  • One of my favorite mods this far. A little Frankensteining with OEM parts. The M50 Manifold conversion on the M52 added noticeable gains on the top end (5000rpm and up) and I did not notice any lose down low.

    Thanks for the vid, gonna be fitting mine soon. What have you done about the traction control warning light with removing the traction stuff? Thanks

    • @swtmnk3
      @swtmnk3  4 года назад

      I don't use traction control so mine is permanently off. But you shouldn't have any traction control issues from doing the m50 manifold.... have you disconnected your traction control throttle body??

    You done a good job......It looks like a very awkward job.I just bought a 1998 e36 328i and i would like to convert it back to m50 intake manifold.do you think those kits from china on e-bay would be easier to fit than OEM.I think they are welded aluminium alloy??

    Hey very helpful video man! What did you need to modify to get the fuel rail back on?

    • @swtmnk3
      @swtmnk3  5 лет назад +2

      Viper2345 L I believe part of the mount off the rail hits the m50 manifold. The new plates in the kit work to move the mounting points.

    I have your same kit , very straight forward I like your video. My question is how to route the vacuum hoses , which one goes into the blue one hose ? Which goes to the small one to the edge of the manifold ? Is the T that bimmer world provides to attach all?

    Did the ecu just adapt to the new manifold or did it require tuning?

    • @swtmnk3
      @swtmnk3  4 года назад

      Bowman_46 I opted no tune and it did just fine. There is a ecu restart procedure that probably speeds up the process of relearn and zeros all the means. I may do a tune at this point now that Iv done exhausted. Also be nice to delete some codes and up the rev limit. But wouldn’t say it’s a necessity for the swap.

      It's all subjective really. Your best bet on answering your question is to search the forums for someone that has done a before and after dyno. I recall finding this at one point. Might be hard to find the dyno pictures though since photo bucket killed all forums lol

      @swtmnk3  4 года назад +1

      YES its a stock car... with welded so yes it did burnouts before the manifold..I put that in the end for fun, probably wasn't even the same week. but the little gain that the m50 gives is up top which is good for burnouts :) more skids
