You make so many things that my granny and my mom have made! I grew up on all this good cooking. I try and cook like that sometimes for my kids. They love sweet tea, fried okra, and fried squash - all the good stuff:)

Hi Ms. Brenda do you use all purpose flour? I did and I also added 2 teaspoons of double acting baking powder and the end result was pound cake all over the bottom of the stove which was a first for me. I had never used regular flour before and someone told me that I had to use baking powder. I will never use it again and if I have too I will just use cake flour and call it a day, but your cake looks good I will send a picture of my next pound cake.

My cake comes out dense everytime what am I doing wrong ?
Hi Ms Megan. Mine sometimes comes out dense as well. I'm thinking we are mixing the batter too much. My sister is our family's baker. She says the butter and sugar has to be creamed for 25 to 30 mins. After all the other ingredients are added she says not to mix the batter too much.
Another tip: Make sure you are using cake flour or to sift your flour. That does make a difference. I hope these tips helps you out some. Have a Blessed day!!
