@overplanet5318 I sat the course 18 months ago and the videos were very relevant at the time. I doubt much has changed since then. Sparky ninja will see you right. Good luck 👍
I really appreciate your time and your superb videos, I am getting ready to test 2391-52 very soon and keep enjoying your videos so helpful thanks a lot
I genuinely passed my 18th EDT watching your episodes, very helpful, booked my self on the 2391-52 course, but still going to watch all your outcomes etc as I find your videos have good guidance and gives me a boost of confidence. Thanks again and again for all your time and effort , much appreciated. I look forward to seeing the rest of the training videos 👍🏽
Thank you for starting to do a series on 2391. I'm sitting mine in May, I found your videos a great help when I was doing my 2365 so this has come just at the right time for me. Thanks again and keep up the good work 👍👍
Thanks for sharing, this is a perfect introduction and orientation and badly needed information for the industry. If there was a Nobel Prize for Sparks, then you certainly deserve it...:) well done and Thanks again.
Very good material!! Thanks for taking the time teaching such an important subject to any wanna-be electrician. Keep up the good work!!! (Still can't get my head around on the lack of thumbs up...)
Hi Sparky.....I think you should have a Patreon ( or similar) site, if you don't already, and on it put the full tutor course, and other courses like 2396 etc... maybe with email assistance or your Discord assistance / periodic (forgive the pun) course reviews, so the serious people can pay you for your time and effort in producing the full course videos, and just put a nice taster like this one on you tube to get the ball rolling. Like you say, you may piss a lot of people off putting the full course on RUclips for free, but they cannot moan if it's a subscription type of affair elsewhere. It would be up to the candidate to choose who he pays and who he learns from. I have always found your videos very informative and the new arrivals to the industry would learn more with you than on any fast-track, course out there. Thanks again for your time and another great informative video regarding the new 2391. One point.... has the new City and Guilds 2391 now become an open book exam like the EAL exams?
Yes it has. and thank you for the feedback. I do have something planned, but it will take a while to build. I also have a Patreon, but don't feel comfortable pushing it too much. 👍
hoping this helps me pass my final 2 online exams for y course, because off lockdown its been confusing whether we are taking the exam or not, and they have just told us we have our exams 1st july and 2nd july... lot to learn
Hi David. The audio is absolutely fine on this video. I watched this as I have done the 2394 and 2395 and wondered whether this new qualification adds anything to those qualifications? Courses on the net are being advertised at nearly £1000!! Not sure if I need this extra badge unless it becomes a requirement for the landlord inspection and testing you were talking about in your other video . Thanks for the videos I really appreciate them . Adrian at AJD Electricals
the 2395 is fine for it. Worst case is maybe you'll be asked if you have tested properties as this 'property competent' term may sting some. Just collect half a dozen samples of domestic EICRs and you'll be over prepared. 👍
Great video, thanks for sharing your knowledge. One question I do have however, is if you are permitted to bring in notes alongside GN3, OSG and the wiring regs?
Hello SN , I'm 51 , and over 30 year's experience ( originally 15th 236/1/2) 16th,17th and 18th (2020) upgrades ( ECS gold) vast experience of domestic, commercial and industrial throughout the UK ,and abroad on several occasions.QUESTION ..need to do T & I course now ( Very rusty) due to life / work changes...(52) appropriate? Or 2392?? ..will be doing EICR , new work's and minor works...any thoughts please, thanks in advance
If you are doing EICRs then you'll want to do the 2391-52 which covers both initial verification and periodic inspection. How 'rusty' are you on doing the tests themselves?
Hi sparky ninja, just a question when you quote the outcome numbers eg: 1.6a what to they refer too? The Gn3? If so they are different to my 18th edition gn3, please enlighten, many thanks
@@SparkyNinja oh ok I thought it was the GN3 I was trying it to follow it to that as I’m on the 5 day course next week n have the multi choice exam. Which of your videos would be help for that exam? Cheers
Do you need to have a level 3 electrical installation qualification to do 2391? I have a level 2 at present and was looking to do 2391 whilst waiting to start level 3.
No you don't. It's supposed to be difficult though with a low pass rate. I'm in a similar boat and was advised to get the level 3 done as you do some testing and fault finding in that
Hi mate, with all the substandard training courses that they are eventually trying to filter out, I do hope this new test and inspection qual isn’t a diluted qualification too?! If you have the level 3 test and inspection qual you knew you’d earned it!!
These substandard quals are just as bad as a non approved 3rd party accreditation, it should be hard and thorough training, and full approved status 3rd party accreditation, would solve most the issues within the industry.
Hi all. Would really like some advice on the exam as I've failed it 3 times now 🤦♂️ mainly on the testing side of it I think maybe the calculations. I do revision from gn3 but really struggling. Thank you
Hi Wayne, have you joined my Facebook group on the 2391? Alternatively I have a discord server wich may help. I'll be in these but if you want to talk to me directly then you can ping me an email.
@@SparkyNinja hi thank you for the reply appreciate it. I'll definitely join your Facebook page. I'll drop you an email over this week if thats ok with you just for a bit of advice 👍 thanks again
Apparently they're very similar and its an equivalent qualification. My apprenticeship was EAL but it was chaotic. I've dodged them since and stuck to C&G courses.
Is it still a written exam? In a booking confirmation email it says "there is a two hour multiple choice online examination and one practical assessment"
I passed my 2391-52 course today. I don't think I could have done it without your superb videos. Thank you!
Hello bro,so nothing has changed from the time that these videos are unploaded till today,i mean maybe some updates or not, thank you !

Hi, they are referring to the course training handbook from City and Guilds.
It details the criteria all courses are structured against.

I gotta do the 60 question online exam and need some good mock exams, as its still got s very high fail rate
Audio loads better!
thanks
Can we have practical videos on this course please?

You on any of these?

How does this compare to the EAL Inspection and Testing 4337/4338?
Apparently they're very similar and its an equivalent qualification. My apprenticeship was EAL but it was chaotic. I've dodged them since and stuck to C&G courses.
Time saving audio service I use for my ham radio club videos. Auphonic.com it works automagically.
