Interviews? People speculating on stuff they have no direct information about? Talk about clutching for straws. Every front office exec in baseball says "We're willing to spend to win". Every single one. Until they see the price tag. It's like Mike Tyson says, "They all have a plan until they get punched in the mouth". It's not the player's money. Who cares what Willie Adames thinks the Giants should do or Logan Webb or some lady named Susan whose clearly a Giant honk. It's not their money for crying out loud. And what exactly is the pitch again to Sasaki? "Pay no attention to the fact that our club is currently dead up to the neck where results are concerned. Or that our minor league organization is rated dead last in all of major league baseball. Or that our ballpark is so hitter unfriendly, that we can't attract any good ones. We just want you know that if you sign with us, we're willing to change all of that and we're willing to spend to win". Good Luck with that! We're hearing today that Scott Boras is insisting on a 2 or 3 year opt out for Corbin Burnes in a long deal. to which the Giants allegedly responded, "absolutely not". Again it's all speculation but this makes a little more sense. Burnes doesn't want to hitch his wagon to a potential loser for 8 years.

I think all of us are feeling that same intuition, that Roki Sasaki and Corbin Burnes will both be Giants before the start of next season. Which would be a massively successful off-season for Posey if he can bring both of those pitchers in along with Adames. Posey’s first ever off-season as pobo will exponentially outperform ALL of Zaidi’s off-seasons with the Giants.. *combined* !! Then, if he can just somehow convince Hicks to move back to the bullpen, where dude is dominant.. that creates a monster of a bullpen for us, with Hicks, Doval, Walker shutting down the 7-8-9 innings (reminiscent of the WS teams with Affeldt, Lopez, Romo, Wilson, etc etc closing out the late innings). If all that happens, which feels fairly likely actually, then the only other improvements that can possibly be made are upgrades at RF, 1st, and 2nd base. We would still need one more middle of the order bat that plays one or more of those 3 positions (Bellinger anyone? I’d take it fs). Bellinger is a better fit for us right now than Goldschmidt, Alonso, Walker, etc.. because he can play 1st this year and move to the OF when Eldridge comes up this yr or next. Plus, if we get both Sasaki and Burnes, that gives us a gigantic treasure trove of young pitching that can be used for trades to upgrade RF, 1st, and/or 2nd. We’re already overflowing with tons of young, high-potential pitching talent (including Doval, Hicks, Walker, plus Harrison, plus like 5 more minor league pitchers coming up soon). Multiple young pitchers will be expendable for trades if necessary, if Posey lands both Sasaki and Burnes. Posey is so damn good at everything he touches. He’s on the brink of fixing 6 complete failure years from Zaidi in one offseason. Dude is our golden goose. All hail our savior, Buster Posey!! 🫡Lmao

If I’m the Giants I go really hard for Sasaki..not Burnes. Sasaki has more potential upside at far less expense without losing any picks. The Tucker trade hurt as I thought he would’ve been a perfect fit for the Giants.

Posey getting adames before soto went to the Mets was smart

I knew from the beginning that Soto was never coming to the Giants, they didn't even try for him and that was the correct decision. I agree with Glenn that this is bad for baseball only because it farther enshrines the ELITE owners from everyone else and only having 4 or 5 REAL TEAMS in the MLB is a way to crash interest more than it is already because of MLB's horrible stances on baseball politics. Baseball needs so many changes and active policies enacted and Rob Manfred is sending USA baseball to hell in a hand basket.

The Giants signing Adames is what we needed. Sign Burnes should be next if we get lucky. I wonder if we could trade Yaz and Taylor Rodgers for Bellinger or Ray straight up for Ray. Sign Ha Seong Kim and play him at 2B. Having a lineup of JHL, HSK, Belli, Adames, Ramos, Chapman, Yaz, Bailey and Fitz or Schmitt. A decent lineup to think about.

Roki is going to LA. If he doesn't it would shock everyone. As a fan I just don't ever get my hopes up for anything anymore because they have fallen short every time. Now having said that, having Buster be the head of the snake makes me feel better than Farhan did. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised like I was today than be constantly be disappointed.
