Absolute cinema. This is a wonderful sharing of their work, I am learning so much. It's so cool seeing their personal history and how their animation evolves over time.
Man your videos for Mitsuo Iso and Shinya Ohira are excellent. And more importantly, the one for Richard William is exceptionnel. I really hope to see other edits like those.
It never fails to blow my mind; to think that all of the most awesome shots and sequences in all of the animation that I've ever seen were done by a handful of dudes across many decades.
What a wonderful video again, on an incredibly fantastic artist And I heard and believe that he still has one of the strongest passion for animation and movement, just seeing him on twitter being so enthusiastic about some modern/young animator's work, and in general about the new generation of animators from around the world is beautiful to me And thank you for sharing (and presenting so nicely) your sources !
Absolutely fucking beautiful and educational. Sometimes you don't realize how much of an influence on your taste a person is until you see all their work brought together like this. Absolutely incredible, and great work, please do more of these
You can see how the people who made these animations immensely love their work. Also, the way all these animations are older and how they bring more life because of the work done on them, nowadays people can just put editing to make something look aesthetic. Props to Ohira for still making animation on paper, it is time-consuming work.
Not a huge fan of all he's done, but I have a deep respect for him. He truly is a one of a kind. His sequence on The Boy and the Heron was phenomenal !
I suggest you to put more biographical infos (I feel they are really sparse as of now) with animation cuts in chronological order in this kind of videos. This is an awesome format and I know it takes a lot of editing and research to put everything together. Keep up the good work ❤
A bit surprised that there was no mention his early career where he was deeply influenced by Yoshinori Kanada and the Kanada/"Masami Obari" style. He drew lots of art for mecha series like Tobikage, Machine Robo, Transformers, Bismarck etc, before transitioning to the realist Ghibli animator of today.
i adore these. the editing is gorgeous, and it's the kind of love letter to these animators i think they deserve.
For the love of God, please make more of these. The editing is absolutely superb and sends so many chills down my spine.

Putting a spotlight on these masters that often get overseen. Amazing work as always.
This is a lot more niche than the sakuga edits, but I really hope it will become similarly populár, it's so fascinating!
Its like a moving magazine...
OH SO HE WAS THE ONE BEHIND PLUTO'S INCREDIBLY SMOOTH ANIMATION FIGHTS, THANK YOU !!!
The editing on this "Animation Insight" are some top level stuff.

This is so cool
it's such a damning statement about the anime industry that even someone as incredible as Ohira left it due to how impossible it is to live off of.

The wind rises was the first non-action animated movie that I sat through without skipping parts. Its truly a masterpiece.
I've only done that with Studio Ghibli movies but they certainly have a lot of action scenes sprinkled throughout
