►WHAT IS SAKUGA? // WHAT IS A SAKUGA MAD
Sakuga (作画) literally means drawing in Japanese. But Sakuga also means "artistically impressive animation".
MAD stands for Music Anime Douga (Douga means video in Japanese). It's the same as an AMV. Sakuga MADs are compilations of great animation made to collect, celebrate and appreciate the work of animators.

It's been so long that i forgot this came out during quarantine.
Hobbes, please dont ever stop making these. They are perfection, so many new anime titles get added to my must watch and dope tunes to just chill or be productive to. It just works so well. Keeping me sane in these crazy times while everyone gets to stay home and I have to carry on working like a fool.

って言うギリギリの演出表現の匙加減で描ける所だと思う、どの辺がギリギリなのか(或いは何処までリアルに描写するか/派手に演出するか)は作品によっても微妙に違うけど
その感覚を各アニメーターが監督、演出担当と共有して(手描きで！)微調整できるっていう所がもうね。

I always see water animation/fluid animation as a measuring system for how well animated a show is
I've been trying my hand at animation for a few months now, and I've been trying to wrap my head around animating FX (specifically water at the moment) and lo and behold, I find your channel. OMG so good for reference!! you've got EVERYTHING here lol thank you! Tutorials are great, but they tend to overexplain everything. just needed to watch things in action and this is all perfect for that.
As a man that draws mangas, your music choices + the clips you choose are a true inspiration, it helps me figuring how a fight works, how dynamics works, how to create impactful backgrounds, scenes... I know people will tell me that I have to thank every single animator I take inspiration from then, and I'll do it. Your videos are a new aesthetic and also a way to make everyone discover hidden gems inside animes or just new animes, which is also super great !
