- I just added a new toy to the shop! Here I am unboxing a 30w split fiber laser from OMTech Lasers. Up to this point all of my laser experience has exclusively been with Co2 lasers and the fiber will be a new adventure and open up new product lines. I was suprised at how easy it was to set this up and get going. The biggest hurdle will be dialing in settings for the new material I will be working with.

Awesome !!! I would have probably done the same thing with the. lens and started panicking. Just ordered mine tonight so, I am trying to watch all of the "Laserguys" setups and info videos while I *impatiently* wait mine to arrive. learn all that I can now, so I can convert from the CO2 with as much "ease" as possible ! Congrats on the new fiber laser. They are a lot of fun. Something to keep in mind is that if you plan to do any engraving with it you really need a good exhaust as the particles it throws off are super tiny and can be very dangerous to your lungs.

Hi. Does it print just as well all the way up to the 7.8" maximum? I have something that's real close to that that needs this laser. I don't want to have to get the larger one. Thanks!

OM Tech is out of stock of the 80mm Rotary device. There are many online through EBAY. Would they work with this unit?
Great video. I really want one of these myself, but my main roadblock is what do you do to exhaust fumes?
The fumes on this are much less than a Co2 and wood. Most people will set up an inline fan and have set a duct next to the fiber work space to pull the fumes.

Nice video! I have just recently begun my study of both CO2 and Fiber lasers as I would like to add both to my shop.I was curious if you could have made the business card the other way to where it kept your beard black and everything else was lighter? I have a company logo that I would probably want to play with to see which part would be better to engrave.
Yep all you would need to do is add and offset or and outer circle and it will invert the design.

Yes it is! I have been using lightburn on it all through the beta testing. You do have to make sure that you get the JCZ board.
Should I be able to cut through anything high fiber with this? I am having trouble with beans and broccoli.
Triscits are better because the are nice and flat.
The usb doesn’t show up I’m my device manager, does that mean it’s good to go?

My drivers won’t install for my 50w OMTech engraving laser. Fixing to package it back up and ship it back
The drivers installing has nothing to do with the actual laser. Are you trying to use ezcad or lightburn

Were you unhappy with your 30watt if within a year you upgraded to the 100 watt MOPA?
The 30w was great for learning and getting started. I did find that I wanted to do colors and wanted to get deeper engravings. This is where the 100w MOPA came in. If I was to buy a starter machine again I would have done a 50w or higher.
The 100w MOPA is also part of a collaboration that I am doing with OMTech.

Not yet. From what I have heard they are working on fiber laser integration.

Hello, I have a dual red light machine I purchased from china recently, redpointing is working fine but the leaser does not fire up when I click mark, any help on this will be appreciated
Are you getting an error message? Have you focused the head? Is the lens cover on?
@@BeardedBuildsCo, Yes the head is focused and there is no cover on the lens, it not giving any marking light or sound whatsoever apart from the Red(F1)

@@BeardedBuildsCo just to answer your question, the software is not giving errors, there is movement inside the lens without marking light.

How I make money. I put in the work and network with businesses. I mark flashlights, wallets, bracelets, all kinds of promo items for them or gifts for there employees. I don’t make any metal business cards.
