These roster sheds are almost certainly not Zaidi's call, that is an ownership call, and we saw this at the deadline when Soler was packaged with Luke Jackson to shed payroll when the typical Zaidi move would just be to cut him. Our ownership group is only a half a step away from the radioactive pile of owners like the White Sox, A's, Pirates, Angels, Rockies, Oriels etc. A GOOD owner wouldn't keep Zaidi after the 22 AND 23 season that fell apart the same way. But these wavier dumps really hurt a team's projections for next year, just look at the Angels! Our ownership is as smart as Arte Morano, that should terrify Giants fans.
