.
Honestly.... Tetris was a rental nightmare for me. This was before it was popular. I saw explosions over weird looking buildings, so I rented it. I was used to games like super mario, now I'm supposed to put a puzzle together?
Going to the store to get Atari games from about '82-'85 was always a crap shoot. Games were really cheap and usually on clearance, and seven out of ten times you would get home and play the game just a few times. That was the problem with the Atari. The number of games we actually replayed is relatively small.
I rented Superman 64, the video store was super nice and let me take it back and pick out something else lol I took it back like maybe an hour after I rented it. All I know is I only played it for like 15 minutes before I realized that the game was total garbage. As far as rental stores coming back... I wish, but I don't see them being popular enough to do it.
Your Top lists are actually really well made and I always love to hear gaming stories from the 80's and 90's. You guys seem to have a lot of fun (and not so fun) memories and you also seem to remember them really well. :) Keep up the good work! I've been watching the Game Chasers since Season 1 aired in 2010 and you guys were one of the biggest reasons I started to collect video games more seriously. Still, eight years later the best thing in this hobby is the thrill of the hunt so to speak, Ebay doesn't get you the satisfaction that finding the games out in the wild does. :) Too bad, that it's so rare to find retro from flea markets these days, even stuff like PS1 and n64, at least here in Finland. Anyways, best regards to whole Chasers crew and especially the OG crew (Billy, Jay, Melvor, Dodongo) Greetings from Finland
I rented Ikari Warriors 2 at our local video store. It was so hard that I ended up taking it back and exchanging it for another game. The person working there said I wasn't the first to return it for another game.
Mine is probably the same as at least a few people, Superman 64. I remember being so stoked when blockbuster finally had a copy, then could barely pass the damn ring part before quitting in frustration.
My friends and I played the heck out of Super Off Road on the NES with the 4 Score! But as far as worst rentals Mario is Missing on SNES was the worst I rented. I was so excited to play a game as Luigi, boy was I disappointed.
I can`t recall any real stinkers. I am the youngest of my siblings, with the closest brother being 6 years older. Like Chris I got my pick once in awhile. But would always get my bros opinion just to be sure. Some of my favorites were Turtles 3 & 4, Megaman 2 & X4 and Batman Return of Joker. I can so vividly remember all the amazing box art still on that wired shelving. Imagine this 5 year old Chode Nugget staring up at a turtles 3 or 4 box for the 1st time. For something like that, we can bypass big bros approval.
I rented "Mario is missing" for snes and wasted an entire weekend trying to figure out what to do...for some reason I rented it again and same result..
I gotta be honest as a kid maybe I wasn't picky, but I loved every game I could get my hands on. Also my Aunt had Bible Adventures and I loved that as well. I just remember loving anything video games I would even play those tiger electronics games for hours.
Oh my god, as a kid back in the late '80s, I had a number of weekends ruined by renting a NES game that ended up sucking. Platoon, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Star Wars...ugh.
Worst video game rentals I ever had and stuck with for an entire weekend were:1. Mario's Time Machine for SNES.2. Street Fighter 2010 (though I beat the game, not worth the frustration.)3. Predator4. Heavy Shreddin'5. Bart's Nightmare for SNES. (Has its moments but not overall fun.)
Worst game I ever rented as a kid, and there were some duds, was easily Defenders of Dynatron City. I always tried to get the most out of any game I rented as a kid, no matter how "meh" or wonky it was. I always tried my best to beat them if I could. But this was one game I literally stopped playing after an hour, maybe less.
I really enjoy these top 5's and 10's episodes, and now I look forward to them now.Gives you more of a reason to play all your games.Whats your top favorite skateboarding and surfing games for the nes, snes, sega.
You mentioned a nostalgia about bad games. I rented Resident Evil Survivor back in the day and hated it. Now I own a copy and tend to play it on occasion. It’s still bad but I enjoy it and every time I pop it in I remember that very first time I played it every time.
My worst rental would be either A boy and his blob or Blues Brothers, both for the NES. The first one was extremely hard for a kid as a i was, and Blues Brothers is plain crap. And i rented a ton of crap back in the day such as Tom & Jerry, Crash Dummies or Donkey Kong Jr Math. Cheers from Spain.
I too played the NES version of 'The Rocketeer', and it was rather fun. I wanted to try the SNES version but never got around to it. Now that I've seen some gameplay footage I see that I really wasn't missing anything. I'm now content with occasionally watching the movie on DVD. - Thanks for the review and the memories.
Pretty sure my worst rental was a SNES game that had both baseball and football on it. I didn't even like sports really, but I'd rented all the best games from our local little video store so many times that I just wanted to switch it up a bit. Big mistake, I should've just rented TMNT or Mario Kart again. My brother was a jerk and ruined the game by figuring out how to get hit by every pitch.
I wish we still had to rent movies and games my kid plays on my emulator and usually quits the second it gets hard and goes to another game. Back in my day you had to save up your $3.99 to rent the game for 5 days. Or worse you used up all your birthday money on a game that sucked
Used to rent Genesis and N64 games almost every weekend from Blockbuster back in the day. My top 5 worst rentals would probably be: Cliffhanger (Genesis) The Lion King (Genesis) (I hated this game so much when I was a kid) Superman (N64) Glover (N64) Paperboy (N64)
Nothing ruined your weekend back then like renting a game that sucked. Meant you were stuck with that game ALL weekend...
geez ain't that the truth. i still hate american gladiators bc of that lol
Unless that game was Total Recall....
Super NOT tired of the top 5 lists, I’m down for as many as ya want to throw our way!
same here
You already know this one Billy, it was Bubsy 3D. Because for two days that game haunted my house and my Playstation....the horror lives on
AlphaOmegaSin Whats up Alpha!
I remember renting this back when I was like 7 or 8
AlphaOmegaSin game the fook on alpha!!!
Bubsy isn't that bad, well I guess Bubsy 3D is. I wish I was Bubsy.
I thought the original Bubsy on Genesis was awful, so I never had any interest in 3-D, thankfully.
I remember getting Deadly Towers. The cover looked great. But when I got home. Oh man
Super Off Road is a Good GAME!
it's a really good game
Batman Forever for SNES. I called Willow Video every week for months, asking when they would be getting it, or when it would be returned. And I finally got it, and I couldn't even convince myself it was horrible. I rented it again. I tried to like it. That game was balls.
Billy, I'm not worried about anything you guys do. You guys keep getting better and and better like aged Mountain Dew.
Dodongo's top 5 40oz malt liquors next video?
Not tired of these top videos!!!! Keep ‘em comin’
Every Friday I would hope
Oh it's Friday niiiiiighttt
I'm going to open my own video store. All vhs.
I'll definitely rent some Video Home System cassettes from you
We actually have one here in the UK near us they also hire out vhs players, It is pure 100 percent nostalga when you walk in got movie posters from the 80s and 90's big ass crt tvs showing trailers for movies. It seems to be really popular always busy in there.
I got laserdisc. people need to freeze frame the roger rabbit movie for reasons.
I'll open for one CED, and VCD movies, so I don't have to put up a sign that says please be kind, and rewind. ;-)
Seriously though I was out thrifting today at a GoodWill, and along with finding an Onkyo Dolby Digital 7.1 channel HDMI/component/composite/optical video switcher/decoder for $38 USD I picked up a VHS rewinder for $2 USD, and man does that bring back so many damn memories of renting movies.
Woah it's the supervillain of the internet
I figured this would be 5 games Chris picked that sucked ass list😑
Haha
I mean you ain't wrong...
LOL!!
Bible Adventures Chris!? C'mon bro...
Worst Top 5 Friday ever.
He's too hyper, tripping over his words...needs to slow his roll.
Yeah and it's all Nintendo...no diversity
I know I don't speak for everyone, especially patreons, but I've been a fan for years & these top 10 lists are great! Yall have been killing it lately.
Been watching you guys since episode 3 of season 1 and I'm so god damn glad you're still making videos and just getting more and more popular. You certainly deserve it!
Haha, I liked Rocketeer on SNES but it was one of the first SNES games I rented and thought it looked awesome. Doesn't look like it holds up.
John Riggs: RIGG'd Games meeting you at retrogamecon bro
Top 5 Friday’s are the best to watch after a long day at work. Thanks.
I have fond memories Ivan Stewart's Off-road on NES. Me & my older brother use to play it before church on Sundays & I would try to block all the other trucks so he could win. Lol Good memories man. Great video yall!
Lovin your game room set up and how your displaying your vhs collection, very nice Billy...
Billy, it doesn't matter what you guys put out. I enjoy watching it all. Was also a pleasure to meet you at Astronomicon back in February.😊
Billy and Jay you've both inspired me to start collecting all the games and consoles I played as a kid thanks guys keep it up.
people are getting tired of top lists? eff em, keep the lists and your personal experiences behind them coming.
greg wishart yes I love these types of videos
Oh man, my dad would often be the one to pick out our games for us, and he also had a bad memory. He kept coming home with Legacy of the Wizard, which isn't terrible but we never knew what the hell we were supposed to do in that game!
TOYCHASERS!!! and don't mind the top tens! like hearing you guys's lists! :-D
I like how you said you understand some fans' frustrations, and promised more content that everyone wants.
Unlike a certain mega franchise run into the ground by people shitting on their fans...
I enjoy every video you guys upload. Its genuine and fun. And the top something videos on this channel is the best one’s on youtube 🤷🏼♂️ keep it up
Billy, I’m loving the top 5/10/20 videos.
Hopefully this is the new back drop going forward for Top 5 Fridays
i'd love rental stores to come back. Go out every friday to get a nice harddisk full of internet, just enough for the weekend..
My favorite rental store was Rygar. I try not to think about all the bad games I rented as a kid...
Day of the Triffids on VHS! Fantastic! One of my favorite books.
these top lists are great!
I like home alone on the Snes but I think I heard the Genesis one is better!
This opening song just doesn't get old
Top whatever weekly show with Billy. Count me in.
I forgot about the Rocketeer! It is for sure my #1 worst rental. I remember I couldn’t get past the plane stage at the very beginning so I couldn’t even play as The Rocketeer. So frustrating.
Lode Runner 3D for N64. I was 7 and not about it.
Best: Bomberman: Second Attack!
My worst rental story is that I went up to gmas house as a kid (where there's no chance of having another kid to play with) and I rented goof troop. now that game is great, but it was very sad because i really WANTED someone else to play with.
So true about game violence even back then. My friends mom in the early 90's thought that racing games were violent... eeeeshhh
Suzuka 8 hours(snes), Fantasia(gen), The Rocketeer(snes), Virtual Bart(snes), Castlevania (n64). So many of us were touched inappropriately by The Rocketeer as children..
First time seeing the 'theme song'... I got one word for it: AMAZEBALLS!?!?!
Screw that haters. I just enjoy the content as it comes. It’s always a good break at work, and sexy at night before bed.
Funny Super Offroad is on your list. That and Super Sprint were our favorite rentals.

So that game is probably the only game that we really gave our tap a workout on
Worst rental was The Wizard of Oz for the SNES. It was so bad I went to mom and cried until we drove back to the rental store and got a new game.
I like your type Y videos but they have a lot of heart and feeling behind them and brings me back to when I was a kid to my grow up in the 90s in the 80s late 80s so keep doing them
I could sit here with my bro's and, watch a brand new videooooeeooo!!!
My choice easily goes to WCW Backstage Assault. Even with some of the other bad rentals we got, we at least kept playing them until it was time to return the game to the video store. Ha. I watched that "James and Mike Monday" where they played Rocketeer. That's funny you got to see them suffer too.
Super off road is the most Chris game I can think of, no wonder he picked it
I feel your pain with X-men. We bought the game, and had to live with it. My mom wasn't about to buy us another game
Gotta agree with the others on here I love the list videos, when I see a new video from you guys I'm like "Hell yeah!". Keep them coming.
Going to the store to get Atari games from about '82-'85 was always a crap shoot. Games were really cheap and usually on clearance, and seven out of ten times you would get home and play the game just a few times. That was the problem with the Atari. Menace Beach is one Color Dreams games Id like to get. Dont know why, it just interests me.

Greetings from Finland
I remember renting superman for n64. Took it home played for about 5 minutes and brought it bacl
For me it was Jaws on the NES. I didn't understand how to play it at the time and it just seemed boring.
Superman 64 nuff said.
I enjoy your top list. Its alot more genuine than some other channels
I'm not tired of lists. More is better.
I can honestly say i don't ever remember renting a game that sucked. But I do remember one time staying with my cousin and he rented a few lame ones.
Rambo on NES was my worst mistake renting a game ruined my whole weekend. So bad that game..
I once rented both Batman forever, AND judge dredd both for SNES at the same time. That was a bad weekend.
Hey Billy, just want to say your videos have come a long way. Your presentation and screen presence have gotten really good! Cheers.
Blues Brothers 😂😂😂
8:56 "this fool."
I lol'd
That room looks so rad.
I rented Milon's Secret Castle once...that was a rough weekend...
keep doing the top 5's, i need more nostalgia.
For me it was renting Mario's Missing on the NES. At the time I thought it was gonna be a good game...I was wrong. Yet I did complete it.
My most hated rental as kid that, I can remember, is Faxanadu.
Last 10 minutes of work need time to kill THANK YOU
slacker!
Hijynx87 just neglect the other 11 hours and 50 minutes of my work today nah just kidding i am a slacker and I don’t care 😂
Love these top five Friday videos!
Or worse you used up all your birthday money on a game that sucked
lawnmower man, hook, wizard of oz, bad dudes
Top 5 other members singing the 'theme song's that would be awesome , would love to see jay and Melvor burst out this tune
Pit fighter for the snes was my worst rental. I was so depressed.
I rented "Where's Waldo" on the NES once... Worst weekend ever!!!
Superman 64... Even at a young age we knew it was bad and got maybe 24 seconds of entertainment from it.
Used to rent Genesis and N64 games almost every weekend from Blockbuster back in the day.
My top 5 worst rentals would probably be:
Cliffhanger (Genesis)
The Lion King (Genesis) (I hated this game so much when I was a kid)
Superman (N64)
Glover (N64)
Paperboy (N64)
God damn what a list
When me and my bro were kids we took turns renting a game. He always picked annoying stuff like Brett Hull Hockey.
RetroR0bbie
Lol, he did it to troll you, dude..
Greatest theme song ever.
My word rental was the n64 with Mario 64 why was it bad because I had to return it back to blockbuster 😭
