It's breaking my heart as I watch this. Heaven got 2 more angels when first Jerry, then a short time later, Jeanne passed away this year. I'm so grateful for the hilarious videos she gave us. My sympathy goes out to family, friends, and all who loved this amazing woman and her sweet husband.
I stopped laughing when I read your comment. I had no idea….loved her comedy…🥺
@@linato1855 I was so shocked when I found out myself. She had the most amazing sense of humor. There's really nothing online anywhere what the cause of death was for either of them although I read something about Jerry having a serious illness. I was always excited when she had a new video up.
@@survivrs I'm so sad now
@@cindydmysonslifemattered1937 Yeah, after you've watched her for a few years, some of those videos many times over, just laughing as you can picture exactly what she is saying, and then find out they died approx. 2 months apart from each other. For them, it doesn't get much easier-as in not grieving for months or years without that beloved spouse. While it sounds stupid, you hear how people died from a "broken heart", and this might have put that into perspective. I truly believe that they loved each other so much, no matter how many times she made fun of him, he knew it was all meant in fun. It hurts when it comes at such a time that you don't even know about it right away much less expect it. I cried when I saw it in print, hoping it was a cruel joke, but headline after headline said the same thing, so whether you want to believe it or not, you have to. At least we have a lot of funny videos to keep their memories alive. I hope neither of them suffered prior to their deaths.
And yesterday )9/04/2021)Willard Scott the former NBC weatherman. That corner of Heaven must really be rocking now.
I’m going to miss this lady so much. I’m so glad we have her videos on RUclips to keep watching. Her and left brain are strolling over heaven. My condolences to Beaver.
I didn't know that her Husband died too. God Rest his Soul.
Another angel gained her wings. Jeannie will be missed from this world. What a loving soul
I've been listening to Mrs Robertson's speeches and funny stories for years and years and I've always wondered what Norma Rose looked like. The 7UP pound cake story is one of my favorites of hers she'll be sorely missed. R.I.P. Mrs Robertson.
I try to remember to watch her every so many days. Oh how she is missed.
Rest in peace Jeanne and Left Brain. Two beautiful souls.
Now we can bow our heads when talking about her and someone make Beaver a cake.
What a legacy she has left us. Rest in peace, Jeanne. I know the saints and angels are laughing.
One of my favorite clips! Jeanne, We all miss you!
Ms Norma Rae is so funny!
Lucy and Ethel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since this video was made Ms.Robertson and her husband has passed away sad to say ,she gave a lot of enjoyment to so many with her sweet humor .I felt I knew her .Heaven is a brighter place with her presence !
TY Jeanne for all your lovely humor thru the years (and this recipe) You will be greatly missed
Jeannie, you are a national treasure! I lived in Burlington for 12 years. Saw you in the Home Depot with LB! We will miss you both! RIP!
She brought me and my mom hours and hours of cackles. She passed not long before mom had her first stroke that would go on to be the first of several in short succession before she went on to pass as well.
Thank you for all of the candles, Mrs. Robertson. Love to Beaver.
I am going to make this tomorrow in memory of Jeanne. Rest In Peace, sweet lady! You were loved by many!!
I feel I lost a bestest friend. Thank you so much for the joy you brought into my life. Deepest condolences to your family & friends. Warmest hugs from Texas!❤❤❤
Having the videos on this channel to watch when we need a laugh, well, that's a wonderful gift. I'm so glad we can remember Jeanne this way.
I know the grocery store by heart, and when my husband goes he has a quick trip because I write the list down in order. One day I had a few things out of order, and I numbered them 1 to 4, the order to look for them in. Long story short, I’m married to a left brain. Love your video! 🥰
Native Virginian- you must not shop at Wally World- used to work there and they change " mods" every whipstitch- used to the feel our motto should be NEVER THE SAME PLACE TWICE Often told my customer " wait a second and we'll go look for IT together". Much love from Central Ohio.
@@cassiecasson4585 I go to one store which NEVER moves the groceries around!!!!I told the manager this. He said well I am never going to change my store. ever!
I sent my husband to buy milk, butter and eggs. He came back a couple of hours Later after spending $116. Guess what he didn't buy??
My granny used a spaghetti noodle to check the cake!!! Omg I died when you pulled out the sweaters from the oven!!! You are simply wonderful!!♥️
How do u check it with a spaghet-----ooooooh. It's not cooked. Lol
@@teekotrain6845 lol I know you were serious but thanks for a laugh I so needed! 😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍
My mom used a broom straw as did my nanny.
@@SplendaChic I never heard of checking with a broom straw. My Grannie and Mother used toothpicks. So do I.
And in later years, my Mom has the gadget made to check the cakes. Her nickname was "The Gadget Queen". She loved gadgets, especially kitchen gadgets.
Grannie was more simple. She did have full cake decorating regalia, all the bags and piping tips and the multi-tiered cake stands.
Grannie was asked to make wedding, birthday and anniversary cakes all the time.
I bake brownies, sprinkle powder sugar on them and serve them with strawberries. My family asks for them for birthdays now.
We use Forks in my house.
Ms. Robertson.. I TRULY believe this is one of your best, if not THE best video you've done since the quarantine started!! It's fabulous, and the cake looks fabulous and YOU'RE fabulous! Thank you for posting this gem!
I have c
Recently, I have watched one of your stories and was totally blown away! I haven't laughed like that for so long!!! Then in searching for more I found out that Left brain had died and then you had died also !, I am heartbroken! I am happy you and Left Brain are in your forever home! Thank you for all the joy and laughter you have brought to my life! and at a time when I really needed to laugh !🌹
I also store pots and pans in the oven....Ms. Jeannie Robertson, you always make a bad day turn into a good day! I saw you in Indianapolis a couple of years ago and I watch your videos all the time at work. You are the best "humorist" I have ever seen! Love you bunches!!
Such a precious lady. I have enjoyed watching her when she's performing comedy with her down home stories that are hysterical. You will be missed sweet Jeannie. Thank you for the laughs, just the way I like them, clean and true.💕
Yep saw the clip! Such a funny story! Rest In Peace sweet Jeanne! Norma Rose you look magnificent! Love your clothes!
is there anything more fitting to honor Jeanne now that she has passed than to make a 7-up pound cake in her honor?
This should be a weekly series with these two amazing ladies! I absolutely loved it!!
Hello Mrs.Jeanne and Mrs.Rose, you ladies had me in stitches I laughed so hard.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I first heard the story of Left Brain's trip to the grocery store a few years ago while pulling weeds in my flower garden on a miserably hot day in full sun. I had tears of laughter rolling down my face. I have rarely laughed so hard. Thanks for all the laughs Jeanne and LB. You made my life happier, and I will always try to look for the funny things around me.
And now I can't wait to try this cake myself :)
The first thing I noticed was Buccee the beaver magnet on your ice box. I'm from Texas and Buccees are every where!
Lucy and Ethel are alive and well and baking in N.Carolina!
Glad I’m not the only one that does that...I keep extra pans in mine😂😂😂This is So cute!!!
OMG
I love the, "when someone has passed" (bows head) too funny..
OMG, I laughed so hard I got side stitches! Jeanne you are absolutely priceless! We love you.
I love how she just dumps everything in at once! No creaming, incorporating for Jeanne!
Yes, but she did strain the flour! haha
@@mjaylith5232 I was gonna say the same thing🤣
@@mjaylith5232 I know right? Go figure! LOL 😆 🤣 😂
I went there too, then remembered it's a pound cake and supposed to be "heavy":)
Also, no RIP'S for Jeanne. She wouldn't know how🥰
Mrs. Jeanne, I had the privilege to meet you years ago when you came to MC Miss Troy State pageant in Troy Alabama. My mother was it’s director. I fell in love with you then. Thank you for always bring a smile and laughter into the world. I’m going to try making your 7Up Pound Cake.
"Sit down right there"....😂 I ❤ you.
All of us who can relate thought to ourselves “First thing you do is empty out all the pots and pans you store in the oven AKA the extra storage drawer” 🤣🤣🤣
I may not store my clothes in the oven, 😆 lol, but, who doesn't store skillets in their oven? We were brought up that way in the South. The cast iron skillet was used everyday & sat on top of stove or in the oven.
@@GAPeach58 my mom does that too
@@GAPeach58 I found NINE cast iron skillets, moving to different houses in different states. I saved the 6,8,10 and 12 inch ones and kept giving them away!!!!!. Once I found THREE under leaves which had been raked by a front porch in Memphis and forgotten I guess! Cheers from Chattanooga, Birmingham, Atlanta, Slidell, Memphis and San Francisco!!!!!!!!
@@roninwarriorsfan Where did the Unsinkable Molly Brown....Debbie Reynolds..keep her money? OH I looked it up. That was a myth! She kept coins in a stove but not paper money. Belly up to the bar, boys!!!
@@phyllispetras3369 Small world. The cast iron skillet I found buried in yard under piles of leaves was in Memphis in 1990's. 👍😍
The first time I heard the story about sending Left Brain to the grocery store, we were listening to the comedy channel on XM radio on our drive from Minnesota to Galveston, Texas for my grandmother’s 100th birthday celebration. It was a good thing that I wasn’t the one driving because I was laughing so hard, I was crying. My husband was nodding in agreement because he can be very “left brain” at times. I’ve revisited the video of you telling that story several times and I laugh just as hard every time.
Now I will have to make your cake myself. It looks delicious!
Lucky you! I've never heard Jeanne on XM RADIO. I've only ever heard a bunch of nasty "comedians."
“And if somebody passes .... I’m so sorry” Just kill me now !!!😹😹😹😹😹
I lost it when she said that, bowing my head
I loved watching you and Norma Rose in the kitchen. You truly could do a sitcom together! How blessed you are to have one another to call your bestest friend! Keep your
RUclips clips coming!💚💜
My grandmother always used the “clean” end of a broom straw.
Mom always did the broom straw thing.😖
My mom did too.
I just love Jeanne’s clean, innocent comedy. Such a sweet pick me up in a crazy world we live in today.
I love when you and Norma Rose are on together. I can see why she’s your “bestest” friend. Thanks for the video it was awesome..
Yes! Mom used a broom straw, too, to check her cakes for doneness. She used the end that snapped off, not the floor end. I miss those Lions Club brooms. Those were the sturdiest, best made brooms ever! I still make the 7-Up cake and the Sock It To Me cake as they both came out in the late 60’s, early 70’s. 😋
One of the FEW good things that came out of the Covid19 debacle, are the funny, down home videos you have put together for your fans, Jeanne!
Meeting all your family members, and several of your friends, including your “bestist friend,” Norma Rose, has been a real hoot!
Keep these vids coming, and if you’re out on the “road” again, sure do hope to meet you in person!👍👏👏👏❤️
I had a giggle when you took all those towels out of your oven. My mother never used her dishwasher. My dad used to hide his secret stash of cookies in a tin in the dishwasher so my Mom wouldn't know he had them. (He was diabetic, bless his heart...🥰) lol.
Haha my friend stores her kitchen supplies in her dishwasher. I was like oh no then my husband better hand wash those dishes not me!
Oh Jeanne I just LOVE YOU!
My smile is on and I’m ready for some laughter.
I don’t cook either. Lol
This warms my heart. This woman is so unbelievably wholesome! I love the silliness.
I'm so happy she has a new video she is one of the funniest story tellers ever 🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😊😊😊 she said I don't want to hurt your feelings but my cake is famous 😂☺️
So precious! We love you Jeanne!!
I don't know how many times I've seen Don't Send a Man to the Grocery Store and I still crack up. Can't wait to make the cake!
Laughing out loud. Love watching the two of you. Best show ever.
I had to laugh when she said take whatever you store in your oven out before you turn it on. I store my pots and pans in the oven or on the stove top after I wash them. Not because I don't cook everyday, but because I have no room in my cupboards for them. I'm constantly moving everything around from one surface to the other. Some day I hope to get my kitchen remodeled, but after 26 years in the same house, I really don't think it's gonna happen....lol. Don't Send a Man to The Grocery Store is one of my favorite stories that Jeanne tells. Makes me laugh every time.
I store my pots and pans in my oven too! So did my mother! I thought that's what you were supposed to do! 😄
Lol yep me too
😂 cast iron skillets don’t melt I can’t say how many times I forget to take pans out over 20 yrs I should know by now but I still forget 😂 I’m easily distracted from forgetting pans in the oven to forgetting to put soap in the washer or shutting the washer door 😂 God Bless
I had to laugh. That is such a "southern thang." Lol
I keep my great grandmother’s and my grandmother’s cast iron skillets in the oven.
Girl, I’m watching and dying laughing! You keep Em’ laughing in heaven, sweetie! 💕🙏🏼
Ok... this was fun 💛 Definitely making it 👌but...now I want to know Jeannie's other "two" recipes 🙏🙏🙏
Will miss them enjoyed hearing the stories . God bless you.
I'm 77 and have lost both my HUBBY back in 2000 and my late companion of 11 years back in 2019... but I wanted to tell you how REFRESHING I find both your humor and YOU!!! Judy in IA/OK
I LOVE this!! Thank you Jeanne and Norma Rose. It reminds me of when my sisters and I got together to make a Godzilla cake for my son. We were frosting it and the kids came in to ask for some frosting. We said no, nobody could taste it until the party. My niece looked at us and said, “Well, you guys did!” All three of us looked at each other and started laughing. Our lips and tongues were green and black... from eating the frosting. Best day ever!
I’m making her famous cake tomorrow. Jennie never fails to make me laugh when I watch these priceless videos.❤️
You Rock, Jeanne! When the banjo pickin’ started I truly thought you might kick off your shoes and get to clogging! 😂😂 You bring so much sunshine to so many people and are love by so many. 💜💜🇺🇸🇺🇸 Kingsport, TN
Great demonstration. My husband had a dear friend who was alone when we met him and ate out all the time. He passed earlier this year (bow your head and shake it) and we are the executors of his estate. When we went to begin cleaning his house out, there were seven boxes of Cheerios in his oven. I'm really glad we didn't didn't turn it on!
Yaaaaaaasssssss!! I am so EXCITED! Thank you, precious LADY!
This is the BEST! I love this! Thank you, Jeanne and Norma Rose!
Hysterical! You are missed, Jeanne. Loved your friend, too.
Love that vintage Pyrex bowl.
I still use mine. I have a traditional color set (yellow, green, blue, red) and a pink set that was my grandmother’s. I bought mine after I graduated from college. They’re old, like me. 😁
@Jim Elliott You can find them on eBay and Mercuri by sets or individually.
@Jim Elliott I inherited those too! There was also a cut glass bowl that only....and nothing ever else....was used for Jello! 😊
The sight of that yellow bowl brought back memories of my childhood, 1950's-60's. I had forgotten about that set of bowls. Long gone to that great kitchen in the sky! 😄
Oh my goodness...I absolutely LOVED this video 😍!!!
You are such a hoot! Your mother and that straw reminds me of my mother cooking the turkey at Thanksgiving. One year she put the turkey on the platter to take to the dining room and it slid right off the platter onto the floor! She picked it up, put it right back on the platter, and marched right into the dining room as if nothing had happened and placed it in it’s customary place as the center of attention. Nobody was the wiser - until the following year when she ‘fessed up! 😳🤦♀️😁
Broom straw - YES!!
LOVE this!
Watching a sweet comedy star make a cake on the Internet? #WHOLESOME ❤️
I laugh out loud, loudly when the sweaters came out of the oven!! I wish I was there with you, and Norma Rose, to sit down with a cup of coffee and a slice of your pound cake!
I was cured of storing things in the oven when we moved and forgot to check the oven for anything. Lost a good pizza stone.
I had been gone from my family's home for over 10 years. My mom was gone on vacation and I asked if I could have a pajama party at her house because it was bigger. Well, I had forgotten she stored things in her oven and I just turned it on to preheat. Not only did my mom store pots and pans in her oven she had some plastic in there. Needless to say the kitchen smelled of melting plastic and I had to replace a few things. All these years later, my friends still tease me.
I laughed so hard. You and Norma Rose make a great comedy team.
Can anyone else see Lucy & Ethel?
Lucy and Ethel.
"It would last 3 weeks...I have 3 recipes." HAHAHAHAHAA
Oh my gosh! I literally laughed out loud when she was carrying the ingredients over! She is so hilarious! Thank you for putting this video up!!
Might be something one of my friends gives me for Christmas. 😁 You’re the best Jeanne.
I had to watch this several times, mostly because I kept laughing at Norma Rose eating the batter behind Jeanne Robertson's back 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂 Thanks for the cooking lesson and the laughter 🙋🏾♀️💕
I remember that clip very well and I have that autographed recipe card. ♡
Thanks for the oven reminder as step 1. Always forget to check...to my dismay. Thank you Jeanne!👍👍 And Norma Rose!👍👍
Rest in Peace beautiful and FUNNY lady! You will be missed! I can't laugh WITHOUT having an ASTHMA attack! I have to keep my rescue inhaler nearby when I watch one of your videos! I am really gonna miss you!
What I like is I get to see two bestest friends together in the kitchen. Looking good. God bless STAY SAFE
Sorry to hear about your sweet husband passing! However, your humor allows him to live on with everyone forever! Praying for you all as you make this journey of grief
You sure jogged a memory from MANY years ago! I DO remember a straw broom being used to check cakes for "doneness" 😄
My mother also used a broom straw!
Thanks Jeanne! 🤩🤩 I hope that you and left brain are well!
I will miss your wonderful stories, I looked forward to them. I will make this cake and think about you every time. Bless you! Pray for your family too.
Darlin that was the first video of your's that I watched, don't send a man to the ..... LOVE it !! So true. Thank you for all your video's and for the pound cake ! So fun ! Stay safe and healthy. God bless
I've been waiting for this for years! I looked for recipes for years!
Think it's on her website
I had read it on the website and thought yuck and so many ingredients
Oh, dear sweet lady, I will miss you sooo much! You brought me so much laughter with your stories. Now you’re making all of heaven rejoice with you. I hope my father finds your heavenly stage and watches you. I think he’d get a belly roll going. RIP -
You two are hilarious!!!! There’s nothing better than a bestest friend.
Oh my gosh I love this. So hilarious. God bless & be with you all always ❤ 🙏
The first Jeanne video I ever saw was Left Brain and the grocery store and I was hooked. She could tell a story like no other and it was always clean. For the last week I have been rewatching every one of her videos and back porch chats on RUclips and am so sad there will be no more.
I absolutely adore this lady. I love her wit, humour and of course the stories. God bless you Mrs. Robertson
I want somebody to come to my kitchen and play the banjo for me while I get my ingredients out, like Jeannie has.
Thank you so much for making this video. You always make me laugh, but when you started to say how your mother used to test the cake, I knew just what you were going to say!
I laughed so hard.
I used to do the same thing until my husband found out and took away my straw broom. A nylon one just doesn’t work, so I now use a wooden toothpick.
Thank you for that memory!
Yes, yes, yes!!! I'm so excited!!! Thank you for sharing Miss Jeanne ❤️
Sounds like we are members of the Oven Storage Club. Mine is full at the moment with frying pans and baking sheets. Quite an endeavor to unload. My mother was an excellent cook and made biscuits all the time. Her oven had her biscuit pan and a cast iron pan for frying chicken which we called a spider. I may try to bake the cake..looked delicious..as soon as I unload the oven.😀
Thank you, Jeanne & Norma Rose for sharing this recipe with us. Norma Rose thanks for helping you bestest friend. I did see that video about sending Left Brain to the market. I will definitely find your recipe and share with my friends & family. Thanks again! Bless you.
The first time I saw your RUclips channel was the Left Brain grocery store list.
What was so funny was, the cashier. Is there an epidemic??? LOL
This cake is scrumptious!!!!!
Beautiful! Ha ha! One of my Grandsons, Jaxson (12) smiled and giggled. At the end 😀he said pretty cool! He watched “don’t send a man to the grocery store” and loved it!
I love you and left brain. ❤️
Ms. Robertson - thank you for being such a wonderful light and joy to the world with your wit and humor! My whole family loves watching your videos. I about died laughing when you said to take stuff out of the oven. I am almost 40, my almost 80 year old mother lives with me and any time I start to bake something she comes running in yelling, “DONT FORGET TO TAKE THE STUFF OUT O’THE OVEN.” She stores all sorts of stuff in that oven! It’s a hoot and a half that you do too. Blessings on you and your family!
PS - we’ll be making your pound cake real soon!
Thank you thank you!! We love y'all.
A special lady! I was fortunate to see her in person a few years ago. My condolences to her family and friends.
