You’d be foolish to think so. Helmut himself said that he has been impressed by Yuki so far.
But Yuki’s probably is not getting a chance for that RedBull seat because
      A) he’s no Max, Hamilton or Piastri
      B) very flush driver pool (Sainz)
      C) he has been a psychological disaster

Ricciardo has a soft spot in Horners heart and would also pay for himself and then some in marketing and pr.
They have recognized that Yuki is skilled and has improved a lot but he also has a hot head which is a liability. They don’t want any variables like that on the A team when there are so many other options. One of the main reasons he’s been there so long is because of their relationship with Honda.

But Yuki is not even close to the level of Alonso or Sainz, so thats why I dont see Yuki get promoted to the best car in the grid, while not being really top 10 driver on the grid. Yuki could propably have as bad season at Red Bull as Gasly had and that would do no good for his F1 career. It would be much more exciting to see Alonso in 2025 battling Verstappen at Red Bull, than Yuki try catch behind to Verstappen at Red Bull. I think Yuki looks like decent mid-field driver for me and thats why his move could be to Aston Martin in 2026, when Honda starts to make their engines and especially, if they finally sack Stroll for his poor preformances.

Ocon is the only river on the grid who genuinely comes from a poor background, he made it on pure merit and since his debuts, he always at least matched his teammates (and good ones) pace wise and made progress almost every year (especially apparent when he was at FI).
The dude is a race winner, rarely crash (that's a fact, not an opinion), has multiple podiums( including monaco where he qualified and finished 3rd ) and is a consistent point scorer when the car is good.

To figure out where Yuki could go, you have to consider the whole market. Sainz is in need of a seat so the first free seat will probably go to him. Perez would probably swap with anyone RedBull switches him out for, unless it’s Sainz in which case he also gets the first possible seat available. You also have to consider the tons of drivers that could be coming next season; Bearman, Antonelli, Iwasa, etc. This is why most likely, Yuki will unfortunately not end up in a top 10 seat next year, and even leaving RB is a huge risk with all the rookie drivers.

I think he could be at VCARB long term as a final boss that the incoming driver thinks they can use a stepping stone to look good and get in RBR but then gets assassinated by Yuki's speed. Lawson is going to lose to him next year and then Marco tries another driver.
If I was Williams or Audi, I would try to grab him, he's young, hungry and exciting, he would be an improvement over at least one of their current drivers.

    • @quentinhirschfeld9382

Lawson showed Yuki who's boss last year.
He beat him at SUZUKA with tremendous race-craft on the first lap, scored points after making it to Q3 in Singapore, finished ahead of him in Zandvoort (first race and first time he raced an F1 car with inter tires) and was extremely close to him ,in qualifying with 0 prep.

When I look at Yuki‘s f1 career, I know for me one thing stands out and that’s how long he was given at that junior team and how things coincide with the Honda contract for the engines. Plus, I don’t recall ever seeing a driver take as long as it took for Yuki to develop at that team as they usually are pretty quick to throw people out if they’re not doing well unfortunately, after as many years as Yuki’s been at that team, I have a feeling for him to actually grow as a driver he’s going to need to leave and personally I feel like he’s there to appease the engine manufacturer Honda. Yuki had a few rough seasons early on even publicly said he didn’t like going to the gym. He didn’t like working out and all of that stuff at one point, but was kept at the team, I think it’s mainly a sponsorship thing for him as to why they keep him. I want him to break free though and be able to grow as a driver. for some reason, I picture picture him and Pierre teaming up again somewhere as they were great teammates

Yuki is a total character and I really like his driving style and the grit he has, he also seems to be completely incapable of behaving rationally at times. If he had pulled that weird cool down lap trick on another car I am pretty sure the FIA would have destroyed him. He is the classic flashes of brilliance on the knife edge to disaster kind of driver and I wonder if he will end up being very dangerous if he can't calm down. That all makes him a huge liability to a team, especially if the team can't trust him to keep his cool.
I think DR being a better commercial option for RBR is a big factor, it makes that emotionality in the team more justifiable. His popularity in the USA is also not a bad upside given F1 sycophantically chasing the US market.

I haven't watched the video yet, but I can only see Tsunoda's career going in one trajectory:
One more year at RB with Lawson as a teammate, and then a one-year contract at RBR if he trounces Lawson (which I don't think he will), or out of F1/a "bad" F1 team like Haas or Alpine if he doesn't

@@sonypd9842 they have five races as teammates already and Yuki finished ahead of Lawson only once out of the three they both finished (and that was when Lawson chucked it in T1 in Qatar), and one of those was Suzuka, Yuki's best known track and a track that rewards tyre management (aka experience in F1)
Yuki obviously had a lot of bad luck in those five races but you're either seriously underrating Lawson or overrating Tsunoda

I'm sorry but his penalty in Spain was bullshit, one of the most unfair penalty i ever saw, should i remember you that Max did the same thing to Sainz lap 1 but even worst, the only difference is that Sainz lift and didn't throw himself outside the track before crying at the radio like a crybaby.
Meanwhile Russell cut the corner first lap and gap 5 place didn't get a penalty.
And Ocon did one of the most dangerous defending on Alonso in the straight line, 300km/h+ and didn't get a penalty either.
Tsunoda penalty was a joke, what garbage driver crybaby Zhou did is like footballer who dive and roll 6 time on the ground then ask for a foul.

The Tsunoda glazers easily forgot that his first rookie season was a complete, total and utter disappointment in every aspect possible, he was given much more time than most driver at that team.
While i will not take anything away from him, it is good to recall that Lawson bat him with 0 preparation and that De Vries wasn't even given a full season to prove himself.
Data wise, Ricciardo was also faster than him race pace wise laster year (as crazy as it seems).

It's his temperament. Look at so many drivers. They're almost inhumanly level headed. Oscar P is a great example. Nothing seems to phase him. Yuki needs to find a way to stop caring so much. Then he could be the greatest Japanese driver ever, and one of the best full stop. If nothing else, he weighs nothing! 😂😂😂

I don't think he's well liked on a personal basis. His conversation with the team sounds really cold and he acts up and swears a lot. There's more to being on a team than raw talent.
