Another fantastic in-depth video , I would like to say a big thank you for the job you are doing . These videos are amazingly good . I lost my job over the pandemic and decided to go back to college to do my 2365 level 2 & 3 . Just completed my 18th edition with a 90% pass mark just 3 weeks of watching your 18th edition videos . Keep up the fantastic job . Many many thanks.
That is great news Nish, well done on passing and so happy that the videos helped in their small way. Spread the word and thanks for watching. Lots more to come. Dave.
I used your videos to help me get through my 18th exam. I used only your videos and sat an exam only without doing the course which is a lot of money and passed with 87%. Thanks, keep up with the videos. So helpful! Looking to do my 2391 soon so anything on that would be great.
Well, what can I say. That's fantastic news, well done to you. 2391, we are planning something in the New Year. Once again, well done and thanks for watching. Dave.
For question 9, I got answer A and question 10, answer C. I was supposed to do my 18th edition exam yesterday but I caught covid this week and have to isolate but you videos helped me a lot. Glad I got the 18th edition course part of my electrical apprenticeship because the 2 day course we went in to prepare for the exam, all our tutor did was gave us 2 mocks test. Didn’t explain how to find the answers or nothing was a waste of time. But I’ve been binge watching your vids since the start of November and I feel confident for the exam. Thanks so much!
Thank you for watching and well done on the answers, both correct. Another 18th video next week. Just keep using the same methods, find the keywords and use page 3. It's a method that works. Don't remember the regulations, remember how to find the answer. Good luck with the exam and with Covid. Dave.
Excellent Video Dave. Even though you mentioned its not replacement for classed environment but I would say its not complementary to that its even far more informative than most of class based environment. Thankyou for your great efforts! you truly deserve all the subscriptions for electrical videos category !
Another great video. I watched all the 18th edition top teach videos, they were fantastic. I’m really looking forward to watch all these new 18th edition videos. Keep these coming.👍🏻
Great Video again!! I just passed my 18th edition exam in only 2 weeks thanks to your video. Thank you a lot. Keep going. Thanks and thanks again mate!!
Sometimes figuring out the correct keywords especially in the exam takes time. To do well in the exam I think you have to learn a certain amount to give you a head start by being able to answer some questions pretty well straight away. Try to memorize regs you apply on the job so you kill two birds with one stone - you really can't be trying to pull everything out of a book - two hours goes fast. If you can answer at least a third of the questions comfortably and quickly it takes the pressure off answering the rest of the questions so you are less likely to panic thinking you are going to run out of time. If a question looks tricky don't spend too much time on it - go to the next . If you are running out of time - like 5 questions left in a couple of minutes then guess the answers. It may not work for everyone but it worked for me.
@@learnelectrics4402 I went on a three day course with the 18th edition exams at the end. I got 88% but struggled with the computer based exam - a format I wasn't used to. The training centre didn't mess about and I think I would have failed the exam without those three days in the classroom. I have to confess when I ran out of time and guessed the last answers to the last section of the exam. As the exam results were split up into sections when I got the results I was able to work out I got every question in the last section (all guessed) wrong ! So much for luck but if I had to do it all again I would do the same. Some you win, some you lose.
Good luck, if you go to LearnElectrics.com and put Amendment 2 into the search box you will get a list of the Amd2 videos with direct links to the videos, questions, answers etc. Thanks for watching. Dave.
My lad has just passed the exam, following in his father's footsteps, lol. He came out with a point, saying that the whole point of this exam is out of date, because... This will be the only time that you use that book, and going forward if you need to look something up... You use you phone on the internet... And to. Be honest... He's quite right. I've not even used the since I did mine back in 2019, if I needed to check up on something I look on my smart phone... How many of you actually take the book out and use it? As he said... With internet at our disposal... Books are pointless, especially on site. .. he got a point. Lol
I can see his logic, but the paper book is all that is allowed in the exam as things are at the moment. If you were in a field in Wales with no internet, could you use the book to find the answer? And it does happen. Thanks for contributing, appreciated.
Thanks for the support Jon. If you go to LearnElectrics.com and type Amendment 2 into the search bar, you will get a list with direct links to all the Amd 2 videos which includes new questions and updated page numbers. Dave.
these page numbers don’t match using the new brown wiring regs book when your giving examples/ but the looking up info through key words work but your answers are on different pages to this video
This video is for the blue book. Type in LearnElectrics Amendment 2 and you will get all the brown book videos with questions and answers. Have a look at the video on this link. Where the question is clearly written for an older technology what options do you have beyond answering the question as you know they want the answer?. E.g. your spot light question close to combustibles. A 100 watt halogen is going to output a lot of energy as heat Vs 100 watt led. Does the regulations have anything to deal with these items that might not have been addressed. I see a lot of RUclips Sparky's just ringing up there accreditation firms to ask them the question but is that the correct way to address unknowns?
The Regs say "... or as per manufacturer's instructions" A good question as some LED fittings have heat sinks on the back that still emit some heat from the drivers, but is that directed towards the combustibles? For the exam, stick to what the Regs say and good luck. Thanks for watching. Dave.
Is their any chance you would make a video on how to make your own test board? I have just started my L2 and would like to make a test board at home where I can practise. Maybe have switches at the back where someone could turn it off and that could replicate a fault?
Good idea. Let me think about that, I've made lots of test boards in the past. I'm glad you are taking it seriously, it's a great trade to be in. It's taken me around the world a few times. Good luck, Dave.
This is an Amendment 1 video. You will need the Amendment 2 videos. Thanks, Dave.
Sean, I've gone back 5 days in the comments history and nothing from you is showing up. This one, obviously has come up. I've no idea why the others are not showing, you usually have some great comments and questions for me. Let's hope it's a temporary glitch. If you receive this reply, please reply back so that I know things are working. Thanks. Dave.
get the brown wiring regs book. Go to LearnElectrics.com and put Amendment 2 into the search box. you will get a list of a dozen or so help videos just on BS7671 18th Edition Amendment 2. All will have a direct link to a help video. If you can, watch all of them a couple of times, they are only about 15 minutes in length. Good luck and thanks for watching. Dave.
